Alpha Nicholas’s Forbidden Little Mate

Chapter 59

Warrior Tony "Come on pick up the pace I've seen more go in a newborn pup!" I bellow at the small group of teenagers that are training with the effort of a bunch of dip shits. I often help with training sessions covering for Robbie while he's busy with other work but covering the teenager groups can be a major pain in the ass. Don't get me wrong, there are a good few that want to learn and put all of their efforts into the lessons but of course, there are also plenty of them that can't be bothered and would much rather spend their time on their phones or checking each other out and it's a major pain in the ass. I know that Robbie feels the same and I swear half the time that asshole does it on purpose, pretends to be busy so I have to cover his training session the ass wipe! "Tony, you there brother?" Nicky's voice comes through the link drawing my attention away from the teenagers that are doing a great job of pissing me off! "Im here Alpha. Is everything ok?" "Why? Just why?" I laugh out loud knowing what I've done. There are certain people that Nick hates calling him Alpha unless it's official pack business and in front of others and I'm one of them but if I have to put up with these asshole teenagers pissing me off then it seems only fair that I get to piss him off too. "You are a dickhead on times mind!" "Thank you. I do try." A laugh bursts out of me while he just grunts. He loves me, don't worry. "What can I do for you brother?" "Where are you? "I'm covering Warrior training with the teenagers. Is everything ok?" "Can you get someone to cover you? I need you to come down to the cells. I have someone here you're going to want to see." "Yes, of course. I'll be right over." I quickly get some cover and head for the cells. As much as I wanted to question him over the link I have a feeling he wouldn't tell me. There was something in the tone of his voice that told me that things were serious and it instantly got me on edge, and now the more I think about it the faster my feet go until I'm running with all I have to get to him as soon as possible. Within just a few minutes I arrive at the cells eager to know what's going on. I swing open the door to the entrance and cringe when it slams shut. That fucking door is a nightmare. As I start to head down the stairs I feel Zero my wolf start to get restless but I don't know why and as much as I want to stop and ask him, I don't have time right now. Instead, I find myself running down the hallway that holds the cells and stupidly hoping that whoever this person is, is just standing there waiting for me but of course, life is never that simple and it soon becomes pretty clear from the way Nick, Bonnie and a few of our guards are standing in front of one of the cells that whoever our guest is, is in there and it only increases my interest. I slow down my run a little stupidly hoping that I can sidestep Nick but of course, that doesn't happen, instead, he jumps forward and stops me from seeing who's in the cell and I don't like it, not one bit. When he first said that he wanted me down here I assumed that a mutual friend had turned up, maybe someone we hadn't seen in a long time but now between him trying to stop me from seeing who is here and the look on his face, I'm starting to think that this is personal to me and that I'm not going to like it. "What's going on, Nick? Who's here that I need to see?" The look in his eyes makes me nervous but I remain still and quiet while I wait for him to start talking "Tony, about an hour ago Nathan, Daniel and Micky found a girl out in the forest. She claimed not to be a Rogue and she didn't smell like one either but she wouldn't tell them who she was. She would only speak to me so I came straight down here." I have no idea who it could be so I remain quiet and wait for him to explain more. The look on his face turns nervous as he takes in a deep breath and runs his free hand through his hair and I snap unable to bear the silence anymore. "Who is it, Nicky?" I feel my whole body tense up suddenly dreading his answer. "Tony, it's Ro-" Before he can finish his sentence Zero starts to lose his shit in my head. He's whining and scratching as he tries to take over control and it takes all I have to hold him back. He may be called Zero but nothing about him screams Zero. That wolf is incredibly strong and holding him back is never easy. While I manage to hold him back he starts to sniff the air in a frantic state and it's right there at that very moment that I realize what's happening and dread settles deep inside of me. No, this can't be happening... Fuck! Despite what I'm thinking or feeling right now I know I won't be able to hold Zero back for much longer, I can already feel his anger and confusion seeping into me and it tears at my heart. "Nicky who's in that cell?" "Tony, what are you doing?" I can see Nick's brain ticking over and I'm pretty sure that he's come to the same realization as I have but the shock on his face is a whole new level. "Is she your mate? Is she your second chance mate?" He takes a step closer to me as he speaks but I just get more and more anxious. I nod as Zero starts sniffing the air again and I know that I'm not going to be able to hold him back for much longer. Despite the hard work of keeping him under control, I'm kind of glad for the distraction right now because I don't have a clue how I feel about any of this and I don't want to think about it right now either "Who's my mate, Nicky, please tell me." I feel some of the aggression slowly slip away while my horse voice practically pleads with my best friend to tell me who the girl in the cell is, to tell me who my mate is. "Fuck... it's Rosie... Tony, Rosie's in the cell." Rosie? I don't know a Rosie. He's said her name like I should know who she is... Rosie... the name suddenly starts to sound familiar and then I feel my blood run cold as a face appears in my head. It can't be her though, can it? Before I know it the words leave my mouth and I instantly regret them because it's impossible "Rosie.. as in Opals Rosie? As in my first mate's little sister, Rosie?" "Yes, that Rosie." No way, there's just no way! "So you're telling me that my second chance mate is the little sister of my first mate who died?" "It would appear so, brother." "Holy fuck!" He nods but doesn't say a word and while I struggle to form words I have plenty of them running riot in my head and questions, so many questions. "I don't understand how that's even possible. She's dead... she died the same day as Opal. We searched the lands. There wasn't anyone alive, no one. We searched, Nick we searched." "I know brother, I know. I don't understand either but I asked her to wait to explain everything so that you could be here to hear everything too. I thought as her sister's mate you deserved to know what's going on but now... well, now I guess you deserve to know even more. fuck this is insane!" "You're telling me. How can this be? Are you sure it's her? You sure there's no one else down here that I haven't met before?" This just can't be true, it can't be. This can't be happening. "Why the hell would the moon goddess take away my first mate only to mate me with her sister? Please, for the love of goddess tell me this is some kind of sick joke." He instantly looks pissed while I instantly regret saying what I did. "Of course, it's not. Do you think that I would do that to you?" I drop my head down feeling slightly ashamed of myself before looking back up and straight at my best friend. "I'm sorry, brother. I know you didn't. I didn't mean to say that." He takes a step closer to me and slaps me on the shoulder. "I know, don't worry about it. Now, shall we go and find out what the hell is going on?" I nod as I feel him start to guide me towards the last cell. "You sure there's no one else down here?" He shakes his head sympathy strong in his eyes but I look away before I start to break and keep looking forward as we almost reach the cell that Rosie... that my mate is in. The moment I lay my eyes on her I feel all the air leave my lungs. She's sitting in one corner of the cell with her knees up to her chest and her arms wrapped around her legs as if she's trying to hide herself and even though I can't see her face I already know that it's her, It's Rosie and she is my mate. "Why is she in there?" I don't take my eyes off her but I still feel Nick as he comes to stand next to me. "The guys put her in here when they first brought her in. They didn't know who she was, if they had, she never would have been placed in there." I nod as I continue to watch her but not once has she looked up or at me. Surly she can feel the connection. "Usually I would have taken her out as soon as I recognized her but we don't..."
