Warrior Robbie Hearing my mate's story is hard but I'm glad that she's willing to talk to us. She's come from goddess only knows what and is currently sitting in a room with a bunch of big scary looking guys and yet, she not holding back. She's nothing if not incredibly brave thats for sure. Not that she has anything to fear from any of us but she doesn't know that, not yet anyway. "Where did you come from?" Shane asks bringing my attention back to my mate. "We were Rogues. We were only a small pack. There were maybe thirty of us. They... they killed all the men and some of the women when they put up a fight and then of course there were the ones that got away and the remaining five were taken to that camp." I'm going to hunt down every single wolf that is involved in these camps and I'm going to end them all no matter how long it takes. "So what happened when you met Talon?" Nick asks bringing the conversation back around. "He picked out a girl and told her that she was his and then he told everyone to leave but demanded I stay. It was then that he told me that I was his mate and that I would be trained and prepared so that when I turned 18 I would be ready for him to claim me and... and breed me. This was before I had even heard about any of the rumours." Yep, he's dead! I just need to decide on which way I'm going to do it. There are so many possibilities. "I've just thought of a good one!" Cain chimes in my head. "Oh wait, this one is even better!" He sings sounding very proud of himself. If this situation wasn't so serious I would laugh at the utter excitement that he is showing at killing someone. "Did you ever ask him about the rumours?" Will asks bringing my attention back to the room. Fuck, he looks as sick as I feel. "I did once. He... he told me that he was allowed to have as many women as he wanted and that I wasn't to question him about it. He told me that my job was to be his mate, stand by his side, shut the f... up when told and give him babies. He told me if I questioned him again that I would be sorry. I never brought it up again." "Aria, how long have you known Talon?" Nick asks as he clenches and unclenches his fists on top of his desk. "Two years." You have got to be fucking kidding me! Before I can say a word the door to Nick's office is slammed open and one of our warriors tumbles in through the door being held up by a panting sweaty looking Adrian. "What the fuck is going on?" Nick shouts as he rises from his chair quickly followed by everyone else in the room. Adrian settles the warrior onto one of the empty chairs but he barely seems to be conscious while Adrian struggles to get his breath back. "Adrian?" My mate suddenly shouts. His head swings in our direction and I watch as confusion and then complete relief flashes across his face when he sees my mate. "Aria, you're ok." He pants out the words still struggling to catch his breath. She nods her head giving him a small smile and this time I fail at letting out a low growl of warning, and while my mate gives me a confused look, Adrain is quick to pick up on the message and instantly gives me a nod of acknowledgement. Good, glad he got the message. "As much as I don't want to break up this reunion can you kindly tell me what the fuck is going on!" Nick growls at Adrian snapping his attention back to him. "Your prisoner... Talon... He's gone!" He huffs. "You fucking what!" I bellow unable to hold any of my anger back. I feel Aria's grip on my shirt tighten and look down to see her shaking like a shitting dog and her face as pale as a ghost. Fuck it all! I wrap my arm around her shoulders and pull her into my side. "What do you mean he's gone?" Nick growls while everyone in the room gets ready for orders. Adrian shrugs his shoulder as he rubs his neck clearly in pain. "I was on my way to the bathroom to shower, Josh here was guarding me." He points at a passed-out Josh who's sprawled across the chair. "I've linked the doc," Robbie grunts. Thank fuck he did because I'm so consumed by my mate at the moment that I didn't even think about it. "Anyway as we rounded a corner I saw Talon. At first, I thought that I was seeing things but then once I realized that he was here I decided to follow him and the warriors. I had no idea why he was here but I knew that it wouldn't be good so I decided to try and find out what was going on, see if I could help you in any way and that's when all hell broke loose." A knock at the door stops him talking and just seconds later our pack doc comes in and instantly spots Josh. We all remain quiet while the doc checks Josh over but I'm getting pissed just waiting around while Talon is on the loose and potentially getting away. Of course, as always, Nick knows what I'm thinking before I even say a word. "I've already got guards searching the house and pack lands. The guards that are on duty are on high alert also. He won't get far." Nick growls. "He better not because I'm going to-" Somehow I managed to hold back the rest of my words in front of my mate but I already know that my brothers and the other men in the room already know exactly what I was about to say. Thankfully, it's not long before the doctor is happy to move Josh to the hospital that we have on the Packlands. He fears Josh may have several injuries but has also reassured us that he is confident that he will make a full recovery which I'm grateful for but the moment the doc leaves with two warriors carrying Josh my mind instantly pushes thoughts of him aside and goes back to the prick and where the hell he is. "So Adrian. what happened?" Nick asks the moment the door is closed and I'm grateful for it. "Fuck, one minute they were walking down the corridor and the next thing three of the guards turned on the other three. They started fighting with them and killed one within seconds and that's when Josh went to try and help. It took me a minute to realise what was going on but as soon as I did I joined in. I tried to help but before I knew it all of the men were down including myself. I'm pretty sure that I was knocked out for a short while and when I came around the three warriors and Talon were running down the corridor heading for the exit. I didn't know what to do so I grabbed Josh and figured that I would bring him straight here as we weren't far away from here." The moment he finishes talking he slumps forward gripping onto the back of the chair in front of him while once again panting to catch his breath. He shouldn't be short of breath already and I'm starting to wonder if he's more injured than he's letting on. Shane and Will must think the same as me as they both step forward and guide Adrian to sit in the chair. "Ok, Adrian. First off, I want to thank you for helping Josh and bringing him here, you did the right thing. Secondly, I want you to get checked over by the doctor so I'm just going to ask you two more questions then you're going to the hospital. I'll come to you there if I need to get any more information from you. Adrian nods as he sits down and starts rubbing his chest increasing my worry. "You said that he was walking down the corridor with guards?" "That's right." Adrian agrees. "Ok, and do you know how many guards were with him?" "Six. When I started getting a bad feeling I counted them to see how outnumbered Josh and I would be." "Ok, thank you, Adrian. Connor here will take you to the hospital to get checked over. I will come and see you shortly." Nick nods toward the door where one of our warriors is waiting to escort Adrian. "He left here with six guards," Shane grunts. "Yep. and those six guards were all our men." Will growls. And then it clicks and I instantly want to murder someone. The realisation has me so angry that I struggle to rein in my temper. My mate standing next to me is the only thing that's keeping me under control right now. "So if what Adrain said is true then that means that three of our guards have turned against us and helped him escape," I growl.
