I Became a God After the Apocalypse Game
Aiden smiled. "Absolutely. You'll have more than you can eat." Thor's eyes narrowed. "Fine. We'll wait." They didn't buy the story yet, but they could wait. Not like they would lose anything. They stood together in quiet anticipation. Moments later, the forest trembled as the sound of hooves and wheels echoed through the air. Dust rose in the distance while a convoy of silver-armored guards approached, pulling a carriage so large it looked like a rolling fortress. On its back sat a mountain of sacks, piled high and packed full of rice. Even the sunlight seemed to glow brighter against it. … "My lord, the supplies are here." The lead guard dismounted quickly, his tone respectful. "Lady Riley also asked me to inform you she's in discussions regarding your knighthood ceremony. She sends her apologies for not being here in person.""Understood," Aiden replied with a nod. Thor stepped closer, voice trembling. "Is that all rice?" He was staring at the sacks. "Go ahead," Aiden said easily. "See for yourself." Thor didn't need another word. He climbed up, sliced open a bag with his calloused hand, and the sound of rice spilling out filled the air. Grains poured down like a white waterfall, cascading onto the ground in glittering waves. "By Hephaestus! It's real! Actual rice!" Thurinn let out a choked cry and threw himself at the pile. He scooped up handfuls of rice and shoved them into his mouth, his eyes wet with tears. They had spent years eating mineral substitutes, grinding roots just to get by. Real rice was a luxury beyond dreams, a taste reserved for rituals long forgotten. "Thurinn!" Thor roared, slamming his hammer on Thurinn's head with a deafening thud. "Are you out of your mind? This isn't worthless ore! It's rice! You tore open the bag and wasted half of it already!"The hit would've crushed any normal man, but Thurinn didn't even flinch. He kept eating, sniffling like a child caught stealing candy. The Dwarves were sturdily built. "Pathetic," Thor grumbled. "You're a disgrace to all Dwarves." Still, he crouched down, picked up a single grain, and placed it on his tongue. He closed his eyes as a look of pure bliss crossed his face. "Exquisite. Almost flawless." The guards exchanged looks, unsure what to think. Raw rice? Was that really worth crying over? Thor snapped out of it and gave Thurinn another hard whack. "Stop eating! You're embarrassing us!" Then he turned to Aiden, his eyes glimmering with gratitude. "All this rice… it's really for us?" Aiden nodded, a faint smile playing on his lips. "Not just rice. Marks can buy meat, vegetables, and plenty of other food." "Meat?" Thor's voice broke. "You're telling me one million marks can buy meat? How much?" If this was true, it was bliss. The world itself felt unreal. His knees wobbled, and for a moment, he looked ready to faint from happiness. Aiden chuckled softly. "I'm not exactly sure, but I'd assume you can buy meat in tons." "Tons?!" Thor gasped, clutching his chest like he was having a heart attack. "Stop! Don't say another word! I can't handle this!" His voice cracked with panic. "Give me that artifact right now. I'll appraise it immediately! Hell, I'll appraise ten of them if you want! "Now! Right this second!" Only then did Thor finally grasp what a million marks truly meant. Ding! Favorability with Thor +20.' Ding! Favorability with Thurinn +20.' Aiden passed him the Ravager Horn without hesitation. "Give me a moment," Thor said, gripping the artifact tightly before disappearing in a blur of motion. Moments later, the sound of hammering exploded through the air."Hup! Hup!" Thor's voice echoed, followed by two violent metallic crashes that shook the earth beneath them. A blast of crimson light burst across the forest, staining the trees in shades of blood and sunset. When Thor returned, his eyes burned with triumph. He held the Ravager Horn in both hands, now shrunken to the size of a thumb. Black threads coiled tightly around it, and its surface shimmered with a dazzling glow. It was clear that the dwarven craftsmanship had revealed the artifact's true form.
