I Became a God After the Apocalypse Game
It's totally possible! "I'm telling you, I gotta check the Global Leaderboard right now. Don't tell me Nighthale is using this chaos to grind bosses and shoot up levels?" BigBadGale practically lunged at the Global Leaderboard. A second later, he let out a yell. "Holy crap!" "How high is he now?" the others asked, suddenly alert. BigBadGale stumbled over his words. "L-Level 35." Greenwhisper stayed quiet for a moment before speaking. "If I'm not mistaken, Nighthale was at 31 yesterday." "Yeah." BigBadGale nodded. "These beasts only showed up about four hours ago. Which means he went up roughly a level every hour." Greenwhisper did the math, and the more he worked it out, the more absurd it sounded. "That... That means he must've taken down a ridiculous number of bosses!" BigBadGale just stared, completely thrown. We all know grinding bosses gives crazy good experience, but hitting one level per hour at around Level 30? Man, that's just… what? Vanessa scrunched up her expression and counted on her fingers. "This experience thing, let me see… one times seven is seven, two times seven is forty-eight, three times eight is International Women's Day, five times one is Labor Day…" "Alright, stop," Greenwhisper muttered. "The more you count, the more it hurts. Just remember one thing. People like us will never figure out how Nighthale thinks. He's basically treating this like some side dungeon to grind experience." They kept chatting among themselves. … On the other side, Aiden had no idea they were talking about him behind his back. He didn't have a savior complex where he felt the need to rescue everyone. The reason he stepped in was exactly what he'd said earlier. He happened to walk by and figured he might as well take down the boss on his way through.Even without Greenwhisper and the others, that Elite Boss wouldn't have survived. Still, he couldn't help feeling a little sentimental. After living through the brutality of Doomsday in his last life, he knew exactly how rare it was for people to stick together when everything fell apart. "If more folks were like that, this world might actually be kind of interesting." Aiden smiled. "Come on, Gray." Judging by the time, he figured he should head to the main battlefield. "Argh!" Gray let out a roar. It didn't really care where they went anyway. Once he made up his mind, Aiden didn't waste another second hunting for low-level bosses. He took Gray with him and headed straight for where the Three Lord-level bosses were gathered. As they moved forward, the closer they got to the main battlefield, the more he felt the brutality of the eerie intrusion. Leafport's forces were completely tied down by the Three Lord-level bosses.Even with someone like Merrick holding the line, the area he guarded was mostly Westhand, and he still had to keep one of the Lord-level bosses in check. That made it almost impossible for him to look after the rest of the city. Leafport was just too big. The city's defenders had fought hard and bought time for the women and children to escape, but plenty of people still died at the hands of the eerie creatures. Skyscrapers had collapsed. A once thriving city had turned into piles of shattered stone and twisted steel. Bodies were everywhere. The air was thick with the stench of blood. The ground looked soaked in red. Even with Aiden's mental toughness, seeing the devastation with his own eyes made his chest tighten. It's brutal! Eerie creatures have no sense of reason at all. Every living thing that comes into their sight gets attacked without mercy. Their only purpose is pure destruction. After clearing out all the low-level bosses along the way, Aiden finally made it outside the city."Gray, head back." Just to be safe, Aiden sent Gray back to beast space. The central battlefield and the beasts inside the city are on entirely different levels. Gray might be a Mythical Beast, but he hasn't really grown into his full power yet. And… Level 50 is a wall for anyone—players, NPCs, or wild monsters. Beyond that, the jump in strength is massive. Most of the bosses here are around Level 60 to 70. If anything happens to Gray, it won't just be a minor problem—it would be a disaster. As for me, thanks to the massive shield from Rich Man's Defense, my durability is insane. That's exactly why I can take on Lord-level bosses. Otherwise, just a scratch from a boss this strong could take me out instantly. Of course, I'm not dumb enough to rush in recklessly. He pulled out the communication token and tapped in the call. "Merrick, you there? I need a favor." After a beat, Merrick's voice burst through, furious and out of breath. "Kid, you better have a d*mn good reason. I'm being swarmed right now… I swear! You dare hit me from behind? Die!" Then came a rush of frantic wind over the line. No surprise, Merrick is probably busy working on his close-range boxing drills…"Hmm…" Aiden rubbed his chin. Looks like the fight is brutal enough that he's already pulling out the identical trump cards he uses when he's beating on the Radiant Dragon…
