Chapter 102 Four Deaths Too Many

The young man clicked his tongue in irritation. "Maybe hitting that level made him feel invincible. He probably thinks he can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with me. The kid's clueless about where he belongs. He's about to learn how foolish it was to provoke Bryan Hammond." His eyes narrowed. "Swiftwind." Swiftwind stepped forward. "Here, Mr. Hammond." Bryan tapped his boot against the ground. "Your assassin kit includes stealth. Respawn Point 4 sits near Eastguard. You can reach it in a few minutes. Take a look, and grab whatever you can before Nighthale scoops it all up." Swiftwind grimaced. "His pet breaks stealth. I won't last ten seconds." "That sounds like your problem." Bryan's tone turned icy. "I only care about what you bring me." Swiftwind compressed a breath through his teeth. "Understood." He triggered stealth mode.A voice drifted from behind him before he entirely disappeared. "No need for that. I didn't touch the equipment. Judging by how this goes, he won't need it much longer." The low tone froze the air. Bryan's head snapped upward just as Aiden strode in. A fireball streaked down from the sky and detonated on impact. Ding! 'You have taken 3,215 damage.' Bryan had barely respawned before his body dispersed again. Every player in the area stiffened, surprised that Nighthale would attack inside a respawn point. This location had stricter rules than the central hub, and even NPCs avoided trouble here. The respawn point was almost sacred. Yet, this reckless individual clearly didn't care about the consequences. "I'll keep this simple. Don't move. Unless you want to vanish with him." Aiden swept his gaze across the group. "One or a dozen, the outcome feels the same to me."Swiftwind and the others went rigid instantly. No one twitched. "Good choice." Aiden's grin carried a cold glint. There was always a reason behind his fights. He never targeted random players. Every strike had a culprit. If someone came after him first, the rules would shift entirely. Bryan snapped, "Nighthale! What do you want? Another kill?" White light flashed. He reappeared, face ghostly pale. Two consecutive deaths had sliced nearly half his maximum attributes. Three more would erase his life in the real world. Aiden's lips curled. "No. You've got four more to go." Bryan's voice cracked. "Don't push this any further. Consider this your warning. If I die again, everyone tied to you—your family, your friends, anyone close—comes with me."Aiden lifted a brow. "Still running your mouth at death's door, huh? Impressive." Another fireball flew. Ding! 'You have taken 3,267 damage.' Bryan vanished a third time. "Threats mean nothing to me." Aiden watched the white glow scatter and let out a small, amused breath. No one stands with me in real life. I've got no attachments and no one fate can yank around. The only ones tied to my name are greedy relatives clawing for company shares... and Piper. If the backlash hits them instead of me... Wait. That's actually a win. Aiden blinked once, amused by the absurdity. A threat turns into a perk. Even dying, he hands me something useful. Aww... how kind of him. For a heartbeat, Aiden almost felt grateful, like he shouldn't be killing him at all. White light shimmered again.Bryan respawned for the second time. Two more deaths would drag his real life down with it. The fear finally carved through his arrogance. He lowered his voice. "I know I crossed the line earlier. I apologize. If you stop now, I'll compensate you. Anything—" A fireball answered him. Another crimson 3,289 damage flashed above his head, and he disappeared. Aiden launched it before Bryan finished speaking. No interest in conversation. "One left," Aiden remarked. Swiftwind and the others trembled. Terror washed through their eyes. They knew Bryan acted like a spoiled tyrant. His background, though, reached terrifying heights. Crossing him usually meant disaster. To see someone this powerful executed publicly, the resulting storm would be beyond imagination. Yet, none understood Nighthale's composure. Why doesn't he hesitate? Why isn't he afraid? Could it be... he truly fears nothing at all? Their thoughts changed nothing. White light erupted once more. Bryan materialized for the fifth time, terror twisting his entire expression. "Nighthale! You're done! Do you hear me? You're finished! Your whole family dies with me!"
