Caught Between Two Alphas

Chapter 238 Let's Stop Now That There Is Still Time

BETA TIM’S POV I noticed that Dawn was trying to push away and I made my way to her side. We need her here for the sacrifice, and not go die in some battle. I wonder why the young men were so eager to give up their lives for her. One of them is in the prime of his youth and the other is yet to understand what life is all about let alone grasp what death entails. They fought with great skill and enthusiasm and even our men appear to be no match for the little boy that I had looked down on all along. They fought side by side with their backs against each other, defeating and disarming our men as they come. “So you have made some name for yourself with the Pixies, right? They fight for you like those protecting their queen” I asked with some pint of hate. In response, she begged on their behalf. “Please let him go, father. You can take me instead. Let them go, please” She was not seeing the battle as her eyes were blindfolded. Maybe if she was I will be the one begging her. Life meant nothing to this two, and if it does, they don’t show it. “And why should I? They came here on their own accord” I asked while keeping my gaze on the ongoing battle. “Landon is my mate, father, and Lalic... Lalic...” I wept. She has a mate already, what other surprises would she come up with? But she was meant for the alpha. I see she didn’t just betray us but also went ahead to get herself entangled with a Pixie. But if the young man is her mate, who then is the little boy, or does the man already have a son? She actually got an already used mate, the girl disgusts me? “Your son? The boy should be about ten. When did you have a son like that?” I asked. I don’t know why, but my heart was pained. I felt completely disappointed in a daughter that I had always bragged about since she was born. And to think I actually considered giving my life in her place. This is a terrible blow to my person. “No... no... he is the... queen’s... son. Let them go” she revealed. At this point, I drew back unconsciously. What, the boy is the prince of Pixolands and he is here to fight for Dawn? What have we got ourselves into? This is not the assurance that Mildrid gave me.Every one of our men also drew back as they heard Dawn refer to the little boy as the queen’s son. None of them want to fight against the prince or get involved with the queen in any way. If Dawn was already this relevant in Pixolands, why then had I made an enemy of them? If they care about my daughter this way, then they would surely care about me once they realize my type of person and the extent of my loyalty. If this is the case, there is no need to continue fighting against the Pixies. But Mildrid, was she aware of this fact? Did she know this all along but decided to keep it away from me? I will wait and find out soon, only time will tell. As Mildrid saw that the men had drawn back in fear, she ordered the zombies who had been standing watch all this while. “Take over, don’t let them last a second longer” “Mildrid...” I called to show my displeasure with her order but she was having none of it. “Keep shut right away, Tim” she yelled. She just screamed at me in front of everyone? I have never seen this side of her before. It was as if I don’t even know her. She knows what would happen if anything happens to the prince, why is she still bent on getting rid of him? Why don’t we just stop now that there is still time? “Landon, Lalic... please watch out. Be careful those are not human but zombies” Dawn screamed as soon as she figured out that they were about to fight with the zombies. “Yes, Dawn, we would” Landon replied. He said to Lalic. “Boy, be careful around them, don’t let them bite you or allow their blood get to you” Lalic chuckled and angrily used his sword to cut off the neck of one of the zombies. They were about eleven zombies fighting against them. “Their blood got no hold on me, uncle Landon,” he replied. If I thought I have seen a fierce battle before, then I am completely wrong. The fight against the zombies was nothing that I have ever seen before. Was it the swiftness of the duo, or the resilience of the zombies who were unafraid of death? It was as if I was watching the gods come down to fight against the monsters of the earth. I know whose side I should be on in this fight, but unfortunately, I am on the side of the duo. Their fighting skill and prowess are impressive and completely out of this world. The men that had stopped fighting all rushed over to the far end. They are afraid of taking sides. They would not want to fight against the queen, and no sane human would want to stand up to zombies. The sight before us was a gory one as heads and different parts of the zombies flew in the air and littered the ground. Heaps of different body parts could be seen everywhere.Just as expected, the defeated zombies rise again and continue to fight even without the crucial parts of their bodies. It was not a fair battle. It takes killing a zombie about three times to completely get rid of it, and it seems the duo is equal to the task. However, much to the terror of the duo, many more zombies kept trooping in and joining forces with their cohorts. It was as if I was watching the battle that would bring about the end of the world. This was what Mildrid always proclaimed about, a time when her zombies would take over the world and fight for her alone. While all this was going on, she remained by the side performing some incarnation which I believe is the reason for more zombies trooping in. “Father, please stop this” Dawn begged when the sound of the fighting was becoming deafening. “I can't, what do you think I am, a wizard?” I replied. She sobbed profusely, saying. “Nothing... no... thing... must happen to them... I am... am... ready to die... instead” I completely ignored her and continued with my viewing. Maybe I would have tried to stop it if I was not enjoying it, and completely captivated by it, or if the zombies were winning. I would have done all I could to rescue the little prince. But the zombies seem to be no match for the little prince. He fought as if he had always rehearsed this fighting scene before now. But then, just like magic, things began to go wrong. I don’t know how, but it was no longer a feast day for the duo.
