Caught Between Two Alphas
DAWN’S POV When I climbed to the window, I found that the iron bars were slightly wider by now. It gabs created by her bending the irons were small, but if I would squeeze myself really tight if should be able to come out in no time. I might get some little tears and scratches here and there in the process but it does not matter as my wolf would make me heal in no distance time. I just have to make sure to take some tetanus injections after here as the irons were very rusty. “Now you climb out carefully. I know it isn’t wide enough but this is the much I could go. These are ancient irons and very strong too. There are not like what we have this day” she encouraged. “Don’t worry, Gina, I will try to get out. I think it is wide enough” I replied. I was already so contented with as much as she had done. Now it is left for me to do the rest and get myself out. Pulling away was not an easy task and even though my head has found its way out, my shoulder could not pass. I tried to struggle through it but got some tears in the process. Suddenly, I heard the movement of the zombie out and the sound of the keys on the iron door. 'Oh no, please moon goddess, don't let him open it' I prayed silently. “And what has this girl been up to?” the zombie asked. I could feel that he was still trying to open the door and come and take a look at me. Gina gave me a knowing sign and I started to breathe out loud while she held her breath so that her presence would not be detected. “You just let her be” the other zombie grumbled. He hated to be woken from sleep. “She has been unusually quiet for too long” the zombie complained. “Poor girl is only waiting for the morning to come” the other replied with a loud yawn. “Okay” he paused and I was almost happy that he had given up but then he said. “Let me see for myself then. How is she even able to sleep in such a state? This cell is the worse I have ever seen” The keys turned again and he tried to push the door open. His light was already shining in the room. Seeing this, I coughed and yawned loudly hoping it would satisfy his doubts. “I think you want her disturbance. See you will have to enter that cell with her if I should hear her voice again” the other threatened.“Oh... she is sleeping. I just heard her cough. I better leave her for the time being. Her father will deal with her just the way he likes” he said. Much to our delight, the door and he was gone. Seeing that I have just had a narrow escape, I put in enough effort, and soon my shoulder made its way out and it was soon followed by the rest of my body. “I will fix this back and clean out the blood now. I don’t want anyone to know how you got out” Gina informed me. I wanted her not to worry about that and let us escape while there is still time. But I know that straightening the iron and cleaning out all traces of blood would be for the best because if it is left like that, my father would suspect that someone aided my escape and he would stop at nothing to get such a person. I assisted in bending the irons to their previous state and also clean the blood. Soon we were done and she said. “We will go through the back. We walk quietly and behind the shadows of the trees for a while and once we are completely out of hearing we would shift into our wolves and takeoff” “Okay” I agreed and she grabbed my hands and led me off. We kept by the shadows of the trees to conceal our presence. “How did you find me?” I inquired as we kept moving. I was already very curious and would like to know how she happens to know exactly where I was and what was about to become of me. “I was at the marketplace when I saw you. I learned that you had been missing and I was so delighted to finally see you. In joy I was about to come to you when that man showed up” she replied. “I followed them here when I saw them leave with you. I was already suspecting your father and I knew this was not going to be good” she stopped. After listening to her, I was moved by her kindness. “Thanks, Gina,” I said. “You know I would do even more for you, Dawn” she replied. “But then we...” I wanted to remind her how we parted ways. We are not friends anymore and she owes me nothing. “Stop Dawn, it was all my fault and I have learned my lessons. I learned it the hard way though. Alpha Ray later discovered my lies and turned me into a slave in his castle. He only allowed having access out of the house these days because of the defeat in the war” she explained. As I listened to her, I noticed the difference in her. She has changed a lot. She is no longer that pompous Gina that I once knew, right before me was a different person entirely. One that would not only think of her benefits before acting. “I think we can shift now. We will go to Crystal Realms Pack, I have where to conveniently hide you for the meantime” she said. “I would like to find my way to the packhouse first. We would be caught before we get to Crystal Realms Pack” I replied. “Oh yes... going to Crystal Realms is a long distance and we might not be able to keep away from the zombies for too long” she agreed. “I fear that we might be caught. Please for me, let’s run separately. You will take the bush path, while I keep to the road. Keep your eyes on me and never admit that we are together. Should you be caught, insist that you came for a wolf run in the moon, and should I be caught, do all you can to speak to the queen” I requested. GINA’S POV “The queen” I exclaimed. “Yes, the queen. She will come for me the moment she discovers that I am in trouble” she replied. “You... you and... the queen... I heard about her, she is not just anybody. She is great. How did... you...” I stuttered. I have heard of the queen, and she is not just anyone. Who is Dawn to her for her to care so much to find her? “It is a long story, Gina, and I promise that you will know everything soon. Just do all you can to meet with the queen” she replied. “You have a mate now?” I asked. I noticed a difference about her, one that can only come with finding a mate. She smiled. “Yes, Gina. But he is in Pixolands at the moment” “I am happy for you, dear” I smiled. I thought as much, she is a mate to the brother of the queen. We shifted and started to run. We have been running separately for about thirty minutes when I noticed someone jumped in front of Dawn’s wolf. I ran inside the woods, while she kept to the road track. Even as she was waylaid by the man, she did not stop but kept running to get away from him but he seemed to be quicker than her. He appeared in front of her the moment she moves in the opposite direction. I was frightened, I wanted to go and rescue her but that would be even worse. We would both get into trouble and have no one to save us. But who is that man, is he one of the zombies, and why does he seem to be playing games with Dawn’s wolf? I moved further away and kept my eyes on the situation. I need to see where this leads before leaving.
