DAWN’S POV I rode off happily in my wolf form after I had shifted. I was returning home, going back to the people that mean a whole lot to me in this life. I love my sister, Scarlet, and would not mind staying with her forever, and I also love Landon more than words can explain. But then there is my family, those who thought me all life means. It has been a long time and I already miss them so terribly. I love every one of them and I want to be with them again. I want their blessings for me and Landon and I know that one day, Landon and I would return to them, and maybe then we would bring our kids along. Finally, I crossed the borders of Black Moon and arrived at my Pack, Diamond Cut Pack. The joy that I felt stepping foot once again in my land knew no bounds. I was back home, back to where I belonged. I increased my speed and kept to the bush part. At the speed with which I am going, I will arrive at the mansion in half an hour. I cannot wait to be in my mother’s embrace and enjoy her cooking. Soon it started to snow lightly, and I rejoiced in the euphoria of the welcoming weather. It wasn’t long before the snow stopped and looking ahead, I saw the beautiful structure of the mansion awaiting my arrival. I found my way to the back of the mansion. And finally, I arrived at a little cabin situated at the back of the mansion. This is where a usually come to change into my human form and I have some of my clothes carefully arranged in an old box inside the cabin. I also come to relax here most times especially when I feel the mansion was getting toxic for me, on those days when I feel things aren't as they should be in the mansion, especially with Scarlet. I find my solace inside this old cabin. I looked around the cabin, everything was just the way I left it, nothing has changed except for the dust and some generous amount of cobwebs. I will make sure to get one of the servants to come and clean up this place now that I am here. I finally found my favorite spot and shifted to my human form. My favorite spot is the part of the cabin decorated with flowers and good art pieces. My wolf would never stop admiring the pretty drawings on the wall and the fine art sculptures. The flowers were already covered with dust and the arts are not clear anymore due to the invasion of dust and cobwebs, but my wolf still found them appealing. Anyways, when it is all cleared up, we would come and have a nicer view. This is my promise to her. I went to the old box and found for myself cloth which is manageable at the moment. When I get to the mansion, I will change into something better.After wearing the cloth, I dashed off to the mansion. When I got to the mansion, I opened the gate and went in. I saw that everywhere was unusually quiet and there was not a single soul in sight. This was strange. The mansion used to be bubbling with servants, people, and guests, so what is happening? Or is it a result of the war? Reluctantly I made my way to the front door. I have to go in and look around. Surely, there must be at least one person inside. I opened the door and was going to take the second step inside when I heard my name. “Miss Dawn, is that you miss Dawn?” I turned around and saw one of the maids coming toward me. “Selena" I called. "Yes, it is me” I responded. “Oh, fair mother, we have been looking for you. We were so worried that something terrible might have happened to you. Ma Patricia has never been herself since you left” Selena said. “Thanks. And where is everyone? The whole place looks deserted” I asked. “Oh... that. No one is around at the moment. You see, so much had happened since you left. The war...” My heart skipped I beat as I listened to her. My heart was hanging in my mouth. What has happened, and where is my mother? Where are my father and brothers? I couldn’t let her finish. “What has happened, where is my mother, Selena?” I asked. “You see, my lady, there was a great war after you...” I angrily cut in. “I know about the war already, now tell me where to find my mother. I need to see her now” “Oh, yes, you need to see her...” I don’t know what is wrong with her, or why is she finding it difficult to answer a simple question. “Selena, where is everyone? I want to see them right now?” I demanded with a growl. She is an omega wolf, and so my growl terrified her and she took a step back in fear. I took two steps toward her, gnashing my teeth. “Speak” I yelled. “I am so sorry my lady. Just that there are two places that you can look for your parents now, I don’t know if they are together and I don’t know the exact place you would find any of them” she pleaded in fear. “Speak out, where are these places?” I asked. I have already lost my patience. Does she by chance think that I have the time for one of her dramas? If she pulls this string any further, I will tear her to shreds. “Ma Patricia went out early this morning. She had gone to the packhouse but I can't say if she is still there. If not, then she must be in the market. But then, I am very certain that sir Tim would be in the market by this time” she responded. I could hear the frightful beating of her heart. “The packhouse or the market. So where do you say I look for them now?” I asked. The distance between both places is long and it is not possible to pass from one to the other as they are on different sides of the Pack. “I would say the market, come with me, I will take you there” she responded. That sounds better, I will follow her. When we get to the market, she would know the exact spot to find my parents. “Okay. Lead me to them right away” I demanded. With a smile, Selena led the way out of the mansion while I followed behind. But as we left, some thoughts would not just depart from my head. What if my parents are at the market, where are the other members of the mansion? What about my brothers, why did I not meet any of them? Nevertheless, I know that these questions would be taken care of soon after I meet either of my parents.
