DAWN’S POV Having Landon as my mate is more than I had ever wished for. The moon goddess was not wrong, he is the best man for me. “Hey, darling” I heard Landon’s voice from behind me. I looked back and saw him standing there with a hydrangea flower in his hand. The sight of him sent some butterflies into my stomach. I have been waiting here in the garden for some minutes now knowing he will come looking for me. I love to spend some quality time with him here in this beautiful garden. I found a spot for us under a shade that overlooks the beautiful stream. It is our favorite spot since we became mates. “Come on, don’t tell me that I kept you waiting for too long,” he said when he got no response from me. I was lost staring at his amazing body and was literally eye-fucking him. I could not say anything to this lovely man that has thought me so much in such a little time. He has thought me what true love means since the day he claimed me as his mate. He is always by my side and whenever he wants to go out, he makes sure to have a guard accompany me until he returns. I can never get too much of him. “Okay, I am here now, and I promise to make up for whatever it is,” he said and came to sit on the mat with me. “Hey...” I finally found my tongue. “It is a beautiful day, right. What about we go swimming?” he asked and then planted a deep kiss on my lips. “That will be lovely” I responded. “For you” he handed the flowers to me. I collected them. They are so beautiful and smell so nice. “They are beautiful, Landon” I cried. “And that is why I brought them to you. The only thing that is more beautiful than these flowers is you” he replied and I blushed. “Stop flattering me already, darling,” I said. “I am saying the truth” he held me closer to him. “Seeing your beautiful face each day brightens my day. You are the best thing to happen to me. You came when I thought that I will never find a mate. I will cherish you with all I have got” he promised. “Thanks, Landon. Thanks for loving me more than I had ever imagined” I replied. “Having you by my side for the rest of my days on earth is all I pray to the moon goddess for and I will dedicate the rest of my life to make you happy” he professed. “I love you, Landon, and loving you makes my life complete” I replied. He never fails to profess his love for me each new day. Even on days when he is in camp, he makes sure to sneak back to the palace just to tell me how much I mean to him. He has not marked me yet but I know that will be soon. I can't wait for the day that I will be formally claimed by him. “Come on let’s lie down for a while. We will go swimming at sunset” he said. “Then are you staying here tonight, you don’t intend to return to camp?” I asked. “I am back for a few days. There is nothing going on in the camp at the moment. Just drinking and partying all day and night. So I better spend more time with my lady” he replied. I smiled. “I love having you with me. See I brought some food, why don’t we eat first?” I suggested. “Okay. I am famished right now” he agreed. I took out the plates and arranged some salad for us. I brought along some salad and steak for lunch. “Wow, this looks appealing,” he said with a yawn. “I can't wait to get their taste” he added. I smiled at him and went ahead with dishing the food. LANDON’S POV The sight of the food was inviting and I can't wait to devour it. Having Dawn as mine is the best thing to ever happen to me. She is just as sweet as her sister, the luna. Okay maybe she is not exactly like the luna but she is doing her best to improve and become a better person and I love this about her. After dishing out the food, she placed it in front of us with a bottle of red wine. “Here we are” she announced. We ate and drank together and after that, we lay on the mat with her head resting on my chest. The chirpings of the birds filled the atmosphere and the lovely rays of the sun fell on us. I admired the sight of the butterflies flying around the garden and the lovely birds as they flew in their pairs and sang sweet songs. Nature feels so fulfilling as I was with the one I love. “How long do you intend to wait before marking me?” she asked. “I want us to have a wedding first. I will discuss it with the luna” I replied. I can't wait to be done with all the formalities. I never knew that this was how it feels to be in love. Since I found Dawn, nothing about me has remained the same. I never knew that my life has been incomplete all along as no day passes without me wanting to see her. She means the world to me, she is all I ever dream of each night. Her charm fills my soul and her scent makes me whole. “Yes. We don’t need to have a big wedding. Just a little ceremony will be okay for me. But then, I am thinking of seeing my parents first. My father betrothed me to alpha Fred and I have to get him to cut it off” she revealed. “You are? Did you accept such arrangement?” I asked. “What can I do? At the point I thought it was the best for me. Moreover, who are we to dare to go against our father” she replied. She doesn’t need to tell me more, I already know his kind of person. “And the alpha, what is his opinion on all of this?” I asked. “He did not say a thing. It was obvious that he is not in support but he didn’t want to go against my father” she replied. I sighed. “We are mates now and there is nothing that he can do about it” I said. “See you can remain here with me. We are mates and your father has no role to play in this” I requested. I am not denying the fact that her father is important, but knowing who beta Tim is, I think it is better to leave him out. I don’t want any of his numerous troubles. “Okay, let’s see how it goes. I might just have to send a message to them and update them on the happenings in my life. Not like they care about me” she replied. “That would be better. Maybe on a good day, we can visit them together but I don’t know how long that will be” I agreed. That should be the best in this situation. She is mine now, and her father has no role to play in it. He is a man with a huge ego and he might feel that I am not good enough for his daughter. “We will be swimming later on, right?” she asked. “Yes, towards evening” I replied.“I can't wait to have a swim in the water,” she said. “And I can't wait to make you mine fully” I replied. She giggled and placed her hand on my face. It feels great to be with her, and I pray this moment lasts forever as they will be no me without her. She is my life.
