ALPHA FRED’S POV “My... my Chamlar” I stuttered. Another demand? What else would she demand? Just now she demanded that I offered something to save Carl and Hedrick but I could not even think of anything that would be worth it. What other demands does she have and how would I be able to meet such demands? She has everything with her, and even my situation right now is far worse than that of a captive. I have no idea of what would become of me next. “You will be of no use to me if you cannot meet my demand” she stated. “May I know your demand, Chamlar?” I requested. Now I know that this is just a ploy to finally get rid of me. She sees me as I threat anyway and it is only proper that she removes all threats. The only that I can offer right now is my life. Everything other thing has been taken away by her. SCARLET’S POV If he is going to remain alive then I must ensure that he does not constitute a threat to my reign in the future. I must do what I should to constrain such. He must meet my demands, he must do all that I want him to. Not just for himself, but for the sake of his people. I have no use for their lives, and their death would bring some peace to me. All this depends on alpha Fred. For his own good, he must willingly and fully submit to me. “You already know that I have a lot of Packs under me. So much so that the three brother Packs mean nothing to me. Not the lands per se, but the people. Only you can ensure their continual existence” I stopped. “Tell me what you want, my Chamlar. I will do anything to protect their lives” he assured. “Are you ready to sacrifice even your own life for theirs?” I paused and watched his demeanor. His countenance remained the same, completely expressionless. “But of course, I would not be requiring that you give up your life. They are over a thousand of them and you are just one” I stopped. “I will do whatever you demand, my Chamlar” he assured again. “What I want most from my territories is loyalty, unfettered loyalty” I revealed.There must be no threat to my reign. I don’t take likely to it. I guard all that is mine with jealousy, and I don’t entertain any form of competition or rivalry. If the three brother Packs are going to be mine, then the alphas must be loyal to only me. Yes, I intend to keep alpha Fred over there as it makes for an easier transgression of power than changing the whole cabinet of the Pack. I will only disperse with whoever it is I don’t want. “I will remain loyal to you, we will all remain forever loyal to you” he pledged. He is sincere in his words, I can see right through his heart. “I want your loyalty the most, Fred, and with this, I will let you continue to oversee the affairs of Diamond Cut Pack” I demanded. “I will forever remain loyal to you, my Chamlar. I give you my words” he replied. I like the fact that he is ready to work under me. He does not have much choice though but at least he is not a prideful fellow. I must admit that it is rare to see an alpha like him. He will be good to administer my territory fairly. ALPHA FRED’S POV I could not understand what was going on anymore. I am the enemy here, already way below her. Why would she even consider having someone like me by her side? Right now, I am only but a servant to her and of no significance. Or is she trying to test me? If that is the case, then I must be very careful lest I fail her test. I must make her understand that I don’t yearn for anything more than being her loyal servant. “My... my Chamlar, isn’t that too fair a price? And what is she saying about me agreeing to this long ago? I can swear that I have never met her before now. Now I realize that I must be very careful, if not for myself, but for the sake of my people. For the sake of the lives of the people in the three brother Packs. “I did... What exactly is the queen talking about, why does it feel like she is only looking for the best way to get rid of me? From what I know, she already has the king of the Pixies and the lord of the rogues as hers, why would she seek to add a defeated me to the list? If she so desires, these two men can oversee the alphas of all her territories and they would be no loopholes. I am of no use to her and I know it. “I am sorry if I have ever stepped on your toe unknowingly, my Chamlar. It must have been borne out of sheer ignorance. I accept whatever punishment that you may prescribe for me, I deserve all of it” I appealed. “I am a very jealous person, alpha Fred, and I will never forgive betrayer of any form. I also do not condone divided loyalty. That is, what is mine must be fully mine and mine alone. I like my kings to be mine and only answerable to me as this would ensure unquestionable loyalty on their part” she said. “I will always remain loyal to you, my Chamlar” I pledged for the umpteenth time. “I can give you a chance to decide, but that would be after this. If it turns out that this is not what you have always desired, then I will not force you” she said. “I will do whatever my Chamlar wants” I promised. I don’t think there is any need to go over this.
