Caught Between Two Alphas
LANDON’S POV The deal was not to appear before her until after the sacrifice is completed yesterday, so I can go to her now. Even though the witch failed, that doesn’t mean I should never see my luna again. A new witch is here again, Luesa. They say she is great, but I don’t believe in witches. I never had and never will. They ask for a thing but hidden behind what they demand are a whole lot of other outrageously obnoxious demands. They are all the same. “Where is the Chamlar?” I asked a maid I came across. “General Landon, she is in her chambers” the maid replied. “Oh... thanks,” I said and walked away. Luesa is here so why isn’t she with her at the Chamlee’s chamber? Anyway, I have to see her and find out. So I made my way to her chambers. She is not going to ask me out of her presence forever, I know she cannot do that. one way or the other, she must have to face me. I care about her like a sister, I have always done. The first time I met her was at her marriage with alpha Jake. On that day, I saw how helpless she was. She tried to conceal it, but I know she is a girl devoid of love from her people. Even upon coming to Black Moon Pack, she was never loved by her husband. He spent all his time with his mistress and left the luna all to herself. I watched her distress. She fought to have her husband to herself and back then I felt broken that there was nothing I could do for her. She is a good woman and does not deserve to be treated like nothing. My desire to take her pains away was the reason why I did not hesitate to come along with her the first chance I got. I am willing to give my life in her stead. All these are the reasons why I could not just stand by and pretend that everything is alright even when I know that something is about to go terribly wrong. I do not blame her, I know how difficult it is for one to accept the losing a partner, especially one like Chamlee. I know she is ready to do everything to keep him with her a little longer. And that is why I have gone to a great extent to research on my notions. I cannot talk to her about those, at least not yet. I know I mean well but sometimes not taking any action may be the best expression of love. I will allow her to do her will, but I can't guarantee just how much longer I can hold on. I got to her chambers and the maid standing at the door went in to announce my presence. Soon she came out informed me that the Chamlar is ready to see me and so I went in. “You are here, my Chamlar,” I said as soon as I saw her. In the room with her are Atoor, Lara, and Rich. They were all seated on the sofa and so I joined them. “Landon” she called. “Luesa is here. She must be attending to the Chamlee right now and you...” I said but she cut in. “She demands to be left alone with him. However, Kendra and Mia are there too. I should wait here, I think it might help to reduce my anxiety” she explained. “I see,” I replied with a nod. “It will be alright, my Chamlar. It is said that Luesa had handled even more serious cases than this one. the Chamlee will be completely healed today” Atoor consoled. “I can't believe Eval was using dark magic on our Chamlee. And we all thought he was in the process of recovering. Now he is even in a worse state than she met him” Rich lamented as he gritted his teeth. “I think Luesa is different, we should keep our hopes high,” Lara said. “So I heard too. I sincerely hope that she is as good as they say” I added. I also pray Luesa is able to heal Chamlee. Of course, she is a witch and I have no faith in her, but then it would be more convenient for the Chamlee to get well without using Lalic. Also, for now, I cannot fully guarantee the effectiveness of using Lalic. It is still a wild idea that I’ve got. So it is better not to get the luna hopes high and then have them dashed in the next minutes. Maybe I should just give up this idea. “I am so glad that nothing would happen to the Chamlar’s unborn child. I want to see them as a complete family once the Chamlee recovers” Lara said. “Yes. No life has to be lost to save the Chamlee. The Chamlee is a good man and would never want such to happen” Rich added. I looked around the faces in the room. Am I missing something? Has Luesa named her price, and what is it? Is there a possibility for a witch to not require some kind of blood, or does she demand animal blood? I was still in my thought when Mia entered and kowtowed to the luna. “My Chamlar, Luesa requires to meet with you” Mia announced. “And where is she now?” the luna almost jumped from her seat. “She is on her way here, my Chamlar” Mia replied. “Okay...” the luna said. She looked around the room for a while and then proceeded to leave. We all stood up and followed her out. On our way we met with Luesa, coming towards us. “My Chamlar” Luesa bowed. I could see trickles of sweat on her face. It must have been a long morning for her. The Chamlee is no ordinary case. “What is the situation, Luesa?” the luna asked trying her best to remain calm. “My Chamlar, I got the Chamlee to calm down but I can't guarantee how long he would remain so” Luesa replied. “I see” the luna sighed. “What is the solution, how can he get better?” she inquired. I could see the fear in her eyes. The same fear is in the eyes of every one of us. What if she says nothing else could be done and all we have to do is to sit back and watch our Chamlee drift away from us? It will be an effort in futility, everything that the Chamlar has done to heal the Chamlee would be to waste. How will she be able to take that? I fear that the effect would be too great for her to handle. She may never be able to recover from such. “There is a solution, my Chamlar” Luesa finally announced.
