Meadow’s p.o.v. I look at Felicity when others start counting back from ten. I met her for the first time tonight and she is a kind and caring person. As an Alpha’s Daughter, she will make a great Luna one day. When I talked to her, she seemed slightly off and confided in me that her Wolf had been acting weird since their arrival. Felicity’s head snaps to the left and a murderous look appears in her eyes. I follow her line of sight and I hear Rebel growling in my head. We are staring at Rory with Sarah beside him, his eyes wide with shock. “MINE.” Rory’s Wolf roars and everyone can see Sarah’s face turn pale. Rory pushes her aside, but it is clear that his Wolf is in control as he walks in our direction. His Wolf keeps growling as he gets closer to Felicity, who gets protected by her Father and Brother. “GET OUT OF MY WAY.” Rory’s Wolf roars as he reaches for Felicity, but Captain Miles and a few other Squad members block him. I have seen a few messed-up things in my life, but this one tops all of them. Rory claimed Sarah as his Mate almost three years ago. Like everyone else, I assumed they had marked one another back then, but with his Wolf able to recognize Felicity as his Mate, it means the opposite. “Rory, I will never accept you as my Mate. You chose her as your Mate and introduced her as your Mate and future Luna. I can even smell her on you, meaning you had sex with her during the party.” Felicity says as she steps between her Father and Brother. “YOU ARE MINE.” This time, it is Rory who claims Felicity, but she makes no moves toward him. “Rory, what are you doing?” Sarah asks as she grabs his arm, but Rory shoves her away. She stumbles back and would have ended up on her ass if Magnus hadn’t caught her. “Rory?” Sarah asks with tears running down her face. A part of me feels sorry for her, but the bigger part feels like Karma was served. “I, Felicity, Daughter of Alpha Damon, reject you, Rory, as my Mate.” Felicity says without hesitation. Rory’s knees buckle and he crashes to the floor, his hands clutching his chest. In the meantime I see Luna Leona guiding Sarah out of the Ballroom and I hope that she can convince Sarah to dump Rory’s pathetic ass. He will try to get Sarah back after accepting Felicity’s rejection; there is no doubt in my mind about it and I hope that Sarah won’t get fooled by him again. Even though she could have known he would walk out on her if he ever met his fated Mate. “I will never accept your rejection. Either accept me as your Mate or I will make you regret your rejection.” Rory says from the floor. Alpha Damon growls at Rory and Alpha Lincoln steps in front of him. “Rory, you will accept her rejection.” Alpha Lincoln says as he uses his Alpha aura to give him that order.“I.. Rory.. accept.. your.. rejection.” He grits out between his teeth, trying to go against an Alpha order. Felicity’s Brother is fast enough to catch her when the pain of a breaking bond hits her. Without another word, he walks out of the Ballroom with Alpha Damon following him. Alpha Damon’s Pack-members who found their fated Mate stay behind, that will be dealt with in the morning. “Now get to our Mates.” Rebel says in my head and for just a moment, I look at the ceiling, not really trusting what she said. I can sense that my Mates are behind me. I take a deep breath and nearly choke on it when I realize who my Mates are. Is the Goddess fucking kidding me? Why would she pair me with them? My first instinct is to run out of the Ballroom and find a hiding place somewhere in the territory. However, my second instinct is to give the Idiot a piece of my mind and I decide to do just that. “If you ever have the fucking guts to get in the way of my job, I will kill you. Is that clear, Makay?” I say as I turn toward my Mates. The Ballroom falls silent and I see a smile on Myka’s face, who is standing a little further away from me. “If he does, I will help you hide his body.” Lilith responds and now Myka is really laughing. “Mom, " Makay whines. He looks from Lilith to me and sighs deeply, knowing I have every right to fear his reaction to my job. “Meadow, I know you can take care of yourself. You also know why I never wanted a Mate who can fight, who doesn’t need me to protect her. I promise that Myka and I know that we need to communicate with you, as you need to communicate with us. Whether it is about fears or something else, communication is key.” Makay says. If I were a snowman, I would have melted into a puddle. He admitted his fears in front of everyone, not caring who would hear and his only concern was our Mate-bond and me. “You better keep that in mind, I still have an Asshole to take care of.” I tell him and I know they won’t allow me to leave without them. Their scent is even stronger now and I was right when I told Myka that I could smell the difference between Thyrius and Blade. I see Makay looking past me with a massive grin on his face and I turn around to see Maryan in Hayden’s arms. Makay takes the opportunity to slide his arms around my waist and pulls me against his chest as I congratulate my friends. “I don’t care if anyone agrees or not, but I am going to take my Mate upstairs.” Myka says and Makay lifts me bridal-style, walking out of the Ballroom without hesitating. Giggling, I bury my face in his neck. My face is a few shades of red, because everyone knows why we are heading up to the Beta floor.
