Golden Moon: The Beta Twins' Contracted Mate
Scarlet Crescent Territory “Dad, I need all the information you have on Princess Dyala. I want to know who gave us which information and if it was thoroughly checked.” Elder Venetia says as she walks into her house. Her Mate knows something is wrong and walks up the stairs to a hidden room they use as an office. They built it shortly after moving into the house, at his Father in law’s suggestion. Every member of Venetia’s family swore to protect Dyala and her bloodline; the only reason that she and Jensen are still members of the Elders is due to Venetia’s Father. He told King Vaughn that decades of information would be lost if they were no longer members of the Elders. It takes an hour to get every family member to join them. Venetia is pacing the floor while waiting for the last person to arrive. “I received this file from Alpha Preston of Silver Eclipse Pack. This is a file on Dyala’s stay within their territory and how they discovered what the necklace had done to Dyala.” Venetia says. She knows what her family believes happened back then and she knows that this can cause huge problems within the Royal family and the Elders. “I need your help to find out where that information got lost or who lied about the real reason that Dyala never returned. He said he would never return here, but I need his help. Can you ask Grandpa to come home, Mom?” Venetia asks.If anyone can bring him back to Scarlet Crescent territory, it will be Venetia’s Mother; she knows how to get her Father out of hiding. It only takes her a few minutes to persuade him to return to help his Granddaughter find answers. Two things in his life have always mattered most to him: his assignment as Dyala’s Protector and his Granddaughter. Every piece of information they have on Dyala’s bloodline gets pulled out, from the day she was born until the day the Elders were informed of her death. Every detail of her life had been recorded in reports, and now they had to go through each one to find out the truth. Dyala’s movements, her travels and everything else was pulled apart to see who was responsible for the lies. “Dyala left the Palace on her eighteenth birthday after another year of not shifting. She left without saying a word and no one realized she was gone until the next morning. I wasn’t allowed to search for her; one of the Elders convinced Dyala’s Father it would be best if I were at the Palace when she returned.” Venetia’s Grandfather says as he walks into the office. They all know that Dyala never returned to the Palace; in fact, they were informed that she was dead. However, the file from Silver Eclipse Pack proves that she was still alive when the King returned to share the news of her death. “Grandpa, why would the King tell us she had died?” Venetia asks. Her Father hands her a piece of paper, showing them that the King didn’t inform them of Dyala’s death. The mystery becomes bigger the more answers they find; the bigger it gets, the more questions they have. Why weren’t they informed that Dyala found her connection? Why weren’t they informed that she was still alive? Who wanted them to believe that nothing was left for them to protect? Venetia writes down every question they must answer before diving into the reports and files again. She hopes to make sense of this mess and help get justice for Dyala. “Jensen, we have more to explain to King Vaughn. Dyala didn’t die when her file says she died; someone lied to our families, but I can’t understand why.” Venetia tells her friend. “I will also get my family on it; we can solve this puzzle together. Everyone involved will lose their position as an Elder; the Law is clear on that and Dallas will help us uphold it.” Jensen says to Venetia. “We need to think a little further ahead because this trial will leave us with a huge challenge.” Venetia states. Jensen has already been two steps ahead of her and has called in the help of someone for the time being. For the next two days, both Elders work almost twenty four seven to get all the information they will need for the meeting. Their families have gotten a few answers, but mostly questions due to everything they have uncovered. Silver Crescent territory Dallas has been working on her Mother's files, gathering all the information she can with the help of her Squad members. As long as you don’t look into her Mother’s story too much, it is decent, made-up, and believable. If you look harder at it and investigate a little deeper, cracks start to appear. Not everything is adding up and there is enough proof out there to point out the flaws in her story. It wasn’t until Daxton accidentally saw her writing down a Pack name that things became even more interesting. Preston helped her to get the additional information to confirm her suspicions and now she was even more convinced that none of this had been a coincidence. Dallas is glad that she has the support of her Mates and their friends because she doubts she could have been this patient without it. Her Mates keep reminding her of the greater good and that she isn’t the only one who deserves some answers. The Royal family deserves them, the Elders deserve them, but most of all, the Kingdom deserves them. After talking it through with her Mates, she will allow King Vaughn one change to do things differently from his ancestors. This will not be swept under the rug as was done with Dyala; this will be brought out in the open. King Vaughn will have a week to make the meeting public knowledge or Dallas will take matters into her own hands and expose her Mother for who she is. A power hungry woman who was willing to sacrifice her Daughter and her own happiness to get a better control of her own position. A woman who was willing to break an oath she took, who was willing to deceive her family.Unfortunately, she hadn’t counted on her Daughter to become the one to take her down, to expose her secrets. She was going to regret everything she did in the name of power.
