The Wolves Beneath the Sanctuary
Josy After getting to the small Pack-house, I walk around the back to a very small cottage Peter built for me. He and Mylana are the only ones that know it is there; I asked him to build it for me just in case I needed to get some alone time. I never thought I would use it to get away from my Mate, and yet here I am. I put a block up on the mind-link; I don't want to hear from anyone. I need to find a way to deal with how Mano reacted to my cottage, a cottage I already thought of as ours. It seems I better start calling it mine again. I can feel the tears running down my cheeks as I curl up on the small bed. I am very aware of the fact that it is dark outside when I finally wake up, but truth be told, I don't give a damn. "Josy, are you in there?" I hear Peter ask softly, and I slowly open the door for him, walking into his arms. He doesn't say anything as he holds me, and I am grateful that he doesn't say a word. Peter locks the door behind me and guides me back to the hidden territory once I have stopped crying. He still hasn't said or asked anything, but I know Mylana and Alice will be waiting for me in my Quarters. Conan and Kanoa are waiting at the entrance to the hidden territory, and I am surprised they didn't go with Alpha Lakota. None of them say a word as they guide me back to the Pack-house and up the stairs to my Quarters. I am not even sure what to say if someone asked me a question. I think I would break down again, and I doubt I have any tears left to cry; I think I cried the entire time I was asleep. Chai has been quiet ever since Mano showed up at my cottage this afternoon; she didn't like his reaction to it either. I don't know if Torben felt the same way, but I haven't asked Chai about it either. I don't think I could handle it if both of them don't want to live there; it hurt when he ignored me, and then sensing he didn't like Ivan's remark made it worse. Mylana opens the door to my Quarters and pulls me into her arms, not saying a word. I just let her hold me as I try not to break down; I need to try and go on with my life. But just the thought of losing Mano makes my knees buckle, and I crash to the floor. Luckily, Peter is right behind me to catch me. I can feel him lifting me up before my world turns black. Romano No one knows where Josy is, and Jazzy says she put up a block on the mind-link. Everyone starts searching for her, but by the time we have to leave, we still haven't found her, and Conan and Kanoa refuse to leave. They just glare at me before telling Alpha Lakota they will stay behind and that they will keep searching for her. Torben and I feel terrible for leaving, but we need to make sure no one will ever come after the ones we love again. Jazzy is family through Josy, and this way we can make sure no one ever comes after her again. I think Josy would be devastated if something ever happened to Jazzy because we didn't take action. We travel through the night at high speed, knowing it will take us days to get to Jazzy's former Pack. I had seen surprised faces when I had shifted at Crystal Blood Pack; they had never seen a Bear shifter before, and Rory had walked up to me without hesitating. Lycans and Wolves are used to running, but I doubt anyone expected me to be able to keep up with them. With Torben's build, we crash through a lot of trees along the way, and most decide to follow him through the forest; it is easier than having to crash through trees themselves. We stop for some breakfast just after dawn, but we are back on the road within thirty minutes, and even though we don't run at full speed, we are making great progress. We only stop for meals along the way, and Alpha Lakota tells us during one of our meals that we will rest for the night when we are close to our destination. I had been initiated into the Pack before we left; it makes communicating a hell of a lot easier, and I was able to warn others about small holes in the ground a few times. With my huge paws, they are not a problem, but I don't think I want to find out what could happen to a Lycan or a Wolf if they stepped in one. My mind wanders to my Mate every time we stop for a meal; I hope Conan and Kanoa were able to find her and that my Mate is doing fine. I concentrate on my surroundings while I am running, so I don't have much time to think about Josy, and I can't wait to hold her in my arms again. Dusk stops dead in her tracks, and with my size, I have a bit of trouble stopping so fast, causing me to collide with Dusk before I come to a stop. "Sorry, I need to work on my braking distance." I mumble through the mind-link. Everyone chuckles through the mind-link, and Dusk tells me she will try to remember next time that she has a freight train on her tail. "Alpha, we are about two hours from our destination. It would be best to find a place to rest for the night, to get something to eat and a good night's rest." Jazzy tells us through the mind-link, and without waiting for an order, I go in search of a good place to rest for the night. Colton is right behind me, and it only takes us a few minutes to find a cave that is big enough to fit everyone into. "Alpha, Colton and I found a cave we can stay in." I say through the mind-link, and in a matter of seconds, I hear their paws hitting the ground as they approach us. There isn't much talking during dinner; I think everyone is with their loved ones in thought, and I feel like an ass for ignoring my Mate when I asked Malik if he needed a hand. I wanted to wrap my arms around her, but I also wanted to give her a little time to settle her mind, and I regret not wrapping her in my arms.
