The Wolves Beneath the Sanctuary
Amarah’s p.o.v. The days pass by slowly and sometimes I hate looking at the clock. Theseus chuckles from time to time at my annoyance, but I can feel through our Mate-bond that he is getting anxious as well. I remember Eos’ scream over the mind-link, when she read Joseph’s email and I had read it through the mind-link. I wanted all Pack-members to know that Joseph was coming home, that Little Crescent Pack would be joining us. Mom, The time has come, we can no longer keep our Pack-members safe. I found a pattern to the attacks and if they don’t change it, we will have two nights before they will realize that we are gone. We will be leaving after dinner tonight. In the attachment you will find the route we are taking, my best guess is that we will arrive after seven nights and seven days of traveling. Somewhere close to midnight. If we find Shifters in need along the way, we will take them with us. No idea what we might need when we get home, but be prepared for anything. See you soon. Love you. Joseph. That was four days ago, meaning that they have been traveling for three nights already. Their Pack-house was done before they set out on their second night of traveling and I hope that they will feel at home here, that they can settle down here. Inti was never meant to stay here and within a week after Inti and Joseph met, I knew that Joseph would follow his best friend to the end of the world. We all made sure that they had all the knowledge they needed to lead Little Crescent Pack, we wanted them to succeed in their endeavor.Asteria is becoming impatient as well, both of us want our Sons to return safely and time is passing too slowly. Just before dinner we get another email, but there isn’t much information in it. Joseph just mentions the loss of one Warrior and that they are still on schedule, nothing else. “I think it is wise that they didn’t mention anything else.” Apollo says. “Who knows how many Packs might have been able to get their hands on this message, at least now no one can get any wiser from it.” He is right, internet has been unreliable for years and we have found a way around it. We still send out emails, but the attachments can’t be read by anyone. Eos and Joseph made sure of that, they came up with the code for the attachments. Theseus pulls me onto his lap, both of us in need of some comfort only the other can give us and I slide my arms around his neck. We don’t have to worry about anyone attacking us, no one is that stupid. We have expanded our territory during the first year of the war, two of our neighboring Packs lost their Alpha family and there was no one willing to take over. We also claimed the pieces of no man’s land in between our Packs and our three allies have also moved into our territory. It was strange for a while, dealing with three other Alphas and we did clash from time to time. Until our amazing Daughter came up with a solution, an issue is discussed with all leaderships and everyone gets the chance to voice their opinion. However, in the end Theseus and I make the final decision. Murphee compared us to a small Kingdom and that is how we have been handling all of the issues. Everyone seems to be fine with the solution, even though there are some that think they are intitled to certain things or believe they can order others around. One of them is currently walking into the living room, but she manages to keep her mouth shut when she sees me. She softly growls at April, who is sitting next to Milo, and April doesn’t even bother to look up.Milo is our second Son, he takes after Theseus when it comes to his appearance with his jet black hair and he takes after me when it comes to his character. April is my spitting image all around, she has ash blond hair and doesn’t take crap from anyone. “Milo, when are you going to stop ignoring me?” The She-wolf asks in a whining voice and like always we stay out of it. “The day you move away.” He states and I can see a smile form on April’s face, she loves when her baby Brother opens his mouth. He doesn’t care if his words might hurt you, he will give you the truth and damned be the consequences. I know this isn’t over by a long shot and before this day is over, I will have to deal with her Father. A pompous ass that thinks he runs this territory, at least that is how he treats every one and I have had my fill of his attitude. “Mom, when will Joseph get home?” April asks, but I know it isn’t because she doesn’t know and I take a look at the clock for the umpteenth time since waking up. Her question pulls everyone’s attention away from her and Milo, giving him the chance to quickly move out of the main living room and hide out in his room till morning. “They will arrive in five nights, I just hope they don’t run into many problems. I need my Little Wolf to come home in one piece.” I answer April and she is laughing her ass off. “My Alpha, our Son is over thirty years old and you still refer to him as your Little Wolf?” Theseus asks me, but we both still consider him to be our Little Wolf. I notice that Milo’s troublemaker has a small smile on her face and I know that this might mean trouble after Joseph returns. Not between Milo and Joseph, but between Joseph and her parents. Our Son is a Gamma with Alpha blood in his veins and like me, he takes crap from no one. Especially not a power-hunger little She-wolf, who thinks the world owes her.
