The Wolves Beneath the Sanctuary
Umayza "My parents were fated Mates, but my Grandparents didn't approve. We all know why they didn't approve, but my parents ran away together, and for a year, they were able to avoid the rest of my family. I don't have to tell you that they caught up with my parents, but I need you to hear what happened after they ran into Calliope. Mom was near her due date, and one of Calliope's men was able to injure her before she could end him," I tell him how Dad hid Mom and sent everyone on a wild goose chase. "Shortly after he left, Mom informed him she went into labor, and a while after that, she informed him I was born. That she loved him and to take care of me, before she put a block up. Hours later, Dad felt the Mate-bond break as Mom died; Dad found me in the cave, and the rest you probably already know. What never made sense to me was why Mom left, and it wasn't until Conri answered the question why Yade's color was a surprise to them that I got an answer. Only twins and triplets are known to have a silvery color, just like Jasper and Yade. Mom left to keep both of us safe, but she never got the chance to inform Dad," I whisper by the end of my story. "You also have Mom's hair and eye color." "Fuck, I am related to her too," Orion mutters, and I can't help myself as I burst into laughter. "Jeez, is that all you took from my story?" I say as I slap him on his shoulder, and soon we are all laughing our asses off. I fall asleep in my Brother's arms with a smile on my face. I slowly open my eyes as the sun shines into my eyes, and I find myself still on Orion's lap with Evander and Conri right next to us. I have a baby Brother, and he looks like Mom and Dad; I can't wait to meet Jasper. My mind is a tumble of thoughts, and Yade laughs as I keep repeating over and over again that I have a baby Brother. "Your head running wild too, Sis," I hear near my ear, and I sit up straight to look at my baby Brother with a huge smile on my face. "Yes, and Yade seems to think it is funny—that is until she gets sick of me constantly saying I have a baby Brother." "Yade, you probably are not aware of it, but you have a block up. Jasper has been trying to talk to you for hours, but he can't push it down," Orion says as he looks into my eyes, and I see Yade's eyes widen at his words. I ask him if he can help Yade figure out how to lower it, but he doesn't have a clue either. A hand on my cheek makes me turn to my left, and Conri looks at me with a smile on his face. "Yade, normally this would have grown over time, and you would have been able to communicate with Jasper within a few hours after showing yourselves for the first time. I need you to concentrate on Jasper; try to reach out to him, and I have no doubt that that block will fall," Conri says, and I can feel her retreating a bit. Suddenly, it feels as if there is a second presence in my head, and by the look on Orion's face, he feels it too. For a moment, I am able to see Jasper, and then he is gone again, but Yade is so happy. "I can communicate with our baby Brother," she yells in my head, and even though I know it isn't helping, I put my hands on my ears. I see Orion doing the same, and we both burst out in laughter. "Your Wolves will get the hang of it; at first, it will be a bit strange for them and for the both of you, of course," Evander explains, and I ask him if it is normal that I caught a glimpse of Jasper, but it looks like Orion and I have a unique bond. Orion grabs his phone when we hear a ding, and he looks at it before he tells us Calliope just left Pack grounds. Captain Armand tells us we will stay indoors for the day as he wants Orion and me to get used to one another. "That especially goes for your Wolves; it will be easier once they have figured out how their communication works." I start looking around frantically as it suddenly sinks in, and I am not sure how to do this. "What is it, little One?" Evander asks, and I tell him I am looking for my phone. Alexia pulls it from between the couch cushions and hands it to me with a smile on her face. "How am I going to do this? How can I explain this? Will he believe me? What if he thinks I am crazy?" I ramble as I try to find my Father's number on my phone. Orion puts his hand over my phone as he says, "Calm down, Sis. You are making me dizzy. What are you talking about?" I pull my hand from under his hand to show him the contact on my screen, and his face pales as he reads the word Dad. "He deserves to know, Orion. He needs to know; he has asked himself so often why Mom left the cave. He needs to know, Orion," I say.
