The Wolves Beneath the Sanctuary

Chapter 136 Suspicious

Conri My mind goes back to the conversation Evander and I had about Wenonah, and suddenly something clicks. "Guys, do you remember the day Umayza knocked Theron to the ground?" I ask, and they all remember. "I always thought it was strange that some of them stopped training and were just looking around the training grounds, but I think they stopped training to be able to spot danger," I say, and for a moment, everyone is silent. "I believe they knew back then who her family was." "Fuck, that would explain why they would train her privately. If anyone knew how good she had gotten in such a short period of time, rumors would have started flying," Callan replies. "I think it could have been even worse; what if someone would have recognized her? She looks so much like her Aunt, Wenonah," I say. "Theron, overtake Alexia and pull over at the next possible stop. I want to talk to Umayza about this; I want to know if anyone has seen anything suspicious in the past three years," Armand says, and I see Theron go around Alexia, only to get taken over by her. "Callan, keep an eye out for oncoming traffic. I will drive next to them to tell Alexia to pull over at the next possible stop," Theron says as Alexia has overtaken him again. I see him going to the other lane; he lowers his window as soon as he is next to Alexia, and after a few moments, he falls back to get behind Alexia again. Umayza Blaze takes out her notebook the moment Alexia pulls away from the curb; Boris chuckles as he watches the others in the side mirror. "Looks like someone doesn't like to follow others, or maybe it is because you are a female, Alexia," he says before he tells us that Theron didn't look too happy. Tarja leans over the seat to look at Blaze's notes, and Yonatan asks her if she sees something interesting, "Just the same as always; stupid remarks by stupid females that are jealous of Umayza. They don't even know her; they never take the time to talk to her and to get to know her. Blaze, I looked at the footage from the past week, and the same guy popped up a few times. It is the same guy we have noticed around for the past month, but so far, he has done nothing strange, and he hasn't tried to go near Umayza either," she says. "Maybe just someone who is interested in Umayza; maybe he is trying to find the courage to ask her on a date," Boris responds, and that earns him a smack in the chest from Alexia. "Hey, why did you do that? I am just saying; Umayza is a gorgeous female, and everyone with eyes in their heads can see that," he mumbles. Alexia and Boris start their discussion they have had for nearly three years now, and Axel tries to stop them from going down that road, knowing how much I hate it when they talk about this. "Okay, stop it. We all know Umayza's opinion on this subject, and we all know she has two Mates." Yeah, they know I have two Mates, and they know how I found out that they didn't want me. After all, Tarja was with me when I found the note, and Boris and Tarja were there when we heard the two females talking about Evander and Conri. What they don't know is that Evander and Conri have invited me to every party at the Palace for the days of the Full Moon, or that I have sent every invitation back to them without opening them. At first, I thought they wanted to show me how happy they were with their girlfriends, but knowing their Lycans won't allow them to mark the females and that they will put up a fight when they want to have sex with them made me wonder. What if they aren't happy with those females? What if they know there is nothing they can do with those females until they reject me? Yade has also given me other reasons for the invitations, and my mind is going in that direction more and more. What if they never meant to hurt me? What if they didn't realize the words they used were not the smartest to use? What if they wanted me all along and are trying to make amends for it? I think I will have to give them the benefit of the doubt for the next few days and make a decision after that. If I feel that they are not interested in me or that they are not sincere, I will tell them to reject me the first chance we get, but if they are sincere or really interested in me, I might finally accept one of their invitations. That is, of course, if I will receive another invitation in the future. Yade and I still feel a bit strange from being in Conri's arms; I had been so distracted by Evander's greeting that I hadn't seen the little rock, and Conri caught me as I lost my balance. He had just helped me to stay on my feet, and after he had released me, he had walked into the gas station.
