Reborn as the Baby Sister Everyone Spoiled—and the One He Loved
Leon maintained a stern expression and said unconvincingly, "No, I'm not angry." Leon was genuinely upset about what Elaine had done, but he was too fond of her to punish her. Despite her actions making him mad, he couldn't bring himself to speak harshly to her. Elaine was amused by his grumpy appearance. She shook Leon's arm playfully and remarked, "Dad, you're so cute. Your cuteness must be why you stood out among so many suitors and won Mom over back then, right?" I can brag for a lifetime about how I won Rebecca's heart back then. Leon's brows lifted with a hint of pride, but he quickly suppressed it.It was not a good time to discuss that. He cleared his throat and said, "Elaine, stop fooling around. Did you really break off the engagement with Terry? Be honest with me." Elaine answered honestly, "I did propose it, but he turned it down." Leon's frown eased upon hearing this. He remarked, "Terry clearly has good taste and judgment." Elaine spoke earnestly, "Dad, I need your and Mom's help. Please visit the Wilson family and call off the engagement." Leon gently stroked her hair and inquired, "Elaine, what's going on? I thought you had strong feelings for Terry." I have strong feelings for Terry? When her father brought up her past feelings for Terry, Elaine felt oddly irritated. Her past affection for that sc*mbag Terry was a part of her history she wanted to bury forever. Elaine replied, "Dad, I've already explained this to Mom in detail. Why don't you ask her?" Leon pretended to be irritated and asked, "Do you find it troublesome to repeat the same thing to me?" Elaine suppressed her emotions, smiled, and shook her head. "No way. Elaine will never find Dad annoying. But Mom will definitely mention this to you, so I won't bother her." Leon was about to say something more, but Elaine pointed to her wrist to hint at the time. "Dad, it's getting late, and I need to get some beauty sleep. You've had a busy day, too. So you should get some rest as well." "Alright." Leon nodded at her indulgently. Since Elaine didn't want to repeat herself, he would ask Rebecca instead.Elaine got up, bid goodnight to Leon, and dashed upstairs. ... The following morning, after Elaine had completed her morning routine, she opened the door of her room to go downstairs for breakfast. She was surprised to see Alora standing outside her room. Alora's belongings were overwhelming, and she wasn't comfortable letting the servants handle them entirely. Thus, she had spent the entire night packing, resulting in dark circles under her eyes. Nevertheless, she was all smiles and appeared to be in excellent spirits. "Elaine, I've vacated that room, so you can move in now," Alora said with a sweet, soft voice. "Who told you I was planning to move in?" Elaine responded while casting a dismissive glance at her. "Huh?" Alora was puzzled by her response. Elaine said impassively, "That room was prepared for me by Dad and Mom. You have no right to claim it. That's why I asked you to move out. Got it?" Although Elaine's current room wasn't as luxurious as Alora's, it had been carefully designed for her by Rebecca and Leon. From the small figures on the TV stand to the wardrobe's design, every detail of the room was thoughtfully crafted, reflecting their love for her. She really liked her current room. Moving back and forth was simply too much of a hassle. Moreover, Alora had lived in that room for twenty years. Even though she had vacated the room, it still had her lingering presence. Elaine found it uncomfortable to move in immediately. She planned to renovate the room and leave it empty. "Elaine Curran!" Alora was choked with anger. This woman is completely out of line! She's doing this solely to insult me! She's leveraging her identity as the Currant family's biological daughter to humiliate me, the adopted daughter of the family. How spiteful! "Elaine, why are you doing this? I know you've endured a lot of hardship over the past twenty years, but what does that have to do with me? The mix-up when we were babies was an accident. It wasn't my fault! How can you humiliate me like this? This is really too much!"
