Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone
Seraphina felt a piercing gaze and turned her head, locking eyes with a pair of deep, dark ones. She couldn't overlook the intensity of his gaze, causing her to hesitate briefly. "Is everything okay?" she asked calmly, her tone even but curious. Jason's eyes lingered on her momentarily before replying, "You remind me of someone I know." Still caught up in her excitement over Thomas' autograph, Evelyn froze when she heard his comment. She looked at Jason, her expression reflecting disbelief and amusement. That's the oldest line in the book. Flashing a sly grin, Evelyn chimed in, "Oh, well, Seraphina has one of those faces, you know. It's completely natural for her to seem familiar." Jason didn't reply, simply shifting his gaze elsewhere.About twenty minutes later, the car stopped in front of the Whitewood Residence. As soon as Seraphina stepped out, Evelyn turned to Jason, unable to hold her tongue any longer. "Uncle Jason, just so you know, Seraphina is my classmate," she began cautiously. Jason lifted an eyebrow, silently urging her to go on. Frustrated by his obliviousness, Evelyn blurted out, "Don't even think about it! You two are worlds apart, and robbing the cradle is just... wrong. Seriously, give it up!" Jason's sharp gaze turned on her, freezing Evelyn in place. He thought, I used to think this girl lacked intelligence, but now it's obvious—she's truly foolish. After a tense silence, Jason declared with icy authority, "Starting tomorrow, come home straight after school to focus on studies. After ranking in the top 100, we'll discuss your 'freedom.'" Evelyn's mouth fell open. "You're punishing me for this? This is revenge!" She thought, This is so unfair! How can Uncle Jason treat me like this? I was just saying what he's probably thinking anyway!Jason didn't even blink. Trying another approach, Evelyn folded her arms and huffed, "Seraphina is my best friend! If you don't treat me well and get in my good graces, forget about me assisting you in getting close to her!" She really needs to hit the books. What is all that nonsense cluttering her brain? Jason's expression darkened further, and his voice dropped a degree colder. "Top fifty." Evelyn's jaw dropped in shock, her horror evident. Regardless of her protests or growls, her "miserable" fate remained unchanged. Meanwhile, someone else was dealing with their problems across the city. In the back of a sleek luxury SUV cruising toward a five-star hotel, Michael couldn't stop glancing at Thomas, who appeared to be resting. After struggling with his thoughts for a while, he finally worked up the nerve to ask, "Thomas, what do you think of Seraphina?" His tone was cautious, laced with curiosity and concern.Thomas didn't open his eyes, but the image of her face flashed through his mind. After a moment, he replied, "She's not bad." Michael froze. Not bad?! It might appear harmless to many, but I can see right through it.This is Thomas Foster—the guy who refers to renowned actresses and supermodels as "average" without a second thought. If he's commenting about Seraphina, it's clear he's intrigued by her. This reveals the reason behind his surprisingly warm behavior—it all makes sense now! Michael's chest tightened with panic. Although Thomas is in his early twenties, Seraphina is still in high school. If word gets out that a leading male celebrity has feelings for a sixteen-year-old, it'll be a PR disaster. No way! I have to put a stop to this before it goes any further! He leaned forward, desperate to nip this in the bud. "Look, Thomas, I know you're young, but she's only sixteen—a kid. If others discover that you're attracted to a high school girl, they'll label it as robbing the cradle and tarnishing your reputation. Many beautiful and mature women exist. Don't risk everything for her." Thomas' eyes cracked open at the mention of "robbing the cradle," and he fixed Michael with a cold, piercing stare that sent a chill down his spine.
