Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone
Jasmine's comment left Linara simmering with discomfort. She thought, Previously, Ms. Cooke never questioned my choices. However, since Seraphina's arrival, she appears to be undermining me in an attempt to gain Seraphina's favor. Linara felt her anger rising, but she quickly swallowed her frustration. Instead, she turned to Chloe with a helpless, pleading look. Picking up on her mood, Chloe spoke gently, "If you've got important things to take care of, go ahead." Linara's frown disappeared with Chloe's approval, and she left with a pleasing look. Jasmine hesitated for a moment, conflicted. She thought, How is Miss Seraphina supposed to get to school now? Emerald Heights is halfway up the mountain, and there's no transport. It would take her at least 40 minutes to walk down and another 20 to get to the nearest bus stop. Plus, buses only run every 30 minutes. By the time she reaches school, it'll be past 10 a.m. Not exactly the impression she'd want to make on her second day. Just as she opened her mouth to speak, one of the other maids tugged her arm and whispered, "Don't. You know Mrs. Whitewood favors Linara. If you stick your neck out for Miss Seraphina, it'll just backfire." Jasmine sighed and kept her thoughts to herself. When Seraphina came down for breakfast, she found Linara missing. It felt strange, but she dismissed it until she finished eating and only discovered Linara had already gone. "Kai took Miss Linara to school about 15 minutes ago. Do you want me to take you down on my scooter?" Jasmine explained. Seraphina shook her head. "It's okay." Smirking, she thought, So that's her game. She's trying to leave me stranded to embarrass me. Cute move, Linara. "Where's the garage?" Seraphina asked casually.Jasmine led her to the sprawling garage with dozens of luxury cars gleaming under the lights. Each one was a statement of wealth collected by the Whitewood patriarch over the years. Seraphina scanned the rows of vehicles, then grabbed a key from the cabinet and walked straight to a sleek blue sports car. Jasmine's heart sank as she realized which car Seraphina had chosen. "Miss Seraphina, are you planning to—" "I'll drive myself," Seraphina interrupted, unlocking the car. The engine roared to life, its growl echoing through the garage. The car sped off before Jasmine could stop her, leaving her in shock. Oh no. That's Mr. Aidan's favorite car. He treats it like a treasure. If he finds out, he'll surely be mad… Jasmine thought, panicking. The Bugatti's engine purred as it glided down the mountain roads, its polished exterior reflecting the sunlight. When Seraphina drove into the school parking lot, her car had already drawn a crowd."Whoa, look at that! It's stunning!" "Is that a limited edition Bugatti LCV? Those cost over 30 million! My brother wished for one, but my dad refused to buy it for him." "Who's driving it? Could it be the one from Class F? Only he would dare to do so." When the car door opened, a flow of shiny, dark hair danced in the wind as Seraphina emerged. Her graceful features and calm presence immediately drew the gaze of those around her. "Who is she? She's gorgeous!" "She's even more beautiful than Rainie!" "Does anyone know her name?" Although many had heard rumors about Seraphina, few had seen her in person. Linara's smile froze in the crowd when she saw Seraphina get out of the car. She quickly composed herself, her lips curling into a sly grin. So bold, Seraphina. Driving Aidan's prized Bugatti? Even I wouldn't dare touch it. Let's see how this plays out for you. Linara discreetly pulled out her phone, snapped a picture of the car, and sent it to Aidan, who was abroad.
