Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone
Among the Whitewood Family, there was one person whom Seraphina hated the most. He was the one who had given her the final warmth, the brief redemption she had desperately longed for. But it was he, in the end, who had killed her. Seraphina's thoughts darkened at the memory, the weight of his betrayal heavier than any of the Whitewood Family's actions, even Linara's. To her, his betrayal was the deepest wound of all. Her hands clenched unconsciously, fingers curling into tight fists as if she could strangle the life out of him right then and there. She quickly controlled herself, pushing the urge away with all her strength. With a deep breath, she withdrew her gaze and tried to focus again on her task. Rowan, noticing that she had disregarded his advice, frowned in concern. "When investing in stocks, never put all your money into one. It's too risky. Diversify your investments. Spread the risk. It's far safer that way." He kept speaking, the words flowing endlessly from him, completely unaware of the coldness emanating from Seraphina. "I'll recommend a few stocks to you. Take Prism Corporation, for instance. It's been on the rise, and looks like it will continue to climb. If you buy now, you could sell it in a few days and make a profit. Then there's this stock. Although it appears weak at the moment, I've been observing it for some time, and I'm certain it will rise again soon." Seraphina's patience finally wore thin, and she interrupted him coldly. "Have you said enough?" Rowan froze in place, caught off guard. He stood there for a moment, unsure of how to react. "Sorry, I was being too forward," he apologized. Seraphina's response was just as cold. "If you know it's too much, then don't do it." The words stung. Rowan's face turned red with embarrassment, and he found himself at a loss. He didn't fully understand why he had the urge to speak to her, but seeing her now... he couldn't help it. The small scene had attracted the attention of several nearby traders, who whispered among themselves, casting curious glances in Rowan's direction. The attention only added to his discomfort, and after apologizing once more, he turned on his heel and hurriedly left. As soon as he was gone, an older stockholder, who had been observing the situation, spoke up. "Honestly, I agree with his analysis. He didn't mean any harm. You shouldn't have gotten so upset." No harm? Seraphina snorted inwardly. At one time, she had believed that Rowan was different, that he was kind-hearted, someone set apart from the Whitewood Family and the Kennedy Family. But now, she knew better. None of them were good people. Not a single one. When she left the stock exchange, Seraphina made her way back to school to prepare for her final exams.Returning to the school, she immediately noticed a shift in the atmosphere. It was no longer the dull, tense environment it had been only a few days prior. Everywhere she went, students were chattering excitedly, their conversations full of energy and anticipation. Evelyn spotted her entering and rushed over, her excitement palpable. "Seraphina, I have fantastic news! Thomas is coming to our school to shoot a film. Can you believe it? Are you surprised? Are you happy?" "Thomas is coming here to shoot?" Seraphina echoed, surprised by the news. Dora, who had been listening in, nodded eagerly. "Yes, yes! The entire school is buzzing about it. I heard they need extras, and a lot of people are planning to sign up. Are you going to join them?" "But we have exams coming up soon," she reminded them, a little uncertain about the timing. Evelyn laughed lightly. "Oh, I almost forgot to mention—he won't be coming until after our exams are over. So, you don't have to worry about that."Seraphina understood immediately why the entire school was so excited. "The spots are limited, so we need to sign up quickly," Dora added. Evelyn grinned mischievously. "Don't worry, I've already submitted our names for the three of us. We're all set!" Dora gave her a thumbs up, clearly impressed by Evelyn's efficiency. Seraphina, however, remained silent. Since the decision had been made, it seemed pointless to voice any objections now. The tension that had gripped the school before the exams seemed to dissolve with the news of Thomas' visit. Students eagerly anticipated the day they finished their exams, after which they could meet their idol.
