Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone

Chapter 199 The Dream of Luxury Shattered

Yvonne did not believe a single word. "Please, let me go," she begged again. Her pleas only seemed to make him crueler. Myles pulled a whip from a drawer and took slow steps toward her. In panic, Yvonne scrambled out of the bathtub, using her hands and feet to crawl toward the door. She reached the entrance and found it locked. She turned and saw him drawing closer, his face cold with menace. When the whip struck her body, the pain was unbearable. "Ah!" Her scream echoed through the bathroom, mixed with Myles' insane laughter. There was no escape. There was no way to fight back.Yvonne felt utterly hopeless. However, the worst was yet to come. Her dream of a life of luxury had been shattered. What lay ahead was endless torment, a kind of suffering she had never imagined in her worst nightmares. Her past life, once slow and unbearable, now seemed like paradise compared to this. She began to regret everything, from going with him, trusting his words, and, most of all, attending that fateful banquet. If only Seraphina had not urged her to go, she would not have met this monster. She would not be suffering like this. It was all Seraphina's fault. Why? Why did Seraphina, who had everything, still feel the need to destroy someone else's life? Hatred filled Yvonne, dulling the pain. She blamed everything on Seraphina. Only in this way could she endure the constant torment from Myles. Meanwhile, at Whitewood Estate, Seraphina lay lazily on a soft couch. Her phone buzzed lightly. She picked it up and tapped into the notification. Multiple photos filled the screen. Yvonne was the focus of them, lying on the ground with blood streaming from her legs. The man beside her looked like a demon. Seraphina's sharp eyes narrowed as she examined the images. The last picture showed Myles dragging Yvonne toward the back garden. Seraphina locked her phone. She opened a drawer, took out a glass jar, and removed the lid from a wooden box. Inside, she placed a bloodied, semi-fresh rat's tail into the jar. The jar, once only a third full, was now more than halfway filled. "Who will be next?" She softly murmured to herself. "It will be you."Seraphina's smiling eyes landed on a blank sheet of paper on the table. Two words stood out. Myles Fraser. The sky glowed with the colors of sunset, painting the clouds in a brilliant display. Jasmine opened the door and entered the room, finding it empty. The white curtains gently swayed as a soft breeze flowed in. Jasmine walked to the balcony and picked up a book from beneath the table. "Social Psychology." Jasmine glanced at the cover but did not pay much attention to it. She saw it as just another subject being studied at school. After leaving the room, Jasmine ran into Chloe. "Is she inside?" "Miss Seraphina went to Miss Evelyn's house. She plans to stay at Heartlake Island tonight," Jasmine replied, smiling. "She's always going there. It's becoming too much," Chloe said, clearly upset.Jasmine smiled but did not reply. She honestly did not understand Chloe. Oberon was happy for Miss Seraphina to visit Heartlake Island often, but Chloe seemed to strongly dislike the visits. Chloe descended the stairs and saw Linara sitting in the garden. A sharp look crossed her eyes as she approached and softly said, "Linara, go to Heartlake Island and bring Sera back." Linara's first instinct was to refuse. She considered suggesting a phone call instead but quickly realized Chloe's true intentions.
