Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone

Chapter 155 A Bunch of Fools

The people around them looked at Seraphina and her group with disdain while showing sympathy toward Yvonne. However, the two tall figures at the back of the crowd simultaneously wore a half-smile, their expressions unclear. Joe raised an eyebrow, his gaze sweeping over Yvonne with contempt. That small trick is nothing more than a way to deceive those who enjoy the spectacle without thinking critically. Joe glanced at the time and realized he had to leave soon if he didn't want to be late. He looked over at Mr. Foster and saw that he had no intention of leaving. Joe obediently stood beside him, saying nothing. Coincidentally, he also wanted to see how Seraphina would handle this situation. Andrew's eyes fixed on Seraphina's delicate features. He had seen her on video before but didn't feel the same intense reaction. Now, seeing her in person, the sense of familiarity grew stronger.Seraphina's smile was laced with mockery. Her eyes scanned the crowd, her lips curving into a smirk. "A fool speaks nonsense, and a whole group of fools applauds," she remarked. The crowd behind them saw this, and Joe's expression, which had been stoic, cracked. His lips lifted uncontrollably. This little girl is bold! She fully unleashes her aura, confronting and mocking everyone. But doesn't she fear being ganged up on? The answer was clearly no. Most of the onlookers were students from Bloomington School, taught by their parents to hold their tongues or curse quietly rather than openly challenge Seraphina. Her confidence was unnerving, and they could only watch in silence. Yvonne's face tightened as she realized the shift in the crowd's mood. A clever thought flashed in her eyes. Enraged, she retorted, "Sera, you can hate me all you want, but the people here are innocent. They have no reason to be insulted. Why would you say such things about them? You've changed so much."Her words struck a chord, and for a moment, the crowd's sympathy seemed to shift back in her favor. Seraphina remained unfazed, her tone calm but sharp. "Did I insult them?" she replied. "I'm simply stating the truth. Your father owes me a debt—a bowl of noodles I've never forgotten. But two years ago, I almost lost my life saving him. Did you mention that part? When you and your brother couldn't pay for middle school, who used all her savings to help you? Who defended you when you were bullied, even risking her life in the process? When your mother nearly died, who saved her, despite the delay? A bowl of noodles, two lives saved—do you think that's not enough?" The crowd fell silent, their favor shifting as Seraphina's words sunk in. "Do you know why I missed two exams at Bloomington? It was because I wanted to give you a chance. If I had taken those exams, would you still be here, talking to me like this? Yvonne, do you want me to keep going?" Seraphina's voice grew colder. "You can be shameless, but at least have some conscience. Look within yourself—do I still owe your family anything? Haven't they already taken enough from me? I've always been kind and fair to your family, but what have you done? You helped those four ruin my birthday, spread lies about my personal life, and tried every trick to destroy my reputation." Yvonne's face drained of color as Seraphina's words cut deep. She wanted to interrupt, but no words came. "100,000 is nothing to me now," Seraphina continued. "But why would I waste it on you, ungrateful as you are? After all I've done for you, you repaid me with betrayal."
