Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone
Elvis' scream was cut short when he heard the familiar voice. He looked at the figure in astonishment. "It's you!" He never expected to see Seraphina here. She smiled at him. The soft lines of her face and beautiful facial features remained as usual. However, her smile exuded coldness, and it creeped him out. His calming heart raced when he suddenly met her eerie smile. The dim light flickered in the distance, distorting the face he saw. "A-Are you dead or alive?" His voice trembled with fear. "What do you think?" She chuckled. He jumped to his feet, attempting to escape. It was futile as a force tugged at his collar, dragging him backward. His collar gripped around his neck, rendering him immobile."I haven't said you can leave. How dare you leave without bidding farewell to me?" she glowered. He studied her face. A shiver ran down his spine, a chill tightened his chest, and beads of cold sweat broke out on his forehead. She's out of her mind! "Seraphina, what do you want?" Elvis tried to maintain his composure. "To collect interest." She replied with these three simple words, yet the sentence was laced with the hatred she brought from her past life and regained in the present. A chilling urge to kill emanated from her. In the past, she hadn't done anything to wrong him. Yet, he ruined her reputation. He did the same thing again a few days ago. He had wronged her twice. She was determined to settle debts with him today. She made her intentions to kill him clear, and he felt it.He aimed a kick at her stomach, trying to gain the upper hand. Unfortunately, she saw it coming. She spun around and dodged him easily. Then, she grabbed his arm and flipped him over, pushing him to the ground. The impact stunned him. Before he could react, he felt his body moving from the ground. She effortlessly lifted him into the air. His discovery shocked him to the core. He couldn't comprehend how a petite woman like her would be strong enough to lift him as if he didn't weigh. The idea of what her next step would be dawned on him. He screamed in fear, "No!" He was too late. The words left his mouth at the same time he crashed to the ground. The fact he was an adult man meant nothing to Seraphina. He was like a sandbag to her. She kept lifting him and slammed him to the ground. She repeated the two steps in a continuous cycle. She might've damaged my organs. He heard blood running in his ears. Then, he coughed out a mouthful of blood. She's going to kill me! "Y-You are…" He stared at the madwoman before him in horror. She cast him a radiant smile, but to him, her beautiful smile was none different from a devil's. It was deadly and could kill one before they noticed. "Please spare me! Aren't we childhood playmates? I promise not to cross you again. If you go left, I'll go right. I'll never show my face before you." He cried loudly, not caring about his image. The blood dripping down from his forehead blurred his vision. He reeked of blood and alcohol, a combination of nauseating odors. How dare he bring it up? The mention of them being childhood playmates drew a chuckle out of Seraphina. A smile appeared, but it didn't reach her eyes. He didn't seem to remember the bond we shared when he tried to ruin my life. He forgot our friends and I arranged his grandmother's funeral after she passed away. These facts never crossed his mind once.In her previous life, he watched everyone insult and accuse her, but he did nothing to help her.
