Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone
Chloe was displeased. "Seraphina is my daughter. It's natural if I'm worried about her. Don't talk as if I'm a heartless monster." "I'm glad you understand. Just remember the Whitewood Family depends on her to take it to the next level," Oberon made it clear, so emotions wouldn't cloud her judgment. She stared at the man, who fell asleep immediately, with hatred. To him, it's always about benefits. How foolish I was to expect him to care about Seraphina. In the end, it's all about the benefit she can bring to the Whitewood Family and him. Meanwhile, Seraphina sorted out her birthday gifts after receiving them. She picked out the valuable items that could be sold and put the unsellable trinkets away. After organizing everything, she called Evelyn. "Evelyn, do you have any uncle who likes antiques? I want to sell the two antiques from the Thomson Family and the Hart Family." Her question stunned Evelyn. "Are you struggling financially?" "Yes." "I can lend you three hundred thousand now. Is that enough?" Evelyn was straightforward. "No need. I'll reach my goal after selling the two antique pieces." Evelyn didn't press her for the reason she needed money. Evelyn only reassured her, "Don't worry. Leave it to me." After hanging up the phone, Evelyn browsed her contacts. They were either her friends or family elders. She quickly got out of bed and knocked on Jason's study door. "Come in." She poked her head in and looked at the man behind the desk. "Uncle Jason, do you know any antique collector friends? I want to sell two items."The man, busy with work, raised his head and looked at her with dark eyes. "Antiques?" "Yes." She nodded lightly. "Does Seraphina want to sell them?" She chuckled. "Uncle Jason, you know everything, don't you? Yes. She wants to sell them as soon as possible." "Bring the items here." "You need to find a buyer for her as soon as possible," she reminded him. "Okay." "Uncle Jason, you're kind-hearted." She tried to flatter him before leaving. The next day, Seraphina sent the items over. She originally expected to wait a few days. To her surprise, she received the payment in the afternoon. She confirmed she had received six hundred thousand in her bank account before transferring the money to Ronald and asking him to start the operation immediately. At YS Corp, Frankie pushed open the office door and sat on the couch with his legs crossed. A box on the coffee table caught his attention. Opening it, he found a tea set and a painting. "Since when did you become an antique collector?" He studied the two items before putting them back in the box. He found them boring. "Just feeling like it," Jason replied casually. "How much are they worth?" "Six hundred thousand." Frankie jumped up from the couch. "Jason, you've been ripped off! They're worth at most four hundred thousand. You've spent an extra two hundred thousand. I can't believe someone managed to deceive the shrewd Mr. Drakon!" He grinned smugly, gloating at Jason's misfortune. Jason paid the other man no mind as he focused on the work at hand."Who's the seller who dared to fool you? I'll ask my men to teach them a lesson!" Frankie offered graciously. "No need," Jason replied. Frankie narrowed his eyes, sensing something was amiss. "Jason, you're acting strange today." "I'm not. You can see yourself out now." Jason glared at his friend. Frankie placed an invitation on the desk and explained, "Your childhood sweetheart is getting married. You're invited to the wedding." Jason glanced at the invitation before withdrawing his indifferent gaze. Frankie sighed when he saw Jason's calm expression. Yvette is destined to be disappointed.
