Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone

Chapter 145 Seizing the Opportunity

Not to mention, the proposal had significant potential for generating substantial returns. Seraphina didn't fully understand such things, but she carefully read the entire proposal from beginning to end. Ronald assumed she was merely skimming through it, just like that other man had done before. To his surprise, she was incredibly attentive, more thorough than anyone else who had ever reviewed it. As time ticked by, Ronald grew visibly anxious. When she finally closed the document, his back was stiff as a board, and he stared at her with nervous anticipation. "What do you think?" Ronald's voice was tight with tension. "The ideas are innovative and bold," Seraphina said with confidence. "There will be significant challenges in bringing this to life, but I believe that if you pursue it, you'll succeed." Her bright, unwavering gaze reinforced her conviction.A wave of emotion washed over Ronald, filling his heart with warmth. His dry eyes began to glisten faintly. It was the first time—the very first time—that someone had recognized the value of his proposal. It was the first time anyone had spoken with such certainty, telling him it could actually work. When the proposal was first conceived, he had been brimming with confidence, convinced it would captivate others. But he had faced rejection after rejection. Every dismissal chipped away at his confidence, leaving him on the brink of giving up. Now, her words were like a beacon of hope, pulling him back from the brink of despair. She might not be able to offer him much, but her encouragement and validation meant the world to him. "Thank you," Ronald said softly, his voice trembling slightly. "How much funding would you need to get this project off the ground?" Seraphina asked."Huh?" Ronald froze, caught off guard by the question. "I want to invest." Ronald was completely stunned. The young girl sitting before him, who looked no older than seventeen or eighteen, was talking about investing. "Investing requires a lot of money," he reminded her gently, choosing his words carefully. "I know. Give me a figure," she insisted. Seeing her persistence, Ronald decided to be honest. "The initial phase would require five million." "Five million," Seraphina murmured to herself. "That's fine. Draw up a contract. I'll invest," she said decisively. Ronald's jaw practically hit the floor. "F-Five million is a lot of money!" "I know," she said calmly."Are you really going to invest?" He could hardly believe it. The idea of a young girl investing in his project felt surreal. Investing wasn't something to be taken lightly. But as he studied the serious expression on her face, he realized she wasn't joking. She genuinely meant it. "I'll have someone draft the contract," Seraphina explained. "You'll contribute your technology in exchange for equity. I'll provide the funding. You'll hold 30% of the company, and I'll take 70%. All company operations will be under your control. We'll meet here tomorrow to finalize it. Does that work for you?" Ronald stared at her, utterly dumbfounded. "If you think the equity split is unfair, you're welcome to negotiate," she added. "No, no, that's fine. This is more than fair," he said, waving his hands nervously. Having someone willing to invest was a blessing beyond his wildest dreams. Negotiating for a larger share? He wouldn't dare. Besides, 30% was already more than he could have hoped for. Seraphina was a bit surprised. She had offered a 70-30 split to leave room for negotiation, yet he accepted without hesitation. For a moment, she felt as though she might be taking advantage of an honest man. "Alright, see you tomorrow," she said. With the matter settled, Seraphina let out a long sigh of relief.
