Seraphina Is Back—and She’s Not Alone

Chapter 137 Don't Push Me Anymore

"Ah!" Linara screamed in pain. Chole watched helplessly, her heart breaking. She wished she could step in and take the punishment for her. Oberon, however, was enraged. The whip in his hand struck relentlessly, each blow landing harder than the last. One daughter brought pride to our family, elevating us through connections with the Drakon and Foster families. The other, however, has made our family a joke, a subject of ridicule. A b*stard is still a b*stard. No matter how much I raise them, they're useless. The more Oberon thought about it, the harder his blows became. "Dad, I know I was wrong. Please, forgive me just this once!" Linara, lying on the ground, sobbed. The maids around them watched in fear, their hearts pounding. Before long, blood began to streak across Linara's back, slowly staining her white dress red. "Mom, help me! Mom..." Linara cried out, reaching desperately towards Chloe. Chloe wanted to step forward but realized that her husband was too enraged to listen to anyone. Her gaze shifted to Seraphina, who sat calmly on the couch, sipping her coffee, coldly watching Linara being beaten. How can she be so cruel? Seeing her own sister being beaten and remaining indifferent! Chloe wanted to explode but suppressed her anger, speaking softly and gently, "Sera, beg your father to calm down." Seraphina, reclining comfortably, replied coolly, "If his anger isn't released, holding it in could make him more annoyed. It's for his own good. He needed to release his frustration." Chloe was so furious she almost lost control, but she kept her voice patient as she continued, "I know, Sera, you've been wronged today. Linara knows she was wrong too. Please, go beg your father to stop. If he keeps hitting her, she might die.""From a medical perspective, death only occurs when internal organs are damaged, causing blood blockages. The chances of dying from a whipping like this are less than one in a thousand. With Dad's strength, it's unlikely to happen," Seraphina said casually. Chloe's blood pressure rose with anger. "What do you want, for your father to stop?" "She was wrong. Shouldn't she be punished?" Seraphina continued. "Aren't you the one most concerned about the Whitewood Family's reputation? She humiliated the family today. How can you forgive her so easily?" Each word cut deep, each sentence hitting its mark. Suddenly, Chloe raised her hand and swung it toward Seraphina's face. Her movement was quick and unexpected, but Seraphina raised her hand to block it, the slap landing squarely on her hand. A flash of coldness passed through Seraphina's eyes as she quickly grabbed Chloe's wrist. With a twist, she forced Chloe to lean forward. Their faces were inches apart, eyes locking. Seraphina's voice was low and chilling as she whispered in her ear, "If I made Dad choose between me and Linara, who do you think he would choose?" Chloe's eyes widened in shock. If it were before today, it was uncertain. But after today, Seraphina would undoubtedly be chosen. Chloe knew her husband's character all too well. "Don't provoke me again. If you do, I will have your precious daughter immediately kicked out of the Whitewood Family." After saying this, Seraphina pushed Chloe away with one forceful motion. Chloe stumbled backward, taking several steps before regaining her balance. She stared at Seraphina, unable to find words to speak. Meanwhile, Linara had been calling out to her mother for a while, but when she saw Chloe and Seraphina standing close to each other, a deep resentment began to grow in her heart.
