The Apocalypse Wolf Queen

Chapter 360 Dead Last

"Thora made it into the top 50!" Shirley jumped up with excitement. Ryan and Tristan couldn't hide their elation either. Tristan grinned. "I knew the boss wouldn't let us down! As long as the game doesn't end, it's only a matter of time before she's back at the top." In his mind, first place had always belonged to Thora. No one else even deserved it. But just as everyone was waiting for Thora to reclaim her throne... Her ranking had just locked in at exactly 15th place when the game suddenly ended. Someone had activated the "Tears of Gods," purifying the entire game world. The skyscrapers of Rovelle City restored themselves to their modern state at a visible pace. The dark, oppressive sky brightened, transforming into a clear blue day. All players were forced to stop their quests and point farming, frozen in place."The game's over..." Every player lifted their heads, murmuring as they watched the sky transform. The final round's eliminations would be determined by the current leaderboard rankings—those eliminated this round, along with candidates who had received poor evaluations in the first two rounds, would not be admitted. In other words, this year's admission test for Blue Star Military Academy had officially come to a close. When they saw the name "Ash" appear in the very last spot on the admission list, quite a few candidates actually let out a collective sigh of relief, more excited than if they'd cleared the game themselves. "Thank God she made it in time!" "Only someone like her truly deserves to stay!" "Ash made the cut!" Similar cheers spread among the candidates. If someone was merely stronger than them, they might feel jealous or resentful. But Thora was different—she didn't just have absolute strength, she had a presence that commanded respect, making all resistance crumble before her aura. No one could even muster the will to be envious. In everyone's eyes, she was always meant to stand above them all. That realization stung a little, but no one could argue against it. Even though there were other impressive candidates, only Thora could make these strong-willed individuals genuinely submit and even want to follow her. Some were relieved that Thora had squeaked in, while others were hopping mad... Tristan slapped his palm against his forehead, covering his eyes in mock outrage. "What the hell! Which idiot ended the game? My boss is still at the bottom of the list!" His words dripped with indignation, but he couldn't hide the grin tugging at his lips. The boss had actually scraped in at dead last. Just imagining her annoyed expression was hilarious. Luke was also fighting back a smile as he adjusted his glasses. In his view, as long as the boss got admitted, her ranking didn't matter at all. But coming in last place was admittedly a little embarrassing. Shirley wasn't overthinking it. As long as Thora made the top 50, she was over the moon—if Thora hadn't made it, she wouldn't have stayed at the military academy either. Ryan looked at Tristan and Luke with confusion at their obvious amusement. Wasn't Wolffang supposed to be tight-knit? Why were these two enjoying this so much? Just as Tristan had predicted, Thora was currently staring at her ranking with a sour expression. Why did it have to end so fast? Someone had obviously timed it to screw her over. She couldn't shake the feeling that she'd been pranked. Landing in last place was seriously annoying. Elsewhere, Ashley held the "Tears of Gods" in hand, eyes on the name "Ash" sitting at the very bottom of the leaderboard. A mischievous smile curved at the corner of her lips. ... Inside the downtown building, Draven gazed out the window, the corner of his mouth lifting. "It's over then..." He turned back to look at the blue holographic screen, which displayed Thora's character model rotating alongside her various stat parameters. If he hadn't secretly modified her parameters, she might not have made it in time. Then again, perhaps the person holding the power to end the game had always intended to wait for her. His eyes narrowed dangerously, his gaze turning cold as he looked out the window. Just then, the system announcement rang out. "Congratulations to player Ashley for collecting all 12 cards and obtaining the 'Tears of Gods.' The game has officially ended!" Every player's figure instantly turned gray, dissolving into streams of data and vanishing from the game world.
