The Apocalypse Wolf Queen
By the time Thora got home, it was already close to evening. "Ms. Green, you're back!" Howard said excitedly when he saw Thora. Two years had passed, and he finally got to see Thora again. "Thora." Hearing the noise, Felix slowly came downstairs as well. "Mr. Green." Howard rushed over and reached out to support him. "It's fine, Howard. Go do what you need to do," Felix said softly as he waved him off. "Then I'll start making dinner now," Howard said, and after Thora nodded, he quickly headed into the kitchen. Thora and Felix sat down on the couch in the living room. "Did you go see Grandpa Marlon?" Thora nodded. "I just got back.""Did the guards outside his room stop you?" Felix asked in surprise. "No," Thora answered simply. She already had a rough guess about who those guards were, but she didn't understand the reason behind it yet. Felix was even more confused. "Were they treating you differently?" Thora smiled faintly. "Maybe it has something to do with my identity." "That makes sense. You're not just anyone." Felix immediately accepted the idea. Thora was in special forces, so it was only normal that they would make things easier for her. "Then how is Grandpa now?" "Just like you said, he's in a coma," Thora replied in a low voice, her fingers tightening unconsciously. Felix lowered his eyes, his voice turning cold. "If that woman really is the one who hurt Grandpa, then this time ... don't spare her." Thora stared straight ahead, a cold curve lifting at the corner of her lips. "I came back this time with no plan to let her live." The calm killing intent in her words made Felix's eyes light up instead. In some ways, the cruelty in their blood was uncannily alike. "During this time, you stay home and focus on healing. You are not allowed to go anywhere." Thora turned to warn him. "I'll handle Grandpa and the Greens. If you need anything, ask Howard." Though Howard was the household butler, he was capable in every way, with solid combat skills. He could double as a bodyguard. Felix's wound was not fatal, but injuries caused by silver bullets healed slowly, and he could hardly move properly now. He nodded obediently. "Got it."Soon, Howard finished making dinner. A huge spread of beautifully prepared dishes filled the long table, barely fitting even though it was large enough. Just as the three of them were about to eat, the villa door was suddenly pushed open with a bang, and a bright laugh rang out first. "Thora! I'm back!" Shirley bounced in and saw Felix and Howard in the living room. She immediately waved and called out, "Howard, it's been forever! Felix, why are you here too?" After greeting them, she tossed her backpack onto the couch and rushed toward the dining table like she owned the place. "Hi, Ms. Reed. I'll go get another set of dishes," Howard said and hurried into the kitchen. "Why are you here again?" Felix frowned, his tone full of dislike. Shirley pouted, turned around, and threw herself beside Thora, her eyes turning red. "Wah, Thora, your brother is bullying me and trying to kick me out ... " "When did I bully you?" Felix frowned hard and clutched his injured arm, acting pitiful. "Thora, don't you love me anymore?" Thora's expression twitched slightly. She raised her hand and set her utensils down with a heavy sound. "Eat." Then she started eating first. Seeing that Thora was completely ignoring them, Shirley and Felix fell silent in embarrassment and picked up their utensils to eat. Howard watched the scene and couldn't help smiling. It really felt warm and familiar again. Shirley had come back with a whole bag of candy and treated Thora's villa like her own home, wandering around freely all day. With Felix stuck healing and bored these days, arguing with her once in a while did help pass the time. While chatting, Thora learned that Oliver had sent Shirley home earlier. Shirley thought she would be locked up or even beaten when she got back, but instead, her father had been unusually gentle this time. The sudden change made her uneasy. She felt there had to be a plot, so she simply ran off again and came back here. Thora couldn't help laughing when she heard that and reminded her, "Did you forget what you are now?" "A member of the Wolffang Unit," Shirley replied instantly. "Right. You are a Major now," Thora said calmly. "With your current status, your father would only be proud of you." Shirley's eyes lit up in sudden understanding. "So that's why!" She raised her brows, sounding a little proud. "So does that mean next time I go home, even if I accidentally stab someone, I'll be fine?" Thora shot her a flat look. "You can try." Hearing that tone, Shirley immediately backed down and stuck out her tongue, not daring to joke anymore. Thora didn't chat further and stood up, ready to go out. Just as she reached the entryway, the phone in the living room suddenly rang. She paused, turned around, and went to answer it. "Hello, may I ask if this is Ms. Thora Green's residence?" a strange male voice asked from the other end. "This is she," Thora replied. "Hello, Ms. Green. We are from ... " As she listened, Thora's fingers tightened around the receiver, and her eyes darkened like spilled ink.
