The Apocalypse Wolf Queen

Chapter 168 The Standoff

They moved fast, accurately, and ruthlessly. Even though the guards outside the suite were well trained, none of them lasted more than two moves. When they tried to draw their guns, their wrists were struck first, and their weapons dropped to the floor. There was no chance to fire. No time and no room. The guards in front had no time to react. The ones in the back managed to pull their guns, but their aim shook constantly. The intruders were too fast, using the guards in front as cover so the ones behind couldn't get a clean shot. A few guards tried to trigger their wolf-shift, but their movements were cut off before they could even transform. Three people were fighting. No, two of them alone held off every guard at the entrance. The third one walked forward calmly, passing through the chaos like it didn't exist. Dorian watched her and lifted his hand slightly. His men rushed forward, launching an attack on Thora. Thora clenched her fist, her body wrapped in a dense, liquid-like blue wolf energy. She drove her punch into the guard's chest. He flew like a snapped kite, crashing into the sofa and rolling over several times. Anyone who came close fell in a single move. Just one move, and they couldn't stand up again. This was the result of her half year of extreme training. Her power, speed, and strength had already reached the peak of her past world, maybe even surpassed it. As long as the enemy wasn't an awakened wolf ability user, her physical ability and wolf energy were more than enough. Dorian's eyes narrowed. The three ability users behind him tensed, excited by the challenge staring them down. But Dorian didn't give them permission to move. Thora walked straight to him and stopped. The warm candlelight cast shadows across both their faces. Their features were striking in completely different ways. One carried the sharp steadiness of a grown man. The other still had hints of youth, yet none of its immaturity, mixing cold calmness with something that strangely matched Dorian's own aura. Thora glanced around. She wasn't surprised Dorian had ability users as bodyguards. From the moment she met Lance, she had prepared for this. Then her gaze returned to Dorian. "Hello." Her greeting was polite, as if she hadn't just barged in like a bandit.Dorian stared at her. "Finding this place proves your skill is far better than theirs." Thora didn't respond to the praise. Her expression stayed calm. "But did you really think you could break in this easily?" Dorian said. Immediately, several armed fighters stepped out of the darkness, guns pointed at Thora, Tristan, and Harvey. They held the newest special weapons, powerful enough to suppress wolf energy. A hit would temporarily shut down someone's combat ability. Tristan and Harvey stopped instantly. In that one-second pause, they were captured. Thora had always said that when the enemy's power hugely outweighed your own, survival came first. Though she herself didn't exactly follow that rule consistently. Thora walked to the couch at the side, moving with no hurry, and sat down.Dozens of guns tracked her every step. Anyone else would have collapsed from fear. Thora didn't react at all. Her face stayed smooth and unreadable. She sat straight, legs slightly apart, hands neatly placed on her thighs. Her posture was textbook perfect, the exact opposite of Jason's lazy slouch earlier. Whenever Thora entered negotiation mode, she always held herself with absolute discipline. It was her habit. "Mr. Cipher, do you think I came in here without preparation?" Thora asked. Dorian's brows tightened. Suddenly a red laser dot cut through the window and landed right on his forehead. A sniper. "Alpha!" His betas and subordinates shouted in shock.
