The Apocalypse Wolf Queen

Chapter 164 Score to Settle

In a room ahead of Thora, a one-sided massacre was underway. A man and woman wielding assault rifles charged into a crowd, firing wildly. Within seconds, the floor was littered with bodies. Thora's eyes sharpened as her gaze fell on an inconspicuous spot on their clothing. That symbol belonged to the thief syndicate—Mirage Corsairs. "Sierra, you're a little slow today," Frost said with a laugh and a whistle. Sierra Warren frowned but said nothing. Suddenly, the assault rifles in their hands grew heavy, as if gripped by an invisible giant hand. The moment they lost their grip, the weapons crashed heavily to the ground and shattered into pieces. Both their faces changed drastically as they immediately spun around. Not just them—Thora and her two companions' expressions also grew more serious. "Well, well. Two of the Twelve Generals from the infamous Mirage Corsairs both showed up here. What a pleasant surprise." The man's tone held no surprise, only spine-chilling menace. "Greywolf." The moment Lance appeared, Sierra called out his name. Thora's eyes darkened as her hand immediately made several gestures. Tristan and Harvey instantly understood, gripping their guns as they retreated and circled around from other directions, following Thora's orders. "We never expected to run into the legendary leader of Greywolf, Lance, either." The way Frost looked at Lance carried a hint of excitement. Sierra showed no reaction, simply standing in place and watching him warily."Originally, we each minded our own business and stayed out of each other's way." Lance tucked the gun in his hand into his combat gear. "But today, you killed our targets." His lips curved into a chilling smile as he became completely unarmed. Julio and Sharkie exchanged glances and stepped back in unison. They knew their boss was about to handle this personally. "So I guess I'll just have to kill you both." He spoke these words slowly as purple wolf power radiated around him, purple electricity crackling and buzzing in his palms. Frost and Sierra exchanged glances as gray wolf power emanated around them, both stepping back warily. "Oh, so they were your targets. If you'd said so earlier, we wouldn't have killed them. We could've left them for you." Frost said with a grin. "We were planning to take out everyone left in the casino anyway. Doesn't matter who does the killing. Might as well do you guys a favor."Their goal was to kill everyone who came to the Sky Casino to negotiate partnerships with Dorian. Kill everyone? Thora frowned and immediately sent a message to Shirley, Tristan, Ashton, and the others. If this thief syndicate had this kind of plan, they definitely wouldn't send just Frost and Sierra. If everyone in the casino was wiped out, it would be disastrous both for her and for the Astralis Empire. She had to stop this massacre. Upon receiving the message, everyone immediately followed orders and changed their positions. Luke, Ashton, and the others who'd been outside also quickly infiltrated the casino. Shirley stowed her sniper rifle, her figure flickering as she vanished into the shadows and headed to a different location. After issuing the orders, Thora looked up again. When she saw Frost's face, her movements paused. Wait ... this person ... She suddenly remembered—before she left the base, Darius had been ambushed, and the person who'd pulled the trigger from the shadows was him. "I don't make a habit of talking to dead people." Lance's voice grew colder as the electricity in his palms intensified, the crackling sound becoming even clearer. Frost and Sierra tensed up completely, but their eyes showed no shock. Because they were also ability users with awakened wolf spirits. No matter how powerful Lance was, two against one meant the outcome was anyone's guess. Just then, a figure suddenly emerged from the shadows.Lance, who'd been about to make his move, showed a hint of a smile. "My sweetheart, you finally decided to show yourself." His tone was so intimate it was as if they were lovers who'd only recently parted, completely disregarding the life-and-death situation from moments ago. But what surprised Lance was that after emerging, Thora walked straight over and stood beside him. He'd assumed Thora would either take advantage of the chaos to kill him or wait to pick up the pieces afterward. The one thing he hadn't expected was for her to choose to stand alongside him. Thora's appearance made Frost and Sierra's expressions grow even more grave. Why hadn't they sensed this person's presence at all? Thora ignored Lance's inquiring gaze and simply stared coldly at Frost ahead. "I've got a score to settle."
