The Apocalypse Wolf Queen
Third-person POV: "This is the full recording from the day my mom was attacked." Thora stressed the word "full" like it weighed a ton. A 3D video flickered to life, showing a quiet forest at the edge of town. The moment Diane stepped inside, dark figures leaped from the bushes.. Those were the same rogues officially listed as suddenly going wild. But they didn't move like crazed beasts at all. They attacked smartly, like they knew exactly what they were doing. Just when Diane grabbed for the dagger at her waist, the head rogue lunged and snatched her wrist. His claws cut into her skin, and the pain made her drop the weapon. Then, every strike avoided places that would kill her quickly. The scratches went for spots she couldn't block. The biting force was just enough to make her bleed a lot, not enough to finish her right away. They held her down, making it look like some wild rogues attacked at random. But the real twist showed up at the end. A figure rushed past the trees, too fast to see clearly. No one saw that person's face, but that person definitely held a small container. The moment the rogues went after Diane, that person ran off. When the video cut off, Evren shot up from his seat, gripping his silver-handled cane so hard that his knuckles went white. Felix's eyes filled with rage, his face turning harsh. That wasn't random at all. It was clearly planned! What kind of "feral rogue" knew someone would reach for a weapon and stopped it right away? What kind of crazed beasts attacked with perfect pressure just to fake a death by blood loss?"The official report says the rogues suddenly went wild," Thora said, voice cold. "But this proves they were drugged and controlled. And afterward, someone got rid of the bodies fast and cleaned the whole place up to hide a murder." "So what?" Laurel forced a calm look. "It's a fuzzy video. Even if someone planned a killing, it doesn't mean it was me. It could've been enemies!" "Yeah? How do we even know that the video is real? It could be fake!" Hazel snapped, even though fear flashed in her eyes. Thora looked at Felix. He understood, turned around, and left the hall. He returned a moment later with a woman whose face showed nothing but deep sadness. When Laurel spotted her, all the color drained from her face. Her whole body shook. The woman rushed at Laurel with teary, furious eyes. Felix held her back, but she still yelled, "It was you, Laurel! You flirted with my husband and got him to drug those rogues! You're the reason Ms. Diane and my husband died!" "Stay away! I don't even know who you are!" Laurel screamed, refusing to look at the woman. Norman's face hardened. He stepped in front of Laurel right away and glared. "Who are you? Watch what you say!" "Who am I?" the woman said with a bitter laugh. "I'm the wife of the man your precious wife fooled—the ranger she messed around with! She led him on and ruined his life!" Her accusation sent the hall into chaos. Elders and branch kin murmured in shock. Norman got cuckolded? And someone else got killed? "My husband worked in this forest," the woman continued, trying not to break. Her voice shook, but she forced the words out. "You tricked him. You made him do everything you wanted! Then you told him he just had to finish one job, and you'd pay him and run away together! "You made him give some red drug to the rogues. You told him it would drive them crazy, and they'd follow the one who gave it to them." She stared straight at Laurel. "You said to make the rogues go after Ms. Diane on purpose, so it would look like just bad luck." She wept, tears streaming down her face. "My husband was so stupid for you! After Ms. Diane died, he finally realized how wrong it was. He came to you for the money so you two could escape, but you dumped him! You didn't want him telling the truth, so you had him killed and made it look like he slipped off a cliff!" She covered her face, sobbing. "I wanted to expose you, but I couldn't find you. I didn't get any of the money, and I had to take my child and vanish ... " Laurel's cheeks turned red. Norman held her arm so tight that it looked like he might break it. "I didn't do anything! Honey, don't believe her! Thora brought her here to set me up! You have to trust me! I didn't hurt Diane, and I don't know that man!" Laurel cried, voice shaking. Norman's expression darkened further and further. His wolf power surged, dangerously close to losing control. His wolf power rose, dangerous and close to losing control. Hazel quickly intervened. "Dad, don't listen to them. Thora only brought this woman to smear Mom!"
