Then Veronica walked to him, kissed his forehead, and murmured, “Zach, I love you.” Zach was nervous and alert, but he was shocked by Veronica’s sincere words. Before he realized it, he had already put his hand on her waist and pulled her into his arms. “I love you, too, Veronica.” I would still love you if you were a traitor. I would still love you even though I may send you to jail one day. This was a soldier’s love. The Zergs had huge bodies, red compound eyes, black hooks, and rough skin as thick as sheet iron, and they were bigger than the ones he had seen before. He quietly approached the two huge Zergs with a sharp-edged stone in his hand. He swiftly inserted the stone into one Zerg’s neck, pulled out the gun in the Zerg’s waist, and shot the other one down. After taking the gun, he started to run crazily in the woods. He knew that the gunshot would attract other Zergs, so he had to run out in the shortest time in order to survive. When he ran to the vale mouth at dawn, he was stunned. Zergs. The place was crowded with Zergs.The hill was covered with their caves, and many Zergs were crawling in a hurry in the plain far away. He felt sick, and this must be the most terrifying and disgusting scene in his life. Was this place really a Zerg planet? Although he was hiding in the woods, countless labor Zergs all stopped and looked in his direction because they smelled the blood on his body. He knew they had found him, and he couldn’t hide anymore and started to run deeper into the woods. They started to shoot him behind. **** When he woke up again, his eyes were painful, and he couldn’t see anything. Then he realized what had happened to him. He fought with the Zergs that ran after him, and then bombs exploded in front of him like blooming flowers. The fragments flew to his eyes, and his world fell into darkness.Was he blind? He felt he couldn’t do anything. He wanted to touch his eyes, but a pair of hands suddenly held him tightly. Veronica. He heard her sobs. She was crying. “Don’t cry.” He said softly, “Am I blind?” After a few minutes’ silence, she said, “Yes, you can never see again.” Her voice was trembling. He struggled to sit. Then he said in the darkness, “Veronica, who are you?” “Do you still love me?” She didn’t answer his question. He said the things that he hid in his heart for a very long time in a trembling voice, “Even though you’re a traitor, I will still love you as long as you can go back to the Alliance with me. If you’re put into prison, I will stay there with you. Let’s stay together. till we die, shall we?” But she answered him with silence. After a long while, she finally said in a calm voice, “Zach, you’re blind, and you can’t drive a fighter anymore. There’s nothing you can do in the army. Staying here is your best choice. I will take care of you because I love you. I love you so much. Have a good rest. I’ll come to see you in a few days.” His hands were let go, and she left.
