When the Galaxy Wept
The officers couldn’t help but laugh loudly. Yorick waited for them and knocked on the table with his fingers. “Enough. Are we going to fight a war or not?” “Marshal, don’t you believe in them?” The flight captain asked. “I do,” Yorick said peacefully. “Everything could be fake. But they couldn’t fake the response when they saw each other.” “If the machine men really surrendered to Patrick Lewis, should we let them go?” Someone asked. “When have machine men ever surrendered to humans?” Yorick asked. The officers were silent. Yorick was right. When did the machine men stay with humans peacefully? “So you suspect that…” The operational officer said carefully, “They were pretending to be peaceful with humans?” Yorick smiled, “We’ll know after we see them.” After the meeting, Yorick went back to the rest cabin alone. He stood by the window and lost himself in the scenery of the vast space. He thought of Emerald Wilson and Patrick Lewis. The virtual humans had been wandering in space for many years. He was right when he told Emerald that they were half-machine men. In order to obtain the ability to jump from space to space, they bravely upgraded their bodies and transformed their bodies into semi-machines. This transformation yielded impressive results. In the past thousands of years, virtual humans united other species and destroyed the strongest civilization in the universe, the First Machine Civilization. But Yorick’s time had stopped. He looked like a young man in his twenties, but he had lived for long enough as a half-machine man. The only goal of his troop was to chase and kill the machine men. Although he could make his troop energetic, and all his soldiers had devoted themselves to striking Evan’s troops, he once had a thought about whether they should destroy themselves after they killed all the machine men. There were many couples in the army. However, their love gradually grew insipid when faced with immortal life, and there was no need to be duteous. Therefore, when they saw how excited, and affectionate Patrick and Emerald were when they met each other, all the people couldn’t take their eyes from the image. Their fervor could devour everything, even Yorick and his officers were moved by them. Yorick suddenly thought that maybe the future would be quite interesting. If they could successfully destroy the machine men, then the virtual humans could settle down on the Earth. That would be interesting. Besides, the man called Patrick Lewis must be an outstanding soldier. But how could he make the proud Evan Silas surrender to him? There must be some secrets hidden in him, and he wanted to know. While the warships of virtual humans flew to Galaxy Eternity as planned, Emerald walked out of the bathroom in her pajamas with her face blushed. Out of her expectation, Patrick wasn’t in the bedroom, and Yates was sleeping sweetly in his little bed, with his hands wide open. She kissed her son and then walked out of the bedroom. The light in the study room was still open. She pushed the door and walked in, and she heard Patrick say in a low voice, “...in Freedom City…” He raised his head and saw Emerald, and his eyes seemed to be stuck on her body. Emerald walked to him, and he held her waist so that she could be close to him. “Come here.” He said in a hoarse voice. He looked at her sparkling eyes and smiled, and then he gave her the phone, “It’s Kahlil.” Emerald took the phone in surprise. “Emerald?” Kahlil seemed to be relieved, “It’s great that you can come back safely. I’ll come over to see you in a few days.” “Emm, thank you.” She paused and said, “But Seth was killed by virtual humans.” Kahlil was silent for a while and said, “The King will negotiate with them and let them believe that the machine men won’t invade or fight against other species.” Emerald gave Patrick the phone. Patrick didn’t talk with Kahlil in a hurry. He stared at Emerald and put his hand into her pajamas. Emerald blushed, “You should talk with Kahlil first.” Patrick grabbed her chin and kissed her heavily. Then, after a long while, he finally let her go, “Wait for me in the bedroom. I’ll be distracted if you’re here.” His voice and his face filled Emerald’s heart, so she nodded and walked out of the study room, feeling blurry after the long kiss. Patrick watched her go away and picked up the phone after a long time. “Continue.” Patrick said, “I’ll let Malcolm receive them. One day will be enough for your men to do the thing.” “Understood.” Kahlil said, “If they want to take sides, I’m afraid that Wade Sterling and Veronica can’t be trusted.” “Veronica will certainly take their side, but I’m not sure about Wade Sterling.” Patrick said lightly, “But it’s not important. I won’t give them the opportunity to join together.”After a while, Kahlil asked, “You’re still not going to tell Emerald, are you?” Patrick said lightly, “I’ll send people to watch her. She doesn’t need to know.” After discussing things with Khalil for a long time, Patrick finally returned to the bedroom. They had been missing each other for so long, but they didn’t know what to say when they finally met each other. Patrick had never moved his eyes from Emerald’s face. Instead, he walked to the bed step by step. Emerald felt that he had stepped on her heart. At the sight of his handsome face, she found out that he looked healthier than before. Her heart suddenly ached, and tears fell out of her eyes. He enclosed her in his warm, strong arms and kissed her tears. He asked with a smile, “Why are you crying?” Emerald buried her head in his arms, but he rolled over and pressed her under his body. He couldn’t wait to kiss every part of her. “Wait a minute!” Emerald put her hands into his black hair, “I still have something to say to you.” Patrick answered her with a “hmm,” but he didn’t stop moving, and he said, “Say it.” Emerald didn’t feel that serious because of his moves. Men and women were really different. “Is there something wrong with that machine man, Kenneth Silas? Who is he? Why did he help humans?”
