When the Galaxy Wept

Chapter 181 I Want To Go To The Ground

Two tall men stood in front of a huge French window, staring quietly at the space. There was a thick carpet for the baby on the exquisite wooden floor. Yates Lewis, who was sixty-six centimeters tall, was wearing a white onesie with blue flowers. There was a sweet smile on his chubby face, and he was crawling slowly to the legs in front of him. When he finally crawled to the legs, he opened his little arms, grabbed one leg, and bit on it. Although he tried really hard, he didn’t get it. Then, someone lifted him up. He saw a pair of dark eyes with his big, black eyes. He was even more excited. He babbled to that handsome face and wanted to bite it. Patrick didn’t smile, and he let the little baby wriggle in his arms and grab his uniform. Malcolm Gerald, who stood beside him, couldn’t help but laugh, “When my son wanted to get near you before, he was always frightened by you.” Patrick looked at the baby’s eyes, showed a pure smile, and answered briefly, “He looks like her.” Malcolm asked, “Still no news about her?” Patrick knew that he was trying to cheer him up, so he resolutely answered, “I know she’s still alive. I can feel her.” A long time ago, he had buried his energy in her body. He could feel her, and they couldn’t be separated. But Malcolm thought he was just too stubborn, so he changed the subject, “I’m sorry that I thought you were a machine man. I was afraid that Kenneth made your body and wanted to cheat us with you.” Patrick said, “It was reasonable for you to think that way.” Malcolm sadly remarked, “We have never expected that all the species can live together peacefully. The life we had before is like a dream now.” Patrick didn’t say anything. “That machine King, Kenneth Silas, is quite different from other machine men.” Malcolm said, “I hope this is really what he wants. He was really brave to give all his soldiers to you.” Patrick said lightly, “Maybe the machine men are tired of wars. Not all the machine men like to invade other planets blindly.” When the Galaxy Eternity went back into order, the warships of the Gabe family were quietly parked in an asteroid belt ten thousand light-years away. After making a detailed plan of the attack, Yorick invited Emerald to their last discussion before the war. The officers explained the disposition of the troops, the attack strategies, and the plans of joining the rebel army on the ground after they landed on Earth. After a while, Emerald focused on the floating nephogram in front of her. She was surprised. There seemed to be something wrong with the distribution of the fortresses. Yorick seemed to notice that she was distracted, so he raised his hand, and the officer who was making the report stopped. “What’s wrong?” Yorick looked at her. All the people were looking at her, and Emerald said calmly, “The distribution of troops in Galaxy Eternity was very different from the time when I left.” Yorick raised his eyebrows. “Before, the machine fortresses and the human fortresses were stratified so that the machine men could easily use and control the human fortresses. But now, all the machine fortresses are around Planet Hope, and human and Zerg fortresses are taking the favorable space.” Emerald thought for a while and added, “This is not Evan Silas’ style.” The people were silent, and Yorick suddenly smiled. “Have the humans already made the counterattack?” Emerald guessed, “But how can all the warships stay together peacefully?” “Maybe...” Yorick’s eyes were dark, “This is the machine man’s trap. But what’s their purpose?” Emerald was shocked. But two days later, all the people were astonished by the news that the scout plane gave them. “According to the photos we take, the war situation has changed.” The pilot reported, “All the space fortresses were sprayed with the Alliance’s logo, including the machine warships. It seemed that...” In confusion, the pilot said, “The machine man has surrendered to the human Alliance.”This result was so surprising that no one knew what to say. The technical officer gave Yorick a report and added, “After we monitored the secret mercenary communication channel that Major Emerald Wilson told us, it’s confirmed that the war is over. Their new leader of the Alliance is Patrick Lewis.” Emerald was thinking about something, and she couldn’t believe the name she had heard. She suddenly raised her head and shouted, “What? Who?” “Patrick Lewis, the new marshal of the Alliance, who has the command of humans, machine men, and Zergs.” The technical officer looked at her in surprise and answered her carefully. Other people knew that Patrick was her husband, and they all smiled. Even Yorick Gabe looked at her with a smile. Emerald suddenly stood up, “I want to go to the ground. Yorick, let me go. Now! I want to make this clear!” An officer beside her was choked by the water, but Yorick answered her briefly, “Okay.” Emerald was absent-minded for a little while when she looked at the vast space in the turquoise fighter, Animal of Light and Shadow. Yorick agreed that she could drive a fighter and checked the situation first, not because he trusted her but because there was no one more suitable for this. The army was ten thousand light-years away from Galaxy Eternity. She flew for two days and made three FTL leaps, and she could reach there after another leap. Although she was afraid that she would fall into Evan Silas’ trap again, she was inspired by the information that the scout plane gave them. She didn’t believe this was a trap because this wasn’t Evan’s style. She’d rather believe that Patrick had made a miracle. Now, she only needed to see it by herself. She began to set the coordinate for the next leap. “Have you set the coordinate of the leap on the surface of the Earth?” Yorick asked her in surprise in her earphone. She smiled, “Nothing ventured, nothing gained.” Yorick paused, “I admit that I can’t wait to see the Earth’s surface.” There were mini cameras and listening devices on Emerald’s uniform so that the army behind her could see what she saw. The army could also get real information in case she was in danger. She took a deep breath and pressed the leap button.
