When the Galaxy Wept

Chapter 123 My Wife, Don't Laugh At Me

The applause was even louder. Patrick smiled, and Emerald also looked up and smiled at the people. “They are perfect for each other. He is the Commander, and she is the best pilot. He sent her to the battlefield for the success of the war, and she survived and even saved more people. He almost died in the gunfire of the Zerg to win the war, and she magically awakened the stone man, which was the greatest in the galaxy, and laid the foundation for the Alliance to gain the absolute right to rule the galaxy. There are countless examples like this. I think the only answer to all the coincidences is love, the true, resolute love between two mercenaries! Today, we are fortunate to witness that their love becomes the promise for their whole life. Let’s salute the Commander and Lieutenant Wild Kitten!” When Malcolm finished his words, the bustling deck was suddenly silent. The officers and the soldiers all saluted them in order though they were very excited. After a short silence, Patrick and Emerald both saluted back to them in a standard posture! This was their wedding ceremony. They didn’t need vows or religious ceremonies. The salute could express the soldiers’ blessings for them and their loyalty to each other. They would guard their marriage as hard as they guard the warship and the honor of the humans. Malcolm then started talking again, “Let’s have fun now!” The soldiers’ passion was lit up. When the music became hot, all the officers started to dance to the music. Some of them were dancing with beautiful waitresses and some with female officers. Some male officers even danced with each other and laughed happily. Patrick held Emerald in his arms and walked onto the dancing floor. He looked at her carefully and peacefully, as if he could only see her. She wrapped up his neck with her arms, and she didn’t need words to express her feelings since her eyes could say everything. “I will be drunk today.” He suddenly whispered into her ears. “Emmm.” She would definitely not tell him that she was kind of looking forward to it. “So…” He lowered his head and kissed her, and he bit on her lips and whispered, “my wife, don’t laugh at me.” **** He was more than drunk. There were several tables for the officers in high rank to drink and talk. The minute after Patrick and Emerald sat down, the officers of the Alliance came to make a toast. They were very nice because they were not very close to Patrick. They toasted the new vice Commander in honor with a glass of wine and left after talking to them for a little while. When the Captains of the mercenaries came to them one by one to make a toast, Emerald immediately felt worried for Patrick. They wanted to drink not only with Patrick but also with Emerald. Patrick drank all the wine for Emerald. Although he seemed to be cold and aghast, he was completely honest when drinking with his subordinates, which made Emerald worried. Henry also came to the Ares. When he came to them, a young, pretty woman was in his arms. He didn’t explain too much and raised his glass to them and said lightly, “I hope you can be happy for the rest of your life.” Patrick nodded and drank three glasses of wine with Henry. Henry nodded to Emerald, but she only felt frightened when she saw that young woman. She secretly pulled Patrick’s clothes in the back. It seemed that Patrick understood what she meant, and he said to Henry lightly, “today is my wedding day.” Henry seemed to understand his words and kissed the woman, “don’t worry. I can’t see people die now after what I experienced.”After he left, Emerald still felt uncomfortable, but she couldn’t do anything. After about two hours, it was almost ten o’clock at night. Patrick seemed to be more energetic, with his eyes brighter and his face blusher. Tonight, the soldiers who kept coming to make toasts complimented that their Commander could really drink a lot. Malcolm and the other Captains all smiled at them. Then, Malcolm patted Emerald’s shoulder and said, “sister, take care of him.” Patrick immediately slapped Malcolm’s hand and pulled Emerald into his arms, and looked at Malcolm with disdain, “don’t touch my woman.” Emerald noticed that his tan face started to blush, so she didn’t let him drink and wanted to drink for him, though she couldn’t drink much. But he grabbed her hands and looked at her deeply, “I don’t need a woman to drink my wine.” Then he took the glass and drank all the wine. When it was almost eleven o’clock, some important officials had left, and many mercenaries were drunk. Patrick looked around and stood up with his arms holding Emerald. Then, he said calmly into her ears, “Mrs. Lewis, we need to go to the bedroom to consummate our marriage.” Emerald hastily guided him, “You can lean on me.” He looked at her in surprise and then walked to the outside of the deck, holding her hands. The wedding room was in the Captain’s cabin in the fortress. Once they opened the door, they could smell the flowers and saw the room was decorated with lots of flowers. The king-size bed was covered by a white sheet, without other decorations. Though this was a simple wedding room, Emerald still felt satisfied. Patrick stood still in the center of the room, silently holding her in his arms. Emerald wanted to laugh and tried to coax him, “do you want to have a shower?” He seemed to be soaked in a barrel of wine now. He nodded and looked at her calmly, “I’ll shower myself. You don’t need to come with me.” Watching him walk into the bathroom and close the door, she didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. When she thought of the last time he fell asleep on her, she was really worried that he had fallen down in the bathroom. After a while, she heard the sound of water in the bathroom. Then she opened the door carefully and saw him spread his arms and lean on the tub with his eyes closed. She thought he was asleep, and when she was about to walk in, he suddenly started talking. “Emerald,” he said in a hoarse voice, “I love you.” Emerald’s body was stiff, and she stood by the door and didn’t go outside until he moved again.
