When the Galaxy Wept
The endless black color seemed to darken the whole space. The stone array that carried her was like a loyal horse and moved forward stably to the position several meters away from the fortress. Then the huge stones that could easily destroy the whole fortress fell into silence. She stood up in a calmer way that she never had on the black, cold, and rough stone. Her space uniform was covered by dusk, and that was the mark of the gunfire. Her helmet was distorted because of the crash. Her pure face under that thin helmet was the only light of the space, like a beam of bright moonlight in the night that lit up Patrick’s eyes. Patrick felt that all the other people had disappeared in his eyes, and he could only see her standing quietly, like a magnet attracting all his attention. Her face was still pretty, and she was looking at him gently and firmly, with her eyes shining more brightly than ever. Patrick’s heart was suddenly filled with something. She was different from the one in his memory. It seemed that he could suddenly touch her soul deep inside through her eyes, which were as bright as stars. That soul was free, resolute, and would not be controlled by others, including him. Today, she survived like a miracle and even controlled the mysterious huge stones to save all the people and bravely put her soul in front of him. She seemed to notice his eyesight and how he was astonished, and she smiled, and her eyes were warm. As all the people were looking at her in surprise, she raised her hand firmly and saluted to Patrick, and she seemed very resolute. Before Patrick figured out what that expression on her face meant, she said something, and the stone slowly rose up and took her away from the people’s eyesight. Then, the shield which protected the fortress also retreated. The people were stunned by what they saw through the glass cabin. Eight stone arrays were blocking eight space fortresses. Most of the vast stone arrays behind the Dragon had disappeared somehow. They couldn’t believe that these stones had just moved to surround the space fortresses. Instead, they guessed that the stones were clinging to the fortresses because they could only see the red or blue roof of the Zerg space fortresses. In such a small distance, they couldn’t leap because the great power of the leap could bounce back from the stone and tear the fortresses into pieces! The stone array that Emerald was on went back to people’s eyes. However, this time she stood above the eight stone arrays and looked down at the cruel species that almost destroyed the humans. After being surprised for a while, the people in the commanding center felt confused and excited. Harvey said excitedly to Patrick, “Commander, Mrs….” Patrick smiled for the first time since the war broke out. Suddenly, a beam of dazzling white light appeared in the open space between the Dragon and the stone arrays. One, two, and three. Those were eight space fortresses of the Alliance with five silver stars on the body and two space fortresses of the mercenary with a silver cross, which leaped into space simultaneously! Although every space fortress had the marks of gunfire, everyone in the Dragon was filled with ecstasy. Then Taron Locke apologized in the communication channel, “Admiral, I’m sorry that we came here late. Unfortunately, we have run into a little trouble.” The space fortress blocked Patrick’s eyesight, and then he finally smiled, “No, you’re not late.” Malcolm also said, “Commander, the four damaged fortresses of our army are all parking in a safe coordinate. But we are not sure what is going on now? Does the Zerg lose?”Patrick said with pride in his voice, “Yeah, my woman surrounded them.” At this instant, a technical officer picked up a real-time nephrogram in surprise and said to Patrick, “Commander, the Zerg planet which was nearest from here is rotating faster.” A communication soldier interrupted, “Commander, the Zerg Queen is calling.” Patrick picked up the phone in front of him. The Queen’s voice was more anxious than ever, “Patrick Lewis, I request a truce. Please immediately let the stone arrays go back to their original position. Immediately! The First Planet is going to veer off course, and then the whole Galaxy Eternity will be destroyed!” Patrick didn’t answer immediately, and he just shouted in a low voice, “Captain Yvonne Williams!” This excellent technical officer immediately understood what Patrick wanted, so she lowered her head and calculated quickly and said in a forceful voice, “Commander! The mass of the stone arrays is too big, and its movement will break the balance of the force on the First Planet. In ten minutes, it will leave the original orbit. It still needs a further calculation to make sure what its orbit will be later, but we will all be dangerous.” Instead of being worried, Patrick smiled and picked up the phone and said to the Queen, “I will not call for a truce. I’ll only accept surrender.” After a short silence, the Queen sighed, “So be it. This is the will of God. If I’m talking to the President of the Alliance right now, I will not give up, but I know you don’t care whether the galaxy will be destroyed. You will receive my instrument of surrender in two minutes.” Patrick hung up the phone, and Malcolm said, Commander, Mrs. has gone back to my ship in another channel. She says that the stone arrays will soon return to the place where they were before.” Patrick turned around, and the young officers behind him gave a big round of applause at the same time. Eight Zerg space fortresses quickly disarmed, and human soldiers boarded the Zerg warships in order to prepare for the surrender. Taron and Malcolm came to the Dragon to meet Patrick. It turned out that Malcolm had contacted Taron a long time ago. When the Alliance started the counterattack and controlled the ground, Malcolm led his men to pretend to be the Alliance army and surround the President’s mansion. Then Taron acted quickly to release the wartime battle orders. According to an article in the Constitution, which was scarcely referred to, the highest leader of the army had the right to decide the army during wartime, and the President and the Congress had no right to interfere. In fact, this article has existed for a long time. Taron didn’t use it because he never expected that he would be threatened to lose his position with his frank personality and high reputation. After a short round of intrigue and fighting, Lucas Sterling, Harold, and his partisans were placed under house arrest. The vice president stopped supporting the President decisively because he would be the new President after the downfall of Lucas Sterling.
