God-Tier Like System

Chapter 82 Upgraded Interface

“I’ll give it all to you!” Seemingly without hesitation, Christopher rushed to the storage room and took out the four century-old Unique Cookware from the Parallel Universe Kitchen Appliance and Storage Pack. The level for his four Culinary Skills would be the foundation on which he would gain more thumbs-up in the future. Now was not the time to save up on thumbs-up. When he clicked on the ‘Feed’ button next to the Bonus XP Pet, he heard the automated alert tone say, “Four century-old Unique Cookware detected. Host, do you confirm feeding your pet?” He silently thought, Yes! His phone started to shake for a bit, then the four century-old Unique Cookware on the table flew into the mouth of the Bonus XP Pet in four strikes of light. “Ding! Congratulations, Host. Your pet has consumed four century-old Unique Cookware. Leveling up in progress. Current level is 10. Bonus experience points have increased by 100%.” Upon hearing the automated message, he felt another wave of shock. He knew that feeding the four century-old Unique Cookware would increase his Bonus XP Pet’s level, but he didn’t think it would go up ten levels in an instant. Moreover, a 100% increase in bonus experience points meant that it was double the amount. If it weren’t in the middle of the night when he could’ve made a racket without getting angry complaints, he would’ve already screamed for joy. That wasn’t the end of it. He converted the remaining appliances inside the Parallel Universe Kitchen Appliance and Storage Pack into century-old Unique Cookware and fed them to the Bonus XP Pet. Suddenly, the pet went up by 16 levels, giving him a 160% increase in bonus experience points. It was also clear now that constantly feeding century-old Unique Cookware would cause a decline in the Bonus XP Pet’s ability to level up, and that continuing to feed it would probably cause a further decline. Otherwise, he might have converted all his new kitchen appliances to century-old Unique Cookware to feed his pet with. “Great! Great!” he cheered. The 2.0 version of the Thumbs-Up System provided him with such a great feature. It wasn’t something he could’ve ever imagined. Then what pleasant surprise would the Thumbs-Up Online Mall and Lucky Draw System bring me? he wondered. Putting aside the Bonus XP Pet, he tapped into the Lucky Draw System. The original Golden Wheel had changed. Additionally, Knife Skills, Fire Skill, Tasting Skills, Choosing Skills, and Others—these five cumbersome options were also gone. Instead, an interface similar to a tiger slot machine took its place, and directly above it was a progress bar that said ‘Luck Meter’. Following this Luck Meter was a manual related to its use. ‘Lucky Draw Luck Meter: The length of the progress bar indicates level of luck when playing the Lucky Draw. The higher the level of luck, the more likely you are to draw a great item! A friendly reminder: While the Luck Meter is activated, the system will deduct the appropriate amount of thumbs-up every second according to the length of the progress bar. Please use it prudently!’ He was discreetly pleased when he first saw the introduction to the Luck Meter, but once he got toward the end and realized that he would lose a certain amount of thumbs-up every second while the Luck Meter was activated, his satisfaction disappeared. In addition, the last few words, ‘Please use it prudently!’, led him to decide that unless he already had more than enough thumbs-up in the future and unless it was absolutely necessary, he wasn’t going to activate the Luck Meter that often. This Luck Meter could very well be an absurd feature that would con him of his thumbs-up. After exiting the Lucky Draw System interface, he tapped into the Thumbs-Up Online Mall. There wasn’t much of a change in the online mall interface, but there was quite a significant change in its content. The most apparent change was the three items: Strength Bun, Agility Dumplings, and Speed Gyoza, which were previously on the homepage, were now taken down. In its place was an ad banner stating ‘90% Special Discount Today’. Christopher was overjoyed. In fact, after drinking the Bone Broth Detox Soup, he didn’t quite need the Strength Bun, Agility Dumplings, and Speed Gyoza anymore as they didn’t have any effect. The ‘90% Special Discount Today’, however, was clearly different. Items that originally needed hundreds of thousands of thumbs-up to exchange for would reduce to a few thousand after the discount. It was practically free. I didn’t get a system upgrade for nothing. It was worth the scare! he thought. Aside from the godly existence of the Bonus XP Pet, this ‘90% Special Discount Today’ was an enormous gain. A night passed. The next morning, Christopher went to work at The Serenade. Even though he didn’t sleep all night, after being rejuvenated by the Bone Broth Detox Soup, he didn’t feel the least bit worn out. It was slightly out of his expectation. Initially, he assumed that Luna would spend the day resting at home, but he was surprised to see that she had arrived at The Serenade earlier than he did. He saw the female director as he was walking by the director’s office. She’s truly a workaholic! He shook his head with this thought in mind. Not everyone could compare to Luna’s work attitude. Remembering that he had things to discuss with Luna, he knocked on the officer door and went in. “I didn’t think you’d be here.” She looked up at him with a slightly surprised look. “I thought you were going to take a day off again and not come to work.” Take a day off again and not come to work? He was rather flustered to hear that. It looked like her impression of him was quite bad. He reckoned that if he wanted to seize this goddess, he had to change her impression of him. Laughing to ease the awkward tension, he said, “Director, seeing you work this hard, we, as employees, naturally have to work even harder.” Flattery was the best weapon. Either way, he needed to flatter her first. “Really?” Nevertheless, she didn’t seem too interested in his flattery. “It’s good that you think that way.” Noticing that Christopher hadn’t just come over to say hi and was still standing in place, she put the documents in her hands aside and asked, “Is there anything else?” “Well, Director…” He took a moment to clear his throat. “Do you remember when you wanted to promote me to sous-chef before, but I declined it? I’ve thought it through. After all, I am a member of The Serenade. As the person who should bear this responsibility, I think it would still be better for me to do it. So, I take back what I said.” It was not true that he wanted to bear the responsibility. The main reason he wanted to be a sous-chef was because he could easily receive praise if he made food for people. He was certainly not going to let go of such an opportunity. Even though he lacked slightly in Fire Skill at the moment to become a sous-chef, he still decided to give it a try. Moreover, he had the Bonus XP Pet in his hands now. Even if his Culinary Skills were not up to par yet, he believed that it wouldn’t be long before he would catch up. He wanted to bring this up to Luna when she sent him home last night, but while he was debating the ‘wild or cold in bed’ question, it slipped his mind. Since she was here today, he figured he might as well talk about it.
