God-Tier Like System
In the penthouse of Caesars Palace, the only five-star hotel in Brentwood City, a handsome and slender young man with a unique aura was drinking a particular aged red wine while looking through the comments online. “The descendant of Charles Yard, the saint of cooks?” Looking at the post that currently had the most comments, the young man couldn’t help but sneer. “They associated him with Charles Yard just because of his last name. In that case, wouldn’t the saint of cooks have a ton of descendants? But it is quite astonishing how you, an unqualified line cook, have four pieces of century-old Unique Cookware. I don’t even have one myself. What right do you have to own them? Good kitchen utensils must meet a good chef. It’s such a waste for those century-old Unique Cookware to be in your hands. Christopher Yard, huh?” While looking at the blood red wine in the wineglass, the young man murmured to himself, “I don’t think you have the right to have those century-old Unique Cookware!” Knock-knock. Just then, someone knocked on the door. Pulling his brows together gently, the young man finished the red wine in his hand at once and stood up. Looking out the large French windows at the busy night view of Brentwood City, he called out, “Come in.” Shortly after, an old man in a tailcoat, who exuded a dignified air about him, walked in from outside. He bent forward slightly with his hand over his chest and bowed to the young man with utmost respect. “Young Master!” “Young Master?” As soon as he heard this form of address, the incredibly handsome and outstanding young man frowned slightly in dissatisfaction. “Mr. Doyle, I remember talking to you about this! When we are at the hotel, call me head chef and not Young Master. Have you forgotten?” the young man reprimanded in a fierce tone. Nevertheless, the old man did not have a change in expression, as though he had not heard a thing. If it had been someone else who had made a mistake in a sensitive issue like formal addresses, they wouldn’t have to come back for work at the Caesars Palace anymore the following day. It was clear that this old man was an exception. Even someone with a prestigious status such as the young man had to give in to this old man. “Mr. Doyle, it’s late now. Why did you come see me?” the young man massaged his aching head as he asked. “Young Master.” Without correcting himself, Earl Doyle continued, “We received a message from Miss Soto that the press conference they originally planned to have at our hotel for the movie ‘Glutton God’ tomorrow will possibly have to be pushed back a day and take place the day after.” “Pushed back a day? Why?” The young man furrowed his brow. “Miss Soto didn’t give a specific reason,” Earl answered. “She only said she had to see a friend in Brentwood.” “See a friend,” the young man sneered. “I didn’t know Maya had friends in Brentwood.” However, he didn’t ponder too much on it and said, “We’ll push it to a day later, then. Tell the staff to figure it out themselves. Don’t come to me to ask about minor details anymore.” “I got it.” After getting the young man’s answer, Earl prepared to step out again. At that moment, however, the young man suddenly called out, “Wait, Mr. Doyle.” “Yes, Young Master?” “Help me look into someone,” he ordered. “Look into someone?” “Yes!” The young man nodded. “He’s a line cook who works at a restaurant called The Serenade. Look into who he is and his background. Let me know once you find out.” “Yes, Young Master,” Earl replied after a moment of hesitation. Even though he didn’t quite understand why someone as great as him would suddenly be interested in a line cook, he also knew that he shouldn’t pry any further than he should. After answering the young man, Earl exited the room. Once Earl was gone, the young man went back to sitting in front of his computer. He had his legs crossed and was leaning back against the chair. His eyes sparkled as he looked at the enlarged close-up of Christopher’s four century-old Unique Cookware on his screen. … The next morning, Christopher went to work at The Serenade as usual. As soon as he walked into the restaurant, however, he saw a group of waitresses gossiping among themselves about something. Moreover, the bunch of male kitchen porters, who weren’t doing their work either, were looking at the director’s office Luna was in on the second floor. F*ck! Don’t tell me something has gone wrong again! Christopher lamented in despair. The issue with Hayden had just come to an end. He didn’t want trouble to arise again today.Taking a couple steps forward, he finally knew what the girls were gossiping about. “Is it Maya Soto? Is it really Maya Soto? Maya Soto, who acted in ‘God of War’?” “Yes! She came into the restaurant with sunglasses on and a sun hat, but please trust me when I say that it is Maya Soto without a doubt!” “Wow!” After hearing how certain her friend was, one of the waitresses almost passed out from being overjoyed. “It really is her! I am such a big fan! This won’t do. I’ll have to find a chance to get her autograph later and take a picture with her. Ah, I love her so much!” This girl must have been one of Maya’s diehard fans. Currently, it looked like her eyes were filled with stars. “But why is Maya at our restaurant?” one of the girls asked. “We didn’t get the news beforehand!” “I don’t know. I think she’s friends with Chef Sparks. Maya happened to have some work in Brentwood, so she made a special visit to see Chef Sparks. It’s no surprise. All the attractive women get to be friends with women who are just as attractive. It won’t happen to us,” one girl reproached. After listening to their conversation, Christopher came to understand the situation. Earlier, he wondered why those animals from the back kitchen looked so excited; it turned out that it was because Maya was here. In the age of online feuds, it was hard for someone to be loved by all. People always had one reason or another to hate a person. But there was an exception—Maya Soto! She was a national goddess, and the youngest actress in history to become a member of the Ten-Billion Box Office Club. Three years ago, an adapted fantasy blockbuster called ‘God of War’ helped her rise to stardom. Almost every movie she starred in became a big hit. In just three years, she accumulated 10 billion in the box office. Furthermore, she wasn’t like the other current famous female celebrities, who were bogged down with sex scandals and a myriad of problems. Ever since her debut, she hadn’t had any negative news released about her. The usually rigorous entertainment media reporters treated her with a leniency they rarely showed. They often praised her, saying she was the Madrilan starlet and the forerunner over the next few decades. A man-eater! The goddess of nerds! She held many titles to her name. Apart from having a male fan base, she was also popular among female audiences; in fact, quite a number of young female fans who watched her impressive performance on ‘God of War’ all fell for her. In short, she was well-liked among people of all age groups and genders. Maya Soto is here now? Sh*t!
