God-Tier Like System

Chapter 29 Because You’re Pretty!

He lay quietly on his bed and started to recall everything that happened in the past twenty-four hours. When he received the Wish Seasoning in the beginning, he even thought that it was merely an item that seemed useless, but it was a waste to ditch it. He never expected it to come in handy in such a short time. Not only did it make him win Mr. Moses’s heart, he also had the chance to watch a movie with Luna. Also, it was quite strange, so to speak. Be it Dual Wielding, Truth Juice, or Wish Seasoning, whatever he drew would always end up becoming useful, no matter if its effects were immediate, after a few hours, or even after an entire night. All of it appeared to be like a manipulated program. Once the program began to run, it would operate according to the designed procedures until the end. Besides, there was another strange thing—Christopher thought he would receive a thumbs-up after Mr. Moses had a taste of the dish in his memory. However, much to Christopher’s own surprise, the notification beep was nowhere to be heard. He had also checked the Thumbs-Up System earlier and he found that the total of thumbs-up points he received still remained at 1,000.He initially thought that he had already figured out the system’s mechanism, but now it seemed that he was wrong. It looks like the so-called Thumbs-Up System still has a lot for me to explore! Christopher thought as he glanced at the old Android phone in his hands before he fell asleep in a daze. It was a sunny morning the next day where the crystal blue sky resembled a clear mirror. Since he didn’t have to go to work, he slept without any stress and only woke up when it was almost noon. Grabbing his phone, he trotted to the bathroom and started to wash up. Christopher almost couldn’t live without his phone and had to make sure it would always be within sight. He didn’t even dare to switch off his phone because he feared that the Thumbs-Up System would disappear if it did, causing him to be devastated. All of a sudden, his phone rang and it was Samantha calling him. As soon as he answered the phone, her playful and adorable voice came through. “What’re you doing?” she asked in laughter. “I’m thinking about you!” he answered with a straight face while washing up. Upon hearing that, Samantha immediately became quiet. In fact, Christopher was purposely teasing her and he could imagine how adorable the shy girl looked with her face flushed red. “Did you just wake up? Why am I hearing you gargling?” After a moment of silence, she changed the topic. “I worked really hard yesterday, so the boss gave me a day off,” he answered. Unlike other jobs, he didn’t have the weekends off. One pathetic thing about being a cook was that he had to work during the weekends, holidays, and festivals. Why? It was because the restaurant would be filled with people whenever it was a holiday. As for Christopher, he only had two days off in a month, so it was indeed rare to have an off day specially approved by Luna. “You’re on leave? Awesome!” When Samantha knew that Christopher was on his off day today, she became excited. However, a second later, she felt that she had to be reserved as a graceful lady, so she continued shyly, “I don’t have to work today too. Why don’t we go for lunch later?”Well, it was actually equivalent to an invitation to a date, not to mention that Samantha was a beauty that was comparable with Luna! When was the last time Christopher encountered such luck? Never! So, he agreed without any hesitation as he certainly wouldn’t say no. After hanging up the phone, he changed into clean clothes and shaved his beard. A quick change of clothes later, he hopped down the stairs with excitement. When he arrived at Samantha’s block, the gorgeous girl was already waiting for him under the tree’s shade. Today, she sported a ponytail and she wore a sky-blue sporty T-shirt with a pair of dark grey jeans. There was a pair of white canvas shoes on her feet, all of which made her look like the girl next door. However, even though she had dressed up so modestly, she still garnered a lot of attention as every man who passed by her would peek at her. Just like Luna, she was born to attract men. In Christopher’s eyes, Samantha was pure and untainted. She radiated elegance and freshness all over her and the most commendable thing about her was her elegance carried a hint of allure. Up until now, he still remembered how charming she looked when she walked out of the bathroom that night. Meeting the dangerous gazes from all the men, he walked over to her side and held her hand. Once again, she blushed beet red and even the hair on her neck stood on end due to her excitement, which Christopher managed to clearly capture. Samantha didn’t refuse when Christopher abruptly held her hand and instead, she secretly rejoiced. Furthermore, since it was her first time holding hands with a man, her heartbeat couldn’t help but begin to accelerate. “Where should we go?” Flattered by the envious gazes from the men around them, he asked proudly. Although he was only left with 1,000 after redeeming from the Thumbs-Up System and was at the risk of running out of food, men shouldn’t act stingy in front of women. Therefore, even if he was pretending, he had to at least act like he didn’t care. “Anywhere,” Samantha whispered. She didn’t care about what they would eat because she mainly wanted to meet Christopher. “There’s a newly opened restaurant nearby and I’ve heard good reviews about it. We’ll go there.” Right now, he grew completely triumphant and strode forward while holding her hand.Inside the restaurant, Samantha had no idea whether Christopher was hungry for a meal or her instead when she saw him staring at her all the time. She had already tried her best to look as graceful as possible, but she still wondered whether he saw any unsightly scene while she ate. “Why do you keep staring at me?” she complained as she was bewildered at him staring at her. “Because you’re pretty!” He had become more shameless by saying such cheeky words with a straight face. As soon as she heard that, her face flushed red again and she was too embarrassed to reply. “Do you play billiards?” Christopher asked after lunch. “A little,” Samantha answered humbly. Back in college, she had played it a couple times with her roommates. Although she understood the rules and knew how to play the game, she still wasn’t skilled enough. “It’s okay,” he replied. “I can teach you if you don’t know how to.”
