“Mateo? He’s still suffering from bronchial asthma?” Christopher asked in a slightly astonished voice after Harold finished telling the whole story. Harold nodded. “Yes, the news reporter called Callum Allen is under the Mateo Entertainment Company, and the magazine under them is called Pleasure Entertainment Magazine.” Christopher nodded, seemingly thinking of something. Mateo suffered from bronchial asthma before, and he almost died on the hospital bed, so how could he possibly have the mental capacity and strength to find fault with me? The reporter, Callum, who had appeared before Christopher twice in a row, must have been bribed by someone to ruin his reputation. When it came to certain situations, for it to happen once was enough; for it to happen twice was exceeding Christopher’s tolerance limit. Christopher didn’t carry on chatting about nonsense. He went straight to the ward to find Mateo, who got so excited when he saw Christopher that he nearly got down from the hospital bed. Mateo was all smiles as he asked, “Divine Doctor Yard, to what do I owe the pleasure?”Feeling a little helpless, Christopher told Mateo about the matter regarding Callum. “What? That b*stard, Callum, had the nerve to accept bribes from others and go against you? That’s simply presumptuous. Divine Doctor Yard, don’t worry. I’ll call him immediately and get him to make amends. Cough!” When Mateo finished listening to Christopher’s explanation, he fiercely slapped the headboard with his right hand, and fury enveloped his features. He coughed a few times, then picked up his phone and dialed Callum’s number without another word. A roar-like voice escaped Mateo’s mouth. After harshly chewing him out for a while, Mateo hung up the phone. When he was done speaking, he coughed a few times before finally steadying his breath. “Divine Doctor Yard, don’t worry. I’ve already asked him to come over. When he gets here, I’ll immediately ask him to kneel and apologize to you. Then, I’ll fire him on the spot and never hire him again!” Mateo’s remarks made him sound slightly disappointed in Callum. After speaking, Mateo sighed and repeatedly apologized to Christopher. Christopher shook his head and said, “Mr. Gordon, this matter has nothing to do with you. I just want to find Callum.” Mateo nodded in response. In no time, a man wearing a yellow T-shirt and glasses walked through the door of Mateo’s ward. It was the news reporter Christopher had seen that time. “President Gordon, is there a reason you asked me to come—” When Callum saw Mateo, his eyes flickered before he put on a smile. Slap! However, before Callum finished speaking, Mateo’s right hand flew out, and he delivered a fierce slap across Callum’s face. He lashed out with such great force that he knocked out one of Callum’s teeth, and a trace of blood appeared at the corners of his lips. “Who the f*ck gave you the guts to frame Divine Doctor Yard!” Mateo bellowed. Callum was stunned at first, but when he saw Christopher, he immediately understood what was going on. He licked the blood around his lips, and his initial cowardice disappeared and was replaced by a sneer. With his right hand, Callum wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, then said with a smile, “Hey, Mr. Gordon, your days are numbered, so why bother struggling with such matters? Does anyone need to give me the courage to do things? If I didn’t have the guts, how could I be a reporter?” “You! I’m telling you. As of now, you’re fired. From today onward, you’re no longer an employee of my company!” Mateo suddenly became furious and yelled while pointing at Callum. Callum seemed unconcerned as he said with a look of disdain on his face, “If I’m fired, then so be it. I have a place to go to anyway, and their company is bigger than yours!” Upon hearing this, Mateo was enraged. He wanted nothing more than to jump up from the hospital bed and beat Callum up like there was no tomorrow, but he was held down by the nurse. When Christopher and Harold heard Callum’s statement, they subconsciously exchanged a look, but said nothing else. They treated it as if nothing had happened while Callum continued laughing at Mateo. There was a trace of coldness in Christopher’s eyes. Seeing as how Callum was being so arrogant, it seemed like the person giving him instructions wasn’t anyone simple. If that’s the case, I’d like to see who’s the mastermind. After Callum finished speaking, he spat in contempt, then looked disdainfully at Christopher. “Christopher, right? You’ve provoked someone you can’t handle. Just wait to see me ruin your reputation!” With that, Callum sneered before leaving the ward. Christopher fixed Callum’s back with a cold stare, and his lips curled up into a strange smile. This is all I need. As long as Callum left Mateo’s company, the person who owned the company where Callum went to next should be the person Christopher was looking for. “President Myers, have you sent someone to keep an eye on Callum?” Christopher asked coldly. “It’s been arranged. My bodyguards are the cream of the crop, and they’ve never failed me,” Harold answered at once. Nodding, Christopher let out a cold grunt. Not only did he want to send Callum to prison, he also wanted to find out the person behind his actions and properly settle the score with them. Christopher continued talking to Mateo for a while more. When there was nothing else to talk about, he went to Madilyn’s father’s ward to check up on him. Upon knowing that there was no major problem, he left. Just as Christopher was about to leave the hospital, two police officers suddenly showed up and handcuffed him as he watched on in astonishment. It was worth noting that since getting to know Noah, Christopher had never resisted when the police handcuffed him, because in the end, he would definitely be released. What’s going on with these policemen lately? They don’t seem to be from the Southwest District. Christopher could roughly recognize the policemen under Jefferey in the Southwest District. “I’d just like to know this: Why are you handcuffing me?” Christopher asked, seemingly filled with interest. One of the policemen sneered, then gave Christopher a hard shove. “Why? Because you provoked certain people you can’t afford to provoke. Is that reason enough?” After saying that, the policeman stuffed Christopher into the police car.
