God-Tier Like System
The girl was none other than Samantha, whom Christopher had saved from Sean just yesterday. He didn’t expect that she would run into trouble again after just getting rid of that swindling b*stard. In fact, this girl had left a strong impression on Christopher. At that moment, the punks had started yanking on her clothes. With a swoop, Christopher rose from his seat and walked toward the men. With tear-filled eyes, Samantha shrank back in fear as she stood in the middle of several burly men like a lost child. She wanted to escape, but no matter where she turned, the punks would push her back. She had gotten off work early today, so she thought that maybe she could earn some money to pay her mother’s hospital fees by singing. In fact, she studied music in college but after she graduated, she worked in a cafe to support her living. Despite that, she never gave up on her dream. Her previous customers were fine, but she never expected her fourth job to turn out like this. She wasn’t stupid. Clearly, she knew that these men who hired her weren’t good people, but she couldn’t refuse the payment of 100. Usually, she charged ten bucks for a song or dance. For a hundred, she would have to work the whole night. When she remembered that her mother was still in the hospital and that her surgery was going to cost a lot of money, she gritted her teeth and accepted the payment. How could she have expected that these men wanted her to strip dance? Why do I always get myself in trouble? First, it was Sean Walker, and now these punks. At this thought, she felt incomparably aggrieved. The tears that were welling up in her eyes for a long time finally gushed out. “Aw, she’s crying!” Not only did the aggrieved look on Samantha’s face not rouse any sympathy from those men, but it made them tease her even more. At that moment, the bald, burly man scratched his head, stepped forward, and stretched out his arm. The sound of fabric being ripped filled the air as he tore off Samantha’s blouse that she had kept for years. At once, the smooth and pale skin on her shoulders were exposed. Now, the punks were even more excited as they cheered. Meanwhile, the bald, burly man sniffed the blouse that he had just torn off lewdly before nodding with a pleased expression. The body scent emanating from a young girl’s body excited him. With a heavy breath and bloodshot eyes, the man reached out again with both hands to rip off the remaining clothes on Samantha’s body. Watching the hands that were approaching her, she lost all hope. She could only put her hands in front of her chest to cover herself as she squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for that humiliating moment to arrive. But at that moment, it sounded as if someone had grabbed the bald man’s hands before Samantha felt a person standing in front of her. When she opened her eyes, she saw a familiar back that was shielding her. “Christopher!” she called out in disbelief with a hand over her mouth. She never thought that she would bump into him again, let alone when she needed help the most. Hearing Samantha call out to him, Christopher didn’t respond. Instead, he glared at those punks in front of him with a wary face. At once, the bald man grunted. He wasn’t expecting anyone to stand up for this brat. He froze for a moment before viciously growling at Christopher, “Well, well! A knight in shining armor is here to rescue the damsel in distress! Let me warm you, kid. You better get lost and mind your own business, or you’ll be sorry!” “That’s right! Don’t you know who our boss is?” After the bald man spoke, a yellow-haired punk on the sidelines interjected. “Our boss is Freddy Hills! How dare you meddle in our business? Do you have a death wish?” “I don’t know who Freddy Hills is, but it’s not quite right for you guys to pick on a girl like this!” Christopher said. “Pick on her?” The man named Freddy laughed. “What do you mean we’re picking on her? She took our money, so she has to dance. Isn’t it reasonable?” “Strip dancing is a dance too! Since she didn’t mention that she wouldn’t do it when she took our money, then this b*tch will strip dance for me! I’m not a very patient man. Keep playing the hero and watch me get rid of you!” The bald man yelled, but Christopher remained silent. There was no use trying to reason with these men, so he simply took Samantha’s hand and walked out of the crowd. But after only a few steps, the group of men blocked them. “What’s the meaning of this? How dare you disrespect me? You think you can get away like this? You’re dead!” Freddy raised his brow before a malicious smile appeared on his face. “I haven’t been here for some time and it seems that everyone has forgotten all about me. Well then, I don’t mind reminding all of you!” At that moment, Freddy thought that Christopher, the idiot who tried to force his way out, didn’t understand the situation and was stupid to try to take the girl away. Who does he think he is? He thought that if he couldn’t handle a small matter like this, he wouldn’t be respected anymore. As such, he thought that it was necessary to kill this kid to warn the others. By establishing his power, he would be able to curb any other brat that tried to be the hero. Just then, he signaled to the other punks before they sneered and pulled out their knives. Swinging the knives in their hands, they slowly approached Christopher. As the situation was getting out of control, the onlookers were about to call the police but before they could even dial a number, one of the punks had slammed the phone onto the ground, smashing it into pieces. Arrogantly, the punk held up his knife and swung it at the crowd while roaring, “Nobody move! This is none of your business!” The onlookers were civilians, so they didn’t dare to move after being threatened by the punk. “You should go!” Samantha spoke weakly as she tugged on Christopher’s sleeve. The punks had knives and there were so many of them, whereas Christopher was alone. He was no match for them at all. She was touched that he stood up for her when she was most helpless, but if he got hurt because of her again, then… Although she didn’t want these men to strip her and humiliate her, she was more reluctant to be the cause of any injury to Christopher. Furrowing her brow, she was ready to face all of this alone, but just then, he patted her hand to comfort her. “Don’t worry. I’m right here,” he muttered to her.
