Chapter 160 Exhaustion Disease

While administering the acupuncture, Christopher couldn’t avoid seeing Hilda’s chest. He figured her assets couldn’t be much smaller than Samantha’s. He gulped and struggled to avert his gaze while proceeding with his work. He suddenly heard a muffled moan from Hilda, so he looked and saw that her long eyelashes were quivering and there was a faint blush on her face. He immediately realized that she hadn’t slept for the whole day, which was why she didn’t open her eyes. Christopher didn’t want to mention it either. After he was done with the acupuncture, he swiftly helped to put on her clothes and gave a helpless laugh. He had administered acupuncture twice and also learnt how to clothe girls in the process. Harold finally returned after a long while. There were beads of sweat on his forehead and face as he held a few packets of traditional medicine in his hands. Christopher gave it a quick glance and judging by the amount, he guessed that there were about 3 servings. Coincidentally, 3 servings of that medicine was what Hilda needed to completely recover. Knowing that, Christopher immediately took the medicine from Harold, who gave a bitter smile. Christopher proceeded to prepare the medicine himself in order to avoid any mishaps. 2 hours later, the first serving was ready for consumption, so he took the medicine to her for her to drink. He noticed that after Hilda drank the medicine, the pale complexion of her face improved instantly and a healthy blush spread faintly across her cheeks. It was the same for her lips. It was an indicator that she was recuperating, so Christopher completely relaxed when he saw it. It was apparent that the medicine could truly heal illnesses. Ding! “Congratulations to the Host for saving a girl despite the hardships! She is now slowly recovering and her life is no longer at stake. The Host is thus awarded 5000 Thumbs-Up points!” As Hilda’s health recovered, the mechanical voice rang out once again in Christopher’s mind. He nodded before he swept a cold look at Harold, who was standing next to him. Harold was obviously intimidated at this, for he trembled so hard that he was almost kneeling. “M-Mr. Yard, I have already brought the Icarus Root and the 50 million card is ready. Please, I only ask for you to save my life. I will do anything you ask in return.” The pleading tone in Harold’s voice was mixed with trembles. As he spoke, humility was fully expressed on his face and he dared not move a muscle. Christopher gave a cold snort and answered indifferently, “I can grant your wish, but don’t show me that face ever again. Remember, I have the ability to save you as well as to make you suffer, so you better do as I say.” Harold’s body trembled again as he hastily replied, “You’re absolutely correct, Mr. Yard. I will definitely change my ways in the future. If not, I’ll—” “I don’t care about your oaths. Give me your hand.” Once again, Christopher glared coldly at Harold. Harold immediately reached out with his hand, which Christopher grabbed and proceeded to take his pulse. A weird look crossed Christopher’s face. He double checked to make sure it wasn’t a mistake before the look on his face deepened. “Did you eat something weird before?” Christopher curiously stared at Harold, a mocking look on his face as he spoke. Upon hearing this, Harold’s expression turned for the worse. He lowered his head, as if unwilling to disclose further information. Christopher waved his hand at this and coldly uttered, “Leave, then. I cannot treat you!”His words caused Harold to tremble again and he could feel his heart cease to beat at that moment. A panicked look appeared on his face as he quickly said, “I’ll tell the truth! I’ve heard before that if you combine and consume the flesh of earthworms, centipedes, dolphins, and other various animals for 99 days, your lifespan will increase, so I ordered people to—” After looking at Christopher, Harold spoke guiltily. What the heck!! The moment he heard Harold’s words, Christopher couldn’t help but exclaim in his mind. He could feel that there was something rolling about in Harold’s stomach and it was trying to get out. This guy actually ate something like that? Standing next to them was Noah, who also appeared to be shocked. Harold was the esteemed chairman of Brentwood City Oceana Limited Company with countless subsidiaries under him and he belonged to one of the influential families in Brentwood. Noah couldn’t believe that Harold would believe in such things! Christopher took in a deep breath as he slowly said, “If you really ate something like that, then my diagnosis was correct; you have the Exhaustion Disease. There are a few miniscule worms in your body and they have such a strong vitality that normal medicine can’t do anything against them. They are consuming your flesh and blood as well as numbing your nerves. On top of that, they have already cut off multiple meridians in your body.” Harold’s expression worsened. It’s that bad? No wonder I can feel intense pain in my chest and I can't even move sometimes. It’s all thanks to the worms! He grabbed Christopher’s hand in a panic. “Mr. Yard, you have to save me. I have elders and children to take care of. I can’t just die...” Christopher curled his lips and said, “I’ll write you a prescription. For one whole month, you must abstain from your desires and avoid eating meat and the like. You also have to do a checkup every day. By the 5th day, the pain in your chest would be gone and by the 7th, the convulsions in your body would cease. After 9 days, you would be able to move your body at night and after 11 days, you would’ve completely healed.” With this, Christopher took a pen near him and wrote down a prescription. After checking it to make sure there were no mistakes, he passed it to Harold, who hastily received it with both hands. Harold looked at the medicinal ingredients listed on the prescription. They were all precious ingredients—some cost tens of thousands and some even ventured into the hundred thousands. However, at that moment, he didn’t feel any reluctance in his heart as he was instead overjoyed. His eyes shone brightly when he took the prescription; it was as if he had received a priceless treasure. Then, he happily walked away. Seeing that there was nothing more to be done at Noah’s place, Christopher turned to leave. However, Noah seemed to have thought of something as he wore an expression of gratitude and said, “Christopher, you saved my daughter. I can’t help you with anything right now, but if you ever get into trouble, just come to me. I will help you in whatever way I can. Also, I will get people to watch over that shop of yours.” Christopher nodded and didn’t do anything unnecessary. He simply said a word of thanks and left Noah’s house.
