God-Tier Like System
Brian looked stern hearing Wallace’s words. “Wallace, Christopher is my guest, but your nephew took advantage of your power and wanted to chase my guest away. He even cursed him. How do you think we should deal with him?” Wallace broke out in a cold sweat when he perceived the coldness in Brian’s words. After all, Brian could cause him to lose his job with the snap of a finger. “Deputy Director Hughes, I’ve failed to discipline him. Please give me a chance.” Wiping off his cold sweat, Wallace felt like there was something stuck in his throat and he could hardly spit a word. Brian glanced at Christopher, who was standing beside him, and hummed coldly in response. It was as if he was telling Wallace to hurry up as he couldn’t be bothered to waste more time with him. Slap! Wallace nodded immediately and glared frigidly at Benny, who was standing beside. Then, he reached out his hand and slapped Benny fiercely on his face. “As the finance division manager, did I teach you to bully the others? Did I ask you to snatch others’ seats? Did I teach you to simply mock and curse the others just because you are in a dispute?”Wallace gave Benny three merciless slaps one after another with an apathetic look because he knew that if he didn’t do so, he might lose his job. Benny had to pay the price for offending someone he couldn’t afford to offend. At the same time, the haughty look of Benny’s disappeared completely as fear spread across his face. He had never expected that his uncle who normally treated him well would be this ruthless today. Benny ate his heart out for acting recklessly and wanting to snatch the seat just now. If he didn’t take advantage of his uncle’s power, things wouldn’t have turned out this way. Covering his face with his hand, Benny looked at Brian and Christopher and realized something. Then, he quickly apologized, “I’m sorry, Uncle Wallace. I should’ve listened to you.” However, Wallace snorted and turned away from him without saying a word as he was waiting for Brian to make a judgment. Seeing so, Brian turned to look at Christopher, who stretched and yawned. Then, Christopher said to Benny in an indifferent manner, “Get out of here. Your existence spoils my mood.” Hearing that, Brian yelled instantly, “Get out at once! Are you waiting for me to punish you?” Wallace and Benny were terrified hearing Brian’s retort. They quickly nodded and stumbled out of the room without saying anything more. After the two had left the small room, Brian said with haste, “Mr. Christopher, please follow me. I’ll help you settle those matters.” Christopher nodded and followed Brian. After passing the documents to Brian, he patiently waited in the room. While he was waiting, Christopher pondered if he should hire a capable employee to help him run the restaurant so that he would be able to earn more Thumbs-Up points besides having plenty of free time. Humans generally wanted to live an easy life, and so did Christopher. An hour later, Brian returned in a hurry and passed the business license and some other documents to Christopher. “Mr. Christopher, you’ve saved a lot of trouble with my help!” Christopher flipped through the documents. After making sure that everything was fine, he lifted his head and asked Brian, “Are you free now? Let me make you some Hundred Tonics Nourishing Soup.” Initially, Brian planned to get back to work after sending Christopher off. He was startled upon hearing the latter’s invitation. Then, he quickly nodded with a wide grin on his face. “Sure! Sure!” Brian had been troubled by his problem for quite some time, so he would surely go if his problem could be fixed thoroughly. Hundred Tonics Nourishing Soup was such an exotic soup, yet he was offered a free treat, so of course he wouldn’t want to miss the goody! With that, Brian quickly led Christopher to his car, and he only got into the car after Christopher had. After some time, the two arrived at The Serenade. Christopher came up with an excuse and took out the pot. Then, he spent 10 seconds cooking a set of Hundred Tonics Nourishing Soup for Brian, after which he served the soup to Brian under the latter’s shocked gaze. Thereafter, Christopher prepared another few sets of Hundred Tonics Nourishing Soup and left to settle some matters regarding the new restaurant after informing Scarlett and Luna. Nowadays, a big part of The Serenade’s daily profit was contributed by Hundred Tonics Nourishing Soup. As long as the restaurant had enough Hundred Tonics Nourishing Soup, Luna wouldn’t be bothered if Christopher wasn’t in the restaurant most of the time. Moreover, Christopher was attending to some serious business now, so she naturally wouldn’t be unreasonable and stop him from doing so. Later, Christopher went to the restaurant which originally belonged to Carl. Brian had informed him about things to take note of about the restaurant such as keys and the others. Whatever Christopher needed, Brian provided him with whatever resources he had. Upon opening the door of the restaurant, Christopher felt some dust, so he subconsciously waved his hands. It seemed like the dust had accumulated ever since the restaurant was closed down. Christopher walked around the restaurant and remembered the settings of it. He was in a quandary looking at the dust on the tables. As the boss, should I personally clean up this place? After pondering for a moment, Christopher decided to hire a waiter, as there would surely be many other things which needed to be attended to in the future, and he couldn’t possibly take care of everything on his own. In fact, he had thought of asking for Luna’s help, but in the end, he still decided to settle these trivial matters by himself. After all, Luna was a director and was busy enough with her daily tasks. Christopher contemplated for a while and started writing on a board. ‘Waiter Wanted. Gender: Female; Age: 18-30 years old; Requirement: Gentle, Courteous, Good-looking, Passionate; Salary: 3,000-5,000; Working days: Monday-Friday. Weekends are off. Workaholics are welcomed to work on weekends too.’ It was Christopher’s first time writing a recruitment notice. Initially, he wondered if he should take out the requirement of being good-looking. However, he pondered about it and thought his restaurant was not an ordinary one, so they needed an attractive waitress all the more lest the image of the restaurant was affected. Upon writing the notice and reviewing it, Christopher hung the board at the most conspicuous spot outside the restaurant so that whoever saw the notice could walk in for an interview. After waiting for quite some time, Christopher saw a lady walking over from a distance. She pointed at the notice and frowned immediately after looking inside the restaurant. “Are you still hiring? Why does your restaurant look so dirty?” Christopher felt awkward hearing the lady’s comment, but he quickly nodded firmly. “Yeah. Would you like to sit for an interview?”
