God-Tier Like System
Carl was stunned; he usually shared at least a half of the money from the fraud he committed with his uncle. He didn’t expect this uncle of his to be so unsparing and selfish—was he planning to burn the bridge after crossing it himself? When he realized that, Carl looked unbelievably upset; a dark shadow washed over his face as well. “Uncle, you agreed to the prices on the menu whether you admit it or not. Whatever it is, you can’t deny it.” Brian didn’t speak as he listened to their conversation quietly. Instead, his eyes darted coldly toward the director of Labor Security. In return, the director’s face twitched visibly; he looked like he could beat the deputy director to death. “You two have plotted in secret and violated the law. As such, you have severely tipped the economical balance and disturbed the social equilibrium. You two are suspected of fraud and extortion, so save your words for the police,” the director said with a scoff. Brian took a step forward as well. Then, he eyed both Carl and the deputy director before he said, “Your restaurant’s license will be revoked immediately. From now on, this restaurant will no longer be allowed to run, and you’ll be fined a total of 500,000!” Both Carl and the deputy director collapsed to the ground after hearing the director and Brian. Their faces went white with shock, especially Carl’s—right now, he couldn’t be more regretful for his actions. If he were really to be charged with extortion, he could end up facing a few years of jail time. “I’m so sorry, sir. It’s all my fault—I shouldn’t have tried to scam you. Please forgive me…” Carl stumbled to Christopher and begged him bitterly. Meanwhile, Christopher stood up and gave him a glance. “You really scared me when you said that you were going to break my legs earlier.” Carl froze at the sound of that and hastily waved his hands at Christopher. “I just didn’t know who you were. If I had known earlier, I wouldn’t have said something like that even if I was on the brink of death!” “You’re saying that you would’ve broken my legs if I wasn’t acquainted with Deputy Director Hughes, then? Did you hear that, Deputy Director Hughes?” Christopher let out a cold chuckle as he turned to Brian. Brian nodded, his expression still as glum as before. Then, he immediately called Jefferey on his phone to inform the police about the two violators. Carl and the deputy director started trembling even harder when they heard Brian calling the police. At that moment, a hint of maliciousness passed over Carl’s eyes as he turned toward his men around him. “Since you’re not giving me a chance, then bring it on! Get them.” Carl stood up all of a sudden and ordered the burly men in black who were standing nearby. The men’s eyes glimmered with a certain realization—they clearly understood the heavy penalty they could potentially face from running a shady business like this. Thus, they nodded at each other before attacking the people around them all at once. Naturally, Samantha was one of their targets as well. Just then, a pair of huge hands tried to grab her and a hint of panic surfaced on her face. As she stared wide-eyed at the pair of hands that were reaching out to her, a shadow came to her rescue as it flashed by from her side. Christopher’s foot crashed into the man’s chest just in time. At that moment, a loud crack could be heard—three of the man’s rib bones had been fractured. The man stumbled backward for a few steps while blood splattered from his mouth. Then, he passed out on the ground. Upon noticing their comrade’s fall, the other attackers were petrified. The next second, four people started attacking Christopher all at once, and they looked like they were out for murder. On the other hand, Christopher simply eyed the four men casually and clenched his fists in front of him. Then, he attacked before they could even get close to him. It only took Christopher 10 seconds to completely beat up the four men the same way as before. In the end, they were bleeding horribly as they collapsed to the ground, trembling weakly. Their faces were white and they looked like they’d been completely exhausted. The four men stared at Christopher in terror—they were all professionally trained, and some of them had even gotten their hands bloody before. Needless to say, they didn’t expect to be so easily defeated in the hands of Christopher. Who in the world is this young man? Eventually, there was only one man left standing. He took a few steps backward with an astonished look on his face; then, he turned to the door and realized that it had been locked shut. With that, he stole a look at the emotionless Brian. “Don’t move! Otherwise, say goodbye to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s deputy director!”The final attacker rushed up to Brian in an instant and wrapped his fingers around the latter’s throat. Then, he pointed a finger at Christopher and threatened him fiercely. His ear-splitting warning made the surrounding people hold their breaths, and they didn’t dare to make any noise. Meanwhile, Brian was suffocating while his face turned red; Christopher stared fixedly at him as he spread his arms and gestured for the people behind him to stay back. Nonetheless, there wasn’t a hint of panic on his face. “You’ll face a death penalty for sure if you kill Brian Hughes!” Christopher said to the attacker leisurely as he stared at him with his eyes slightly narrowed. Despite his calm tone, he clenched his fists tighter by the side. The man visibly quivered at Christopher’s warning, and a hint of doubt passed over his face. For a split second, his grip around Brian’s neck loosened a little. Now! Christopher screamed inside. Then, he sprinted as fast as he could toward the man who was looking quite dazed at the moment. Within seconds, he flung his fist into the man’s face. The man’s burly build knocked against the door’s glass panel as he let out a devastating cry. The next moment, his eyes squeezed shut and he passed out immediately. At the sight of the six fallen men and Christopher, the crowd was dumbfounded. Carl, the deputy director next to him, Brian, and the Bureau’s director looked completely shocked. They finally knew what it meant to be a pro—Christopher was none other than one! “It seems like I overdid it, Deputy Director Hughes. It shouldn’t be a problem, right?” Christopher flung his arms and asked Brian calmly. “No, of course not. It was just self-defense, and you even saved us all! It’s no problem at all!” Brian was ecstatic when he finally came back to his senses. His life had been saved—by Christopher, no less. Thus, he quickly waved his hands at him gratefully. Who was he kidding? Brian had just almost lost his life, whereas Christopher saved him at the most critical moment. With that reason alone, he should be thanking his lifesaver profusely. Moreover, considering Christopher’s tight relationship with Director Turner, Brian could only try to please Christopher endlessly. How could he even bring himself to blame the man? “Ding! Congratulations to the Host for standing up as the hero once again. He braved the dangers before him and protected the city from yet another dangerous threat. The system rewards you with 10,000 Thumbs-Up points!” Christopher nodded at Brian. Meanwhile, the mechanical voice rang in his head once again, sending Christopher into surprise. It seems that being a hero depends on the villain as well! I get it—the more cruel and heartless the enemy is, the more points I’ll get rewarded with, Christopher thought to himself in silence.
