Chapter 125 I Don’t Really Want to Pay for the Meal

Christopher nodded before he recited the happenings of that day as he exaggerated some points to make himself look a little more virtuous and heroic. Of course, he completely left out the part that involved the police station. Meanwhile, Luna’s eyes sparkled in admiration as she listened to him while a smile occasionally graced her beautiful lips, and her ample bosom rose up and down. In addition to the peachy and juicy temptation of her lips, Christopher almost suffered from a nosebleed at the sight of them. Since it was the weekend, Christopher was planning to go back to his family home. However, he would probably stay with his family for much longer than the weekend’s worth. After all, his mother hadn’t seen him in a long time, so she might not want him to leave so soon. “You’re saying that you want to visit your family tomorrow?” Luna jolted momentarily. Then, she placed her snowy white hands on the table and asked Christopher in slight shock. He nodded and chatted idly with Luna for a while. After getting permission for his leave, Christopher left the office and went to help out in the kitchen. Upon seeing him inside there, Scarlett didn’t point a knife at him this time. On the other hand, Christopher was a little shy at the sight of her. He thought to himself, This brat has been acting awfully strange these days… With that, he got to work in the kitchen. “Ding! Congratulations to the Host for increasing proficiency in Knife Skills! You have obtained 30 experience points.” “Ding! Congratulations to the Host for increasing proficiency in Fire Skills! You have obtained 30 experience points.” “Ding! Congratulations to the Host for increasing proficiency in Tasting Skills! You have obtained 30 experience points.” “Ding! Congratulations to the Host for increasing proficiency in Choosing Skills! You have obtained 30 experience points.” As usual, the familiar voice of the machine rang in Christopher’s mind as he was cutting up the ingredients. The announcements came one after another, and soon, Christopher realized that his various skills had accumulated more than 400,000 points. After getting off work, Christopher went to the Ferrari dealer store again and bought a blue Ferrari. He didn’t buy any other model simply because Samantha was only interested in this particular car. Thus, Christopher bought another one. As soon as he arrived, the manager named Mr. Johnson and all the other sales assistants couldn’t hide the huge grins on their faces. Along with that, their eyes lit up as well. After all, they’d sold two Ferraris worth 4.88 million each in just a few days! This was a huge boost in their sales performance! With that amount of sales, their commission rate would definitely increase by a great amount. Naturally, they had Christopher to thank for that. Right now, they were even willing to go up to him and butter him up like a God. What a wealthy man he is! Under the bright smiles of the manager and all the other employees, Christopher left the store in another Ferrari. After that, he went to pick Samantha up before heading to a restaurant to have a meal together. While they were eating, he told her about his plans of going home. “Y-You want me to go home with you, Chris?” Samantha picked up the glass of water in front of her and took a gentle sip as she asked nervously with a flush on her face. “Yeah, you should meet your future in-laws!” Christopher laughed as he stared at Samantha, for she was blushing bright red. “If you want me to go with you, then I’ll go!” Samantha’s cheeks grew brighter when she heard his words. She put down the glass slowly and nodded before answering him softly. Christopher couldn’t help but reach in for a peck after seeing her bashful reaction. After the meal, he gestured for the waiter to bring the bill. “Here’s your bill, sir. The total is 100,000,” said the waiter after taking a nonchalant glance at Christopher’s Ferrari that was parked outside. “100,000? How is that possible?” When she heard the waiter’s words, Samantha covered her mouth in utter surprise. Christopher frowned as well. He had already skimmed through the menu before he ordered; the prices on the menu stated that the food they ordered cost 10 or 20 bucks per dish, so their bill would only add up to 60 at most. No matter how one calculated it, it couldn’t possibly add up to a total of 100,000! “I’m sorry, but the menu that you were looking at was our old menu. Here’s our new one!” The waiter smiled sarcastically before passing Christopher another menu. Christopher flipped open the menu and noticed that the garlic pork was 15,000; the stir-fried beef was 10,000; the chicken stew was 20,000; and the winter melon soup cost 10,000. More importantly, those were all the dishes that they had ordered. Not only that, the restaurant even charged 10,000 for providing cutlery, whereas the drinking cups and plain rice had a fee of 5,000. There was even a tiny notice on the menu stating that a smile from the waiter was 20,000. Christopher’s casual demeanor darkened as soon as he saw those prices. This was obviously a rip-off, and he never expected himself to come across such bizarre prices like these in a restaurant. He’d heard that some restaurants charged a hefty amount for their food, but all of them had been exposed by the authorities. Little did he expect to personally experience such crazy antics at this restaurant. Christopher gave it some thought. Someone came to mind at last, and a slight smile crept up on his face. Then, he slammed the menu onto the table and picked up his glass of water. He took a sip and said, “Let me talk to your boss!” “I’m sorry. You’ve taken another sip of our water, so that’s another 1,000 to your bill! I’ll get the boss right away!” The waiter wasn’t flustered at all as he stood by the side, for he simply assumed that Christopher had accepted the fact that he was being scammed. He disregarded the menu that had been slammed onto the table and merely responded cheerfully. Christopher noticed that Samantha was getting restless beside him, so he gave her a tug on her arm and sat closer to her. “Eat and drink all you want—don’t be scared! They won’t be able to get the best of us!” In response, Samantha jolted momentarily; she thought that Christopher was joking and hastily said, “I know that 100,000 is no problem for you, Chris, but we can’t sit by and let these people scam us! Quick, call the police!” However, Christopher broke into a smile and shook his head. He then pinched her nose and said, “Don’t worry. Just trust me—we’ll be fine.” Samantha bit down on her supple lower lip when she saw the calm and determined look on Christopher’s face. Then, she nodded. “I’ll trust you then, Chris!” “Hey, look at that! We finally have a customer!” Just then, a sarcastic voice interrupted their talk from behind Christopher. When the man came up to their table, Christopher looked up and finally saw his face. The man was large and meaty with an oily face. He was dressed in a singlet with a pair of slippers, and he had a toothpick in his mouth. Not only that, the man wore a mocking smirk as he stared straight at Christopher. All of a sudden, a hint of nastiness passed his eyes when they swept across Samantha. Immediately after that, drool dribbled down his chin. The fat man only came to his senses when the waiter gave him a pat on his shoulder. He then said, “Hey, you punk. I’m Carl Musk, the owner of this restaurant. Do you have a problem with our menu?” Christopher rose up from his seat slowly and held Samantha’s hand as he did so. Then, he put on a slight smile and said, “I don’t have a problem with it. It’s just that… I don’t really feel like paying for this meal.”
