Interstellar Businesswoman Tycoon
A black hover car speedily arrived at the mercenary underground parking lot before pulling to a stop at the parking spot. Sliding the storage ring onto her index finger, Sylvia stepped out of the car. The combat suit on her body gleamed under the rays of light. Surely, it was a new combat suit since the one she previously wore had been damaged during their last expedition. Sylvia strode out of the parking space, heading in the direction of the ground floor, which was already bustling with many activities. Entering the hall, she headed straight to the Tyron guild's private room. “Hello, everyone. Good morning.” Sylvia greeted as she pushed the door open. “Sylvia! You are here.” Miley stood up from where she sat and walked over to Sylvia. “Come sit over here.” She grabbed her hand and pulled her over to the empty seat next to hers. Sylvia sat down under Miley’s enthusiastic action. She then looked over to the others, catching the weird gaze in their eyes. “What's wrong? Why are you all staring at me? Is there something on my face?” Miley was the first to speak. “You… Gosh, I can't believe it.” Her eyes were filled with a sense of bewilderment as she stared at Sylvia. “You… Why didn't you mention anything about your identity to us? Do you know how shocked we were when we saw the news on the internet?” “Ah. You mean that.” Sylvia finally realized why they were all looking at her with that peculiar expression. “It's nothing, actually.” “Nothing?” Walker's sudden voice was loud. “I couldn't sleep well ever since I read the news about you last night. You… Who are you, actually? Are you really the Sylvia we know?” “If she isn't, then is the one before us a ghost. Come on, try to think rationally.” Jose spoke, feeling annoyed at Walker's slow thinking.“Does your parent— sorry, I mean guardian. Does he know about you venturing into the wilds?” Tyron asked. “He doesn't.” Sylvia shook her head, not bothering to hide the fact. “You… Why are you so careless? Do you know how dangerous it is outside the wild land?” Miley began to lecture. “With the mass of wealth you have, you can just lie back and have an easy life. Why do you have to take such a risk?” Sylvia's brows furrowed, clearly in dislike of what Miley had just said. “Can we not speak about my identity? It's my decision to venture into the wild or not. It doesn't matter whether I'm a rich person or an average individual.” “I…” Miley quickly noticed the switch in Sylvia's mood and soon changed her sentence. “I was just worried about you.” “I think Miley is trying to say that you shouldn't put your life on the line since you're still young. There's still a whole life ahead of you.” Tyron stepped in. “When we found out about your identity, we were indeed taken aback. A bit of fear also came along with it. What if you were to lose your life during any of the missions? Wouldn't the federation hold us accountable for letting you venture into the wilds? The mercenary hall might even suffer some consequences along with it.” “I think you've all got it wrong.” Sylvia began to explain to them. “I'm not that important in the federation's eyes, like you guys made it seem. We're just business partners. Besides, the one in charge of the company affairs is my uncle, not me.” “You should have seen the rumors spread around before my identity as Creamery Creamer CEO was revealed. That was simply to further deny the malicious allegations made against me. Moreover, I know that you're all worried about me. But I can protect myself.” She then turned to Miley and spoke. “I'm sorry if my earlier response offended you. I'm just not used to someone querying my decision.” “Oh, you don't have to apologize to me.” Miley waved her hands in the air, proving that she wasn't angry. “I would also have reacted that way if I were asked to stop being a mercenary member. I could still remember getting into an argument with my parents when I first told them I wanted to venture into the wilds.” She laughed, recounting her previous experience. Her words soon reminded everyone that she was also from a wealthy family. Miley could have decided to stay back and enjoy her parents' wealth. But instead, she decided to venture outside the wilds, spending her life killing off fierce beasts. “Thank you,” Sylvia said. She was gratified that Miley didn't take offense at her words. Since Miley was one of the people she was close to, she didn't want her indifference behavior to be the cause of an estrangement between their relationship. “Let me give you a hug.” Miley spread out her arms, pulling Sylvia into a hug. Feeling the body in her embrace going stiff, she soon let go. “It's okay. I understand.” She understands that it would be very challenging to break the hard wall set around the girl's heart. But with time, everything is possible. With everything cleared, Sylvia began to listen to the discussion about their missions. Tyron began. “This time around. We will be going deeper into the wilds to source some rare materials. Sylvia, your wolf beast has already achieved the A rank class, so you don't need to worry about facing against A tiers beasts anymore.” “How many days are we going to spend outside in the wild land?” Kai asked. “I'm taking several tasks at once, so we might spend 3 weeks and some days outside there. Make sure to gather enough supplies in the hall downstairs. The date I mentioned is just an estimate of the time we might spend there. Perhaps, it might even be longer than that. Which is why it's all based on how deeply we venture.” As he mentioned, Tyron looked up at Sylvia, asking, “Will this affect your time at school?” “Not at all.” Sylvia shook her head. “We're currently on a holiday, going for about a month.”“Is that so? Then we don't have to worry about it.” Tyron resumed back to his speech. In his mid-speech, the door of the private room was suddenly knocked on. “Did anyone call someone up here?” “I don't think so,” Miley answered. The knocking on the door continues. “I'll go check who it is.” Ryker stood up to go answer the door. There wasn't any sort of technology in the guild's private room, as this was to prevent a situation of cameras being hacked and private information of the guild being stolen. Hence, Ryker had to open the door to check who was there. Seeing the young man at the doorstep, whose face was covered with a black mask, Ryker's eyes couldn't help but brighten. “Ian.” “Hi.” Under the mask, Ian let out a smile, seeing Ryker's figure. “I hope I didn't come late.” “What are you doing here? Didn't Amos come with you?” Seeing that it was only Ian at the door, he asked. “No, he didn't,” Ian answered. “Come in.” Ryker pulled the door open for Ian to step in. “Mmm.” Ian nodded, stepping inside the room. Soon, his gaze met the nine people seated around the table. Ryker hurriedly closed the door and turned to the room. “Everyone, look. It's Ian who came to visit us.” Ian pulled down his mask, and the handsome face underneath was revealed to everyone. “Hello.” His bright smile lit up the whole room.
