Chapter 433 Hideous Armor That Woke Him

When Caroline first saw this strange by-product, she had two feelings. One, wow, this thing is unbelievably powerful. Two, wow, this thing is unbelievably ugly. She even joked to herself that if she ever went to war and had to wear this thing just to stay alive, that would be the most embarrassing day of her life. But now Nelson still wasn't awake. She had no choice but to carry this awful-looking armor downstairs. The only reason she was willing to use it at all was because Nelson's blood had a power almost as shocking as the armor itself. It could pull someone back from the edge of death. Because of that, Caroline finally agreed to bring out this life-saving armor. Otherwise, she would never let anyone else use something this priceless. Two of Nathaniel's soldiers came over to inspect the armor. After a careful check, they didn't find anything dangerous—no hidden weapons, no traps. They nodded at Francis. As for the armor's material, one of the soldiers had an ability to sense energy. He said he could feel a healing force inside it, but nothing more. His confirmation matched exactly with what Caroline had told them. Francis ordered the team to put the armor on Nathaniel immediately. Caroline finally let out a breath of relief. Thank goodness she didn't draw a tube of Nelson's blood before coming down here. If she did, that would've been a disaster. And she was right—Nathaniel was now under strict protection. Anything sent over for him had to pass military inspection before being used. Even Summer's medicine from a moment ago had to be checked by two ability-type soldiers before she was allowed to inject it. With everyone working together, they finally got the armor on Nathaniel. Caroline took a moment to explain to Francis that Nelson was unconscious because he had experimented on himself. She didn't know when he would wake up. Francis looked worried, but he didn't argue. He simply nodded, took a deep breath, and stared at Nathaniel lying beside them. He was so worried that he no longer felt like talking. The armor was massive. Nathaniel, who was already skin and bones, looked even weaker with it on.His pale face and thin frame made the nearby soldiers wipe their eyes in secret. Their commander was a wonderful man—brave, strong, and always leading from the front. Seeing him like this broke their hearts. But then something no one expected happened. Ten minutes after the strange armor was put on, Nathaniel's breathing grew stronger. A faint color returned to his cheeks. He was still unconscious, but Summer rushed over and checked him carefully. She blinked, shocked. "Commander Ball's doing much better than before!" Summer's voice trembled with excitement, and she shared the good news. "This is amazing. He was seconds away from having his circulation cut off. But now, his system is running again! It's like a miracle!" The soldiers, who had been drowning in fear and pressure, burst into cheers. Caroline remembered what the storage space said when it introduced this item. As long as the person is still breathing, this armor can pull them back from death itself. Stealing someone back from the jaws of death, it was exactly as advertised. Storage space hadn't lied to her. When Nathaniel's condition stabilized, Francis finally relaxed a little. His anger and crankiness faded, replaced by relief. He walked over to Caroline. Before she could react, he grabbed her hand. Caroline froze. Francis' weathered, aging face had tears running down it. He held her hand tightly, his grip trembling. "Caroline, I know this thing must be precious to you. Something you can only use for once, and you used it on Commander Ball." He shook his head, voice breaking. "I won't say anything else. But starting today, my life belongs to you." ... Nelson didn't wake up until it was almost dark. By then, Caroline was already waiting for him on the 65th floor. What shocked her the most was Nelson's hair. That morning, after checking that Nathaniel's condition had finally stabilized, she went upstairs. When she left earlier, Nelson's head was bald; there wasn't a single strand on his head. But when she returned, Nelson suddenly had hair. Soft, fuzzy hair. Just a few millimeters long, like baby peach fuzz. "I can't believe this spring water actually makes hair grow," Caroline muttered, stunned. Since Nelson still wasn't waking up, she set up a small camp cot next to him and decided to take a short nap. That short nap turned into three whole hours. When she woke up, Nelson was still out cold, but the hair on his head had grown to almost four inches. Golden, shiny, thick, and honestly ... way too healthy. And that still wasn't the end of it. Caroline went to grab some food and played with Marmy for a while. Another two hours passed.
