Chapter 365 The Triangle Trap

Raven didn't hesitate anymore—he bolted straight out the door. Meanwhile, Nelson paced around his lab twice, filled with confusion and frustration. He had no spare clothes. Not even a bedsheet! And he definitely wasn't about to wear something off a corpse. But what if someone walked in right now? Sure, Nelson was a crazy scientist, but he wasn't a maniac who liked showing off his body. ... Down below, Tyler was already sprinting across a field of bug corpses and charging straight toward Lisa. Lisa's pupils shrank the moment she saw him. That man looked like death itself, covered in blood and fury. She manipulated every remaining bug under her control to throw themselves at him, forming a wall of flesh to shield her. But Tyler didn't slow down. His metallic arm blades slashed through everything in his way. If a god stood before him, he'd cut it down too. A rain of blood poured from above. Behind him, Caroline raised her left arm, cold determination in her eyes. She let out a cold laugh and was about to pick an ability to assist Tyler. Lisa hid deep within a sea of bugs. They jumped out of the water like black curtains, layer upon layer, forming a living wall. Tyler's long blades sliced again and again, but there were too many of them. They blocked his vision completely. For two solid minutes, Tyler fought like a storm. He stepped on the corpses of bugs as he slashed forward. But more swarmed him, fearless and endless, sealing him in from every direction. He couldn't locate Lisa. Tyler moved faster and faster, his body a blur. But the bugs didn't fear death. They kept charging, layering over one another until they formed a solid wall in the air—thick, black, and suffocating. Inside that mass of writhing bodies, Lisa kept shifting positions, vanishing and reappearing like a phantom. It was impossible to pin her down. Then, the bugs attacked again. Luckily, because Lisa had pulled many of them away to guard her, the ones still swarming forward were fewer. The soldiers below finally had a moment to breathe. Caroline looked at the exhausted fighters on the lower floor. Her jaw tightened. This had to end now. Take down Lisa. End the swarm. Lisa must know how to make the bugs retreat. She has to catch her, and the invasion would stop. Caroline hated being threatened. And Lisa had the nerve to use threats against her? Fine. If Lisa came knocking, she'd have to face the consequences. They'd capture her, force her to stop this insect disaster, and make sure she never went after Nelson again. Meanwhile, Denton was still holding the line. His army of mutant rats filled the entire front, gnawing, screeching, and tearing through the swarm. The awful stench rolling off him spread across the battlefield, thick and choking. Strangely, the bugs flinched away from it. Some even froze midair, their movements slowing as if their senses dulled from the smell. Caroline took a deep breath, eyes locked on Tyler, who was fighting not far away. Her mind spun fast. She had just copied over a dozen abilities. With the ones she'd already copied from Tyler and Raven, she now had nearly 20 types of abilities stored in her system. But only three could be active at once. Caroline frowned and hit the reset button. She saw three new abilities icons flash across her control panel. Caroline glanced at them. Her lips curved into a sly smile as she picked one. Then she looked toward the battlefield where Tyler was fighting through Lisa's swarm of mutant bugs and shouted, "A triangle is the strongest shape in the world!" The moment her voice rang out, a shimmering waterline shot from her position, instantly linking her, Tyler, and Lisa together. Lisa, who had been hiding safely behind her insect army, was suddenly exposed. "Tyler! Follow the line and get her!" Caroline yelled.Mutated Water Ability: The Triangle You Don't Know Description: When the user shouts, "A triangle is the strongest shape in the world," three water lines will connect three targets, forming an unbreakable triangle for 15 minutes. No matter how the three move, the water lines remain stable. The linked triangle improves attack precision and breaks all forms of invisibility or concealment. It was the perfect counter to stealth-based abilities—like Alger's Dustveil, which would be completely useless against it. Tyler saw the glowing waterline stretch toward him and grinned. Without hesitation, he charged forward along the path of light. Lisa stared at the blue line wrapped around her wrist, frozen in shock. She tried everything—pulling, burning, and cutting—but it wouldn't come off. Then she felt the nearby water begin to tremble, alive with energy. Panicking, she summoned even more insects to hide herself within the thick swarm. But it was too late. Through the mass of writhing creatures, a flash of silver broke through her defense. It was Tyler's blade. The sharp edge sliced her insect shield apart, the hole widening with each strike. No matter how she twisted or tried to dodge, that blade stayed locked on her like a shadow she couldn't escape.
