Stronger Every Time I Die
John noticed the disappointment on Raelynn’s face, and a complicated emotion flashed through his eyes. They were all his children—he wanted to be fair, to care for them equally. But Zac… he had wronged Zac too much already. Arthur had been raised in their home, receiving both parental love and the affection of his three older sisters. Compared to Zac, Arthur had been happier. Weighing everything, John still had to choose to protect Zac. If the family turned against him, how would Zac survive in the Gray household? And without the Gray family, what future would he have? While John and Raelynn were lost in thought, Susie suddenly burst in, panic written all over her face. “Dad! Mom! Something terrible has happened!” John’s expression immediately darkened. “You’re not a child anymore—why are you still acting so frantic?” Susie was stunned. Why was her father suddenly in such a bad mood? Just as she was about to explain, a large group of people stormed into the house. It was Richie! His face was covered in bruises, and he had brought the Xander family patriarch and a group of people to the Gray residence—demanding justice from John! Richie couldn't go to the police, but he could go straight to the Gray family and have John punish Arthur! Barely receiving treatment for his injuries, Richie had rushed over, wailing as soon as he stepped through the door. “Mr. John! You have to stand up for me!” John and Raelynn were both startled, quickly standing up. “Richie? What happened to you?” “Hmph! What happened? You should ask your own son!” Richie’s father, David Xander, snorted coldly. John and Raelynn were taken aback. They exchanged glances, both immediately thinking of Zac. John frowned. “Zac? But aren’t he and Richie good friends?” “What Zac? I’m talking about your biological son—Arthur!” David interrupted sharply.“Arthur?” John and Raelynn spoke in unison, stunned. John, who had just discovered that he might have wronged Arthur, felt a slight sense of guilt. Instinctively, he wanted to defend Arthur. “David, this must be a misunderstanding. Arthur has always been well-behaved,” John quickly said. The Xander family members were all stunned. Was this the same John Gray? Hadn’t he just publicly humiliated Arthur a few days ago? Why was his attitude suddenly so different? But David wasn’t interested in John’s internal struggles. He pulled Richie forward. “Your Arthur beat my son to a pulp—that’s a fact. If you don’t believe me, we can call the police to take fingerprints off his injuries.” The mention of the police made John frown deeply. Reputation was everything in high society—there was no way he’d allow this to escalate to the authorities. David was so confident; it was clear Arthur was the culprit. The little bit of guilt John had felt for Arthur evaporated in an instant. He immediately turned to Richie, trying to placate him. “Don’t worry, Richie. I’ll bring that brat back right now and make sure you get justice.” Hearing this, Richie’s eyes lit up. He secretly sent a message to Zac, telling him to hurry back—there was going to be a show worth watching! Zac was a smooth talker, and Richie needed him to help stir the situation. At a countryside estate, Ashley was in the fitting room, trying on the clothes Arthur had bought her. Slowly, she stepped out of the room. Arthur had been waiting outside expectantly, and the moment he saw her, his eyes widened in shock. Ashley was wearing the tight-fitting dress Arthur had been most looking forward to seeing. The perfectly tailored fabric accentuated every curve of her figure, hugging her body in all the right places. The deep neckline made it impossible for Arthur to look away. Her slender waist was so small that he guessed it might be no wider than his own hand. That hourglass figure, the slight sway of her hips with every step—Arthur felt his nose start to heat up. Her long, fair legs were smooth and delicate, reflecting a soft glow under the sunlight. A pair of high heels completed her look, making her even more stunning. Step by step, she walked toward Arthur. Once she reached him, she leaned forward slightly, raising her arms in front of him and waving them playfully. Her crisp, sweet voice rang out, “Hey, Arthur, what are you staring at?” She did a little twirl and asked, “Does it look good?” Arthur was already on the verge of collapse. As she leaned forward, that neckline became even more pronounced! She twirled, giving him a full view of her breathtaking figure. Arthur couldn't take it anymore. Two streams of blood gushed from his nose! Ashley gasped in shock. “Arthur! What’s wrong?!” Arthur finally snapped out of it, hurriedly covering his nose, his face turning beet red in embarrassment.
